Chapter 2
Good Bye

On Juma

"Commander Eagle. The Starsheriffs are here." a voice came through his intercom. "Great, send them in please."

Before he could say anything, April ran to him with wide open arms and gave him a big hug. "Hi Daddy. Oh, I missed you so much."

Commander Eagle embraced her too with all his heart. It had been a while since he had last seen her. "I missed you too, Sweetheart." he said smiling.

He then turned to the rest of the Starsheriffs. "Welcome home, Starsheriffs. Am I glad to see you back safe and sound."

"Thanks, Commander Eagle." all of them responded at once.

"Well, I have some good news for you." he continued. "Since you all have done such a wonderful job in helping with rebuilding the New Frontier, the Cavalry Commando has granted you some time off."

Without any hesitation, Colt immediately jumped up and down around the office making himself look like a fool. "Yipppiieeee. Hallelujah. That’s like music to my ears." he yelled out of the top of his lungs while everyone broke into laughter.

"Hahahaha. I can understand that too well. You all deserve it very much." Commander Eagle said, trying to regain from his laughing.

"Thanks, Daddy." April said hugging her father once again.

‘That will be all, Starsheriffs. You are officially on break unless there is some emergency, but I don’t think it will happen any time soon." Commander Eagle finally declared happily.

With that they saluted their Commander and left his office.

Walking down the hall, the guys were busy talking among themselves about their upcoming vacation plans that they did not notice April’s withdrawal.

"Wow, can you imagine it, Turbo Freak, me and Robin on a Tropical Island?" Before one knew it, Colt was dancing carefree to the beat of the Hawaiian aloha song.

"Hahahaha. Colt, you are too much. You are a hopeless fool in love. You know that, don’t you." Fireball said laughing when he suddenly noticed April’s silence. "Is everything all right, April? You seem to be so quiet of all the sudden."

"Ahem, yeah, everything is fine, Fireball." she finally snapped out of it. " So, what are you guys going to do now?"

"Hmmm... I guess I could go home and visit my parents. I haven’t seen them in a while." Saber said thinking.

"Hey, you don’t have to ask me." Colt said laughing. "What about you two?"

April’s face turned pale red before she could answer him.

Without any delay, Colt immediately understood and continued on with a devilish grin on his face, "Just promise me that you will invite me to your wedddddddiiiiiiiiiing....... "

He took of as fast as the speeding bullet before he even could finish the sentence.

"Oh, Colt. I will get you for this." She ran screaming after him.

"I only meant it in good way, April. Ahhhhh, guys, help me, will you? Pretty pleaaasssssseeee. Ahhhhh....." Colt managed to utter under his breath when he ran by them.

"I guess he will never learn it." Saber joked, while Fireball could only watch and laugh at the two.

After a while, April finally caught on to Colt. Instead of giving him the usual lecture and hitting, she hugged him tightly. Colt, surprised by her reaction, could only hug her back.

"I guess this is good bye... for now..." she paused, and some tears drifted down her cheeks.

"Hey, don’t worry, April. We will still see each other. Besides, you never know when Jessie drops in out of the blue." Colt joked, trying to cheer her up.

April smiled and wiped some of her tears away. "Just promise me one thing, Colt. Please take care of yourself, and stay out of trouble."

"Will do, April, and don’t worry about it." Colt said nodding to her.

Then she went over to Saber and hugged him good bye as well. "Just promise me to take good care of yourself, April."

"I will, Saber. Promise me that you will do the same." she spoke softly while he nodded.

"Hey, what about me? Am I nothing or what?" Fireball protested.

April gave him a smile and went to hug him. "You know what you mean to me." she whispered into his ear.

"I guess it’s time for us to go our separate ways. Robin must be worried sick where I have been." Colt interrupted. " Oh, and Turbo Freak, before I forget it. Be good to the lady here, you hear me. If not, I come and get you."

"I will, Colt. The same goes for you though." Fireball said and went on hugging Colt.

"Take care of yourself until we meet again, champs." Saber said hugging Colt and Fireball good bye.

Both of them left while leaving Fireball and April behind.

"I guess it is just us two left." Fireball spoke softly.

April was sadly watching them leaving until no trace of them was left. She did not notice that Fireball was talking to her until he took her by her hand. She smiled back at him. "It looks like it."

"Come on. The sun is about to set. Let’s go out and watch it." Fireball insisted, looking deep into her ocean blue eyes. Surprised by his reaction, April nodded, and followed him outside to a park, where they could watch the sunset by themselves without any interruptions.
