When you look into Mental Disorders you are bound to come across the term "DSM-IV" and how it is used to determine which mental disorder you may have.
What Does DSM-IV Mean?
DSM-IV stands for Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition™ and is the standard classification of the different Mental Disorders that exist. The Manual is used in the United States by a wide variety of Mental Health Professionals.
There are 3 major components in the manual:
- the diagnostic classification.
