Do not use if you have a hypersensitivity to aspirin or aspirin products. Meadowsweet is a very interesting herb because its flower buds were the first discovered source of salicylic acid in 1835. This is an important piece of information because aspirin was later synthesized from salicylic acid. The flower can be used in a tea that helps rid the body of excess fluid and to alleviate heartburn, for feverish colds and mild diarrhea. The flower can also be used as a mild sedative and painkiller, thus the link to aspirin. Meadowsweet flower infusions are also used internally for insomnia or externally as a facial tonic.

This herb also treats a wide range of stomach problems, including hyperacidity and heartburn or gastritis.

I think Meadowsweet is an interesting herb. I chose it becuase of its interesting history and medicinal properties.
