Intro: Born in Manchester 34 years ago, his parents had come to Britain from Barbados. The Jamaican islands party ethos has unquestionably shaped Cox´s popularity.

Started off : Bought a pair of turntables at the age of 13 and never looked back. He made his name in the rave days of the early 80's and became the world's number 1 DJ in 1997.

Famous For : One of the most versatile DJs in the world but generally regarded as an Underground Techno God, playing strictly Underground Music. By now a household name, Carl Cox is worldwide re-knowned for introducing the concept of playing on 3 turntables, touring the world, being the only DJ in the world to play the turn of the millennium twice, appearing on the big breakfast and the Ian Wright show, having a cameo as a club owner in the movie 'Human Traffic' (1999), and once having a headline about him that read "Big Black Cox". Carl Cox gave the Dj a new role, not just a figure playing records but as a crowd manipulator playing strictly for the crowd not leaving anyone left out. He was on the cover of Muzik magazine and the clubs couldn´t get enough of him. He was also voted No. 1 DJ at the International Dance Awards. His Ultimate Agency, which he runs together with his wife Rachel, includes such well known artists as Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Judge Jules and Luke Slater on its books. Meanwhile, there's his new label, Worldwide Ultimatum, where he'll be investing in the heroes of tomorrow.He has visited the Maltese Islands more than twice now.
