The commonly known national dances of the Kachins are Manau, Htawngka, Ka Ji Byu, Da gaw, Kabung and Ndaw Nhkrang.
Manao is danced by the Kachins or the Jinghpaws. This dance derived from Animistic worship. Originally, the Kachins
worshipped the spirits of water, earth, forests, mountains, the world, heaven, air, the moon, the sun and the universe.
They also worshipped the spirits and souls of their deceased ancestors.
