Serena intoduces herself as "Bunny" (direct translation of her Japanese name "Usagi"). She is 14 years old and is in the 8th grade. On her way to school (late again!) she trips over a black cat who has a banage on her forehead. Upon removal of the banage, Bunny discovers a cresent moon patch, but then hears the school bell ring.

During the school day, we learn of Bunny's love of food, her poor grades, and meet her friends Molly and Melvin. During lunch, they talk about a jewelery store robbery and how Sailor V, a mysterious heroine, stopped it. This leads Molly to invite Bunny over to her mom's jewelery store, to check out the big sale going on.

While at the store, we find Molly's mom might have a darker side. When Bunny realizes she does not have the allowence to buy anything she wanders outside. She bumps into a guy in a tuxedo who "thinks he's so cool", and leaves frustrated. He goes into the jewelery store looking for the Silver Imperium Crystal. On the way home, Bunny goes into the arcade to play the Sailor V game and once again sees the cat with the cresent spot.

Molly's mom is not what she appears to be. She has actually used the jewels to drain the energy from humans.

Meanwhile, the cat the the cresent spot enters Bunny's bedroom and talks to her. She introduces herself as Luna and gives Bunny a broch. Luna tells Bunny she is the choosen warrior to fight the enemy, Sailor Moon, and is to use the brooch to transform. After calling out "Moon Prism Power Make Up" Bunny turns into Sailor Moon and learns Molly is in trouble.

Sailor Moon runs to save Molly from the witch her "mom" turned out to be. However, the witch sends the zombies of those she has drained after Sailor Moon. After trying to run away and cry, Luna instructs Sailor Moon to throw her tiara, which turns the enemy to dust.

Tuxedo Mask enters the scene, commenting about the lack of the Silver Imperium Crystal. Sailor Moon is entranced and ignores Luna who is planning strategy.

The next day at school, Molly tells everyone how "Sailor V's partner" saved her the night before. Bunny realizes it wasn't just a dream and Luna smiles. But, the battle has just begun...
