History
Troop 89 was chartered in May of 2001 by the Irvine First Methodist Church.
Troop 89 was not formed by novice Scouters, but out of seasoned, veteran Scouts.
All of the initial members of Troop 89 were former Scouts, Leaders, or Eagle Scouts
from Troop 144, Irvine Kentucky.  Troop 144 has been Chartered since 1944.

Work was begun by Eagle Scout, Dr. James D. Hill, to select a Charter Organization,
and in May of 2001, the Irvine First Methodist Church, Dr. Hill,
Scoutmaster Farwell, and sixteen Scouts formed Troop 89.
