Check this out!!!
Since my brother was little, he loved working with cars. My brother and I both raced cars. (yes sister too!) He
made numerous model cars when he was younger. He built pinewood derby cars in Boy Scouts. He also raced RC (radio
controlled) cars for a while. Then, onto big cars as he grew. He was a wonderful body worker/painter. He could also weld
and do engine work. As far as stereos, well, thats another talent he had. When we threw the anniversary party for my parents
3 days before he died, he brought a stereo that had to be brought in with a flatbed withtruck! When my
brother died, he was restoring a 1968 Chevelle. My father has vowed to finish it for him.

1997-98 Dad brought the car in pieces to his garage and sorted through
the parts, completed
frame assembly, and completed the motor. (350 boared, stroked, decked, blueprinted
and balanced with tune port-injection from Vet.) Also 4 speed transmission with 4:11 rear end.
2000. We got a huge 30x30 garage where the body was put on the chevelle. The
garage is "decorated" with tropheys, pictures, and flags all associated with Racing and Car Shows.

"Billy was working on a '68 Chevelle. He had always wanted to take the body off of the
frame and build one from the frame up. The frame is white in this picture but after he painted it white he changed to
yellow with gold pearl on the frame and purple on the rear end and springs. He had purchased all new components, brakes,
ball joints, bushings etc. for the frame. This was in 1997. Dad decided to finish the car and have fun with the
project. What was started with the love of a car is to be finished with the love of a son. |
1998 Dad found 1978 Chevy motor home with bad motor and decided this would be
good for finding parts for the Chevelle. Going to swap meets. He rebuilt the motor and put tires and
brakes on, this took time (it could even be used to go on vacation with). He has been to the spring show at Carlisle,
fall show at Hershey, Pa been to North Carolina for parts and some parts picked up in New Hampshire. Found parts on
E-Bay and has a piece from about every State. He has also used Year One catalogue and 1-800 Chevelle. He says
when working on the project it is important to enjoy the journey and sometimes that is the best part of the trip.
2001 Billys Uncle Bill squirted the paint on the car. This was the first
car that Uncle Bill painted. Uncle Bill has painted industrial parts for years for a living but never had the opportunity
to paint a car. (Ironically, the first car Billy ever painted when he was about 15-16 was for his Uncle Bill.)
The car was painted in our garage after which Dad had to clean the garage again.
