Born in Baltimore, moved to Israel in 1975, lived in a trailer home on a Galilee mountaintop while serving as a drill sergeant in the IDF.  Involved in theater since 1980, Uri has worked with numerous theater & dance companies & schools, is a former member of Academy for the Israel Theatre Prize, & a founding member of A.M.B.I.- Association of Israeli Stage Designers.  From 1990-96 resident lighting designer/technician for the Jerusalem Khan Theater, in which capacity he served as chief electrician for the Israeli-Palestinian production of Romeo & Juliet both in Israel and on three European tours.  Uri has been technical director for the Tzavta Theatre Club and the Gerard Behar Center in Jerusalem, and the Baltimore Theatre Project in Maryland, USA.  He has toured with Israeli & French companies in Europe & North America.  Until last year taught stage lighting at Emunah College in Jerusalem and the Kibbutz Seminar in Tel Aviv.  Presently living with his wife in Paris, Uri continues to design lighting for various theatre & dance companies in both Israel & France, tours France with several productions as technical director (regisseur), & consults on theatre planning & architectural lighting projects.  Web site- www.lightdesign.co.il
