Chapter Three
A few hours later Josh left, and the remaining three sat at the table, finishing up their coffee and desserts. At least Nick finished his dessert, Arianna and AJ just waited for him.
"Time for a cig, Ari?" AJ pleaded.
"Oh nuh uh...not now that you called me Ari, Al. You're just gonna have to suffer!" she teased.
"Oh, you are such a bitch! Besides, I know you're prolly dying for one too! So come on, let's just pay and get the hell out of here."
"Fine. Nick, should we pick it all up, or just split it?" Arianna asked her boyfriend.
"Let's grab it hon, AJ can get the next one," Nick smiled.
As they left the restaurant, the bodyguards signalled them to stop because there was a slight disturbance outside. The guys had puzzled looks on their faces, as the bodyguards lept towards the three of them and threw them to the ground. Quicker than a blonde jumps into bed, a car came crashing through the front window, stopping just inches from Arianna, Nick, AJ, and the two bodyguards. Glass had sprayed liberally over all five of them, and a liquid was leaking from the car. The man inside had suffered a heart attack, causing him to lose control of the car, and consequentially, the car to crash into the restaurant. As sirens sang through the crisp night air, the people in the establishment slowly began gathering their composure, and the bodyguards rushed their charges outside into a waiting limo.
"HOLY SHIT!" Arianna screamed at the bodyguard closest to her. "What the fuck just happened?? Why did we leave so fast? I wanted to know if that man was still alive." At that point she realized she didn't even know the men that were always around when she was out with Nick or any of the other guys. It just never occurred to her to ask, they were always in the background. Ben, the taller of the two men took a deep breath as he tried to explain to Arianna why they left.
"Miss Brooks, if we hadn't left when we did, the cops would have shown up, and that would not have made for good press. The last thing we need at this point in the boys' career is to have them associated with police and an inconsequential accident at an out of the way restaurant. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but we all have to think of the boys here," he said.
"Oh, god, I'm so sorry...I didn't even think about that," Arianna said. She turned to Rick, the other bodyguard whos' eardrums she had just ruptured with her screeching and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"I didn't mean to scream at you. I'm sorry if I hurt your ears," she apologized.
"WHAT?!?" he yelled, smiling.
"You dork!" Arianna laughed, knowing he was just teasing her, thinking to herself, 'I'm really glad I'm getting to know these guys. They're so important in keeping my Nicky out of trouble.'
"So, anyways, can we smoke now?" AJ whined.
"Yeah, Bone, we can smoke," Arianna said, pulling a pack of Newports out of her purse.
"Aw, shit girl, you know I hate menthols!"
"Fuck you! I like them, and if you don't want a cigarette that bad..." she teased.
"GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!!" AJ yelled, grabbing for her pack.
"Ok then, let's just get back home. I need to call my sisters. I have some news for them that I think they're going to want to hear." Arianna sighed.
As the limo pulled into the driveway, there was a light on in the house. Puzzled, Nick and Arianna got out of the limo, followed by AJ and walked towards the front door.
