My comments...(and friends comments too!) |
The actual journal, as I receive it... |
|
The text only journal has been archived, at the "Past Entries" link above. Thanks for visiting Marty's Journal. ![]() November 20, 2000 (Monday) Great hearing all the good fortune you had last week! A walking partner! That's a wonderfun person! HI Mary! Thanks again for joining the 'Popoki's Litter'. It's a tiny group of animal lovers that are owned by some dominant kitties. I met Bammers, aka Becky Mae, in southern Illinois. We chatted all of 5 minutes. It was so cold and there wasn't a handy place to eat. I took a picture, grabbed my new kitty and turned around heading home. The entire round trip took less than 5 hours. I guess I had a pretty good week too! I'll be posting your new pictures in the very near future. I've been putting some things off... how normal of me. ;-D ![]() You ARE amazing! :-) ![]() |
When I asked Wiz what she thought of the idea of me keeping a journal to chronicle this "excellent adventure" of mine, she thought it was a good idea. I had never done anything like this before, but I thought it might be fun. I didn't have time to find an actual "journal" before I went into the hospital, so I made sure that I took a notebook and a pen so I could commit my thoughts t paper. Well......it turns out that I never felt like writing anything while I was actually in the hospital, so these first few entries are re-creations of what was going on....bv ...November 20...
I had a pretty fun weekend, a lot better than the sitting
around I normally do. Friday I went to Tim and Shonda's house.
Tim is a guy I used to work with, about 12 years ago(12 years?!?
Damn, time flies!!!) I haven't seen or talked to him in about
3 years, but I went by his house a couple weeks ago and left
a message with his dad for him to call me. We hung out, fooled
around with some stuff on the computer, and his lovely wife Shonda
made dinner for us...only taco pizzas, but very tasty to me.
A big switch from the Saturday night was poker night. Usually, I lose 15 or 20 bucks that I can't affford to lose, because I suck at poker. The God of the Cards was smiling on me this time, though, and I came out about 26 bucks ahead. A lot of laffing, a little drinking(I had a nice mellow buzz when I left, thank you very much). The only potential downfall was the eating...I sat there and snacked all night long, heavy on the cheese and salami. I could almost feel my arteries hardening as I ate..lol. I am very pleased to report, though, that it didn't show up
on the scale...yet, anyway..lol. I had weighed myself Thursday
because it was support group night, and I weighed the same Monday
morning, 289 pounds. I lost the 5 pounds I gained the previous
week, plus 1. This week might be a little bit of a challenge
because of the holiday, but I think if I can maintain my walking,
everything will be ok. On that note, I hope you alol have a fantastic
Thanksgiving, and eat lots of tasty desserts for me, thanks!!!!
Nice picture, but the most recent image of you is most amazing. You are swimming in those baggy clothes! For a whiny person, you sure smile alot!
