GOOD NEWS!
We have decided to publish more often - at least 3 and perhaps 4 times
a year. It will depend on the
amount of news we receive from you, the information we need for you to have
and how much time I find to put it all together. Life's little problems. Ken and I left for Europe, Bob Kirk did not know that we were leaving, sent us the last 2 remaining packages of Squadron belongings. Then he finds out that we are gone. So, the packages go back to California. He leaves for Pennsylvania. We return home, talk UPS into shipping them back at no cost. UPS in California won't do it. (Poor Nita.) Bob returns home, packages arrive in Connecticut and all is well. Is the moral of the story – don't leave home without letting Bob know??? We all know that he can't leave home without letting us know, right...... We are sorry to have to inform you all
that we have lost Lowell Hahn.
Lowell and Grace were in Arizona for the winter when he became ill.
He spent much time in the hospital, returned home, seemed to be
improving then became ill again and passed away.
Grace is back in Minnesota.
Word has also come of the loss of Odette
Stewart, wife of Gilbert Stewart.
Gil and Odette attended 7 reunions, a most welcome twosome. A note from Bill
Andrews advises of the passing of his wife Helen
in July. We will miss that
gentle, lovely lady with such a big smile.
Helen missed the last few reunions because of poor health but was with
Bill for most of the 11 attended. Bill
also had hip replacement surgery this summer, is walking with a cane but only
temporarily. He is planning on
attending our Boston reunion. Our most heartfelt sympathies go to all
who have lost loved ones. Bill
Hagenah sends word that Jane
Leonard, wife of Jack, is not
well. Bill is looking forward to
joining us for our Boston 2 in 2002 reunion. Phil
Knights informs us that he has moved from Lake Havasu to Mesa, AZ to be
near his son. Gus
Martin has been in the hospital in Oklahoma City for some time.
He fainted, fell and broke his leg.
His whole leg is in a cast – no weight bearing for at least 3 months.
We hope that he is back home in Coalgate when you receive this mailing. Phyllis
Warnimont is home recuperating from her hospital stay in Denver.
She is on medication and feeling better.
Has managed to gain some weight. Vere
McKinnon's daughter informs us that Vere
died on May 30, 2000. His wife
Doris is now living in an assisted care facility. Jack
Finklea has sent in a new address: See
