Concert Reviews

Wow-wee! Where to start, hmmm, well I guess from the very moment I arrived in San Antonio Texas! When we got there it was about 5:00, and that was the time i pretty much wanted to arrive at the Verizon Wireless Amphetheater, much time was going by really fast and my parents needed to do sometihngs before the concert and I still had to go buy camaras. After I had done everything that was needed to be done, done we set off to the Amphetheater! The trip there was heart pounding! as we neared the entrance to the parking lot, my little eyes widened more then they had ever done before. It was 7:00 and that was when the first bad was gonna setup and the doors were gonna be opened. We waited in the car line for about 30 mins, and then when we got off there was still another line to deal with, which was the entrence line. After we (My mom, and myself) got off the car we could hear something coming from the towards the stage area...in my disbelif someone screamed "Hey i think Blinks playing!" I felt everything drop to the bottom of my knees, the line was going slower and slower and Blink182 was playing, i was sooo gonna miss them! I felt the tears swell up. But as I listened closer, i noticed that it wasnt Blink, at all! It was Jimmy Eat World, i was so relieved to hear the "Authority song", my mom, and me jammed out in the parking lot, till about 8:05 when we finally reached the gates, we got in with my sneaking little cameras in my shoes ; ) and headed to our seats, I had seats in the 303 section row W or something like that, and my mom had a lawn seat. Originally my dad was sopposed to go with me, but last min. changes of plans made my mom come with me so, she didnt wasnt to lose me anywhere so we kinda just waited a while and looked for two empty seats. We found some and sat down, waiting for Green Day to setup since we had completely missed Jimmy Eat World, we waited a while and kinda got kicked from those seats when someone actually had those seats.We were kicked from seats about 2-3 times before we found completely empty seats. We sat but not for long, Green Started the crowd up and made me jump onto my chair to see more. I wasnt such a hard core Green Day Fan until now, so I can barley remeber the songs they played, it was a good 2 hour performance from them, they really worked the crowd! They played a really cool song and then asked for the ppl in the lawn to come on down, to the pit since it was lookin kinda empty, not to my surprize my mom, didnt let me go, (something about me getting lost in the crowd or something) I was kinda mad because she denied me the right to see Blink, like right there! you know, really close to me! but oh well, i got over it at least i was there! After they played "BasketCase" and some of there OldSkool music from their Kerpluck album and then they played "Shout" and then amazingly Billie Joe asked for some ppl that knew how to play like Bass guitar and Guitar and Drums and stuff, and he pulled up some ppl on stage, after they had played one of green days songs, they annoucnced how the guys were gonna get to keep the stuff, they were totally raging out! I was like, thats soo awsome! Well, Green Day Kept "Horraying" the crowd with thier awsome music they kept me listening the whole time. They had A chicken guy and a bee guy in costume, playing the trombone and trumpet to some of there songs and then, for their finnal-e they played "Time of Your Life" with all this emotion and feeling that whenever I still hear it it sends chills through my back and gives me flashbacks of the concert. *sigh* Ill remember it forever! In the midst of everything, you would think it was calm, until GreenDay came outta nowhere and Smashed all there equipment, and Billie sent his guitar on fire, it was soo sool i had never seen it before done live! Cofetti, lights, smoke, and screams filled the air and their part of the show was over. The lights turned back on and a brief intermission came into play, none of the ppl in the pit that had gone down when Greenday called were obviously gonna not leave. So neither were me and my mom! We sat there all 15 mins. and i called my best bud from the the Amphetheater to share the glory of seeing Blink for my First time! It was so "life changing" when the Red Curtain came down. I couldnt help the happyness tears from falling! They started playing Anthem 2 with some awsome pyros and my Mouth stayed open the whole show, 'cause it was like...Blink-----------> Me, and OH MY GOD, that was not very far from them, and it was soo cool! Tom picked up a pair of ladies undies and welcomed San Antonio, "Te-jas" to the 2002 Pop Disaster Tour! They played all their new songs from the album, then they gave this like "moment of silent meditation for Porn", which was soo cool. They played "Happy Holidays you..." twice once for the ppl in the pit and once for the ppl in the lawn! Next they played stuff from their older albums, the oldies but goodies, and played "josie", the "grandpa song" (which is from their new album), "family reunion", "Whats my age again", "All the small things", and alot of others! The came the truly most amazing thing that Travis has ever done, he......(sorry cant tell till the tour is over, dont want to spoil the surprize for anyone), ....It was truly something to catch on video, or camera (lucky for me i have bad photography skills)! none of the pix came out, but oh well their all in my head! *ahhhh* where there supposed to be! Tom Played and acoustic version of "what went wrong" then the band came later in the song. They played "Carosal", and definatly rocked the house all night long! They ended the show with "Dammit"The concert Eneded with Tom smashing his guitar and Blinkbeing carried away in strechers...I went home sitting in the car with my eyes closed trying to relive all the moments there, its something I never want to forget, Blink was so amazing and so were Green Day and Jimmy Eat World! Snaps go out to all of them for putting this tour up and running, it must feel great to be loved all over the world! This was truly the best thing i've ever spent money on! I give the tour a possible 15 on a 1-10 scale basis! if you dont have tickets yet get them now and make the trip to see them, this is one of the best things you could do!
