The New Era
Prologue

Several months had passed since the final battle with Nemesis, Jessie Blue and the Outriders. Peace and order finally returned to the New Frontier. Civilians and Non-Civilians packed in to rebuild of what was left from the war. Once the reparations were done, husbands, wives, bothers and sisters returned home to their loved ones. Families were reunited. Lost loves, who were drifted apart by the war, found one another again. Children could be children again, living carefree the way it supposed to be. Indeed, a new era was approaching. A new life was beginning for everyone. A life without war. Yet, at the end, one question remained stuck in everyone’s mind: How long would this last?

Chapter 1
Going Home

Outer Space

A familiar spaceship was approaching Planet Juma at a steady paste. After months of traveling, time had now come for the Starsheriffs to return to the base of the Cavalry Commando on Juma. Instead of hearing the usual talks amongst them, silence took over on board. All four of them had been exhausted from all the traveling. One could see clearly in their faces that their minds were somewhere else. Only the noise given off by their computers echoed throughout the entire ship.

It was not until when Ramrod finally entered Juma’s atmosphere that the silence was broken by April.

"Ramrod to Juma. Ramrod to Juma. Can you hear me? Requesting clearance for landing on the base. Over."

"Juma Base here. Landing clearance approved. Welcome home, Starsheriffs. Oh, and Miss Eagle, Commander Eagle wants to see you all after you have docked. Over."

"Roger Juma Base. Over and out." she said firmly, turning over to the guys. "I wonder what Daddy wants from us?"

"He probably will congratulate us on how great we did with our last job. You know, the usual stuff. Now, if we are lucky, he will give us some time off. We could really use it now after all what we have done for them." Colt said dreamy, already drifting to his own little world.

"What do you mean we?" Fireball pointed out while looking over Colt . "It’s more like you want some time off so that you can spend it with Robin."

Both Saber and April could not help themselves but laugh at Fireball’s remark.

"Ah, laugh all you can." Colt snapped out from his little dream. "Oh, come on Fireball. Don’t tell me that you don’t want to spend some more time with a certain someone, who wishes to remain nameless, here on board. Besides, it would do us all good if we had that break."

Fireball gave him another look, while April began to blush at his comment. She immediately turned around to her monitor, avoiding having the guys seeing her like this. She knew that he was right though. They had not much time to themselves lately since their work took priority. She only could wish that at the end he was right.

"OK, chaps. Why don’t we get ready to land, hm?" Saber said, trying to ease the moment. "Landing maneuver on, Fireball."

"There is no point in talking to you, partner." Fireball said laughing to Colt before giving his full attention to his maneuvering.

"Roger, Saber. OK, let’s land this ship then."

Then silence returned to the room.
