Exposed: Pro Wrestling's Greatest Secrets (NBC Special), TLC's Secret World Of Professional Wrestling and Gallacher: NBC Special: This is an 'expose' on professional wrestling and shows how it's really done. Amongst the secrets of the wrestling business that are exposed are: basic moves such as the bodyslam, punches and eye pokes, the booker, signs (they claim the promoters give the fans the signs!), spot calling, the ring, the referee, how to get heat, 'planted' fans, how to take falls, illegal objects, blading and finishing moves. While this show has been criticised by most people within the wrestling business, it still makes for fascinating viewing for anyone who wants to see how they do it.

TLC: This is a documentary on professional wrestling. Unlike the A & E special which charted professional wrestling's history from the beginning to the present day, this show covers a number of topics in no particular order. Amongst those interviewed for the show are: Vince McMahon, Dave Meltzer, Steve Austin, Eric Bischoff, Randy Savage, Billy Gunn, Ted DiBiase, Ken Shamrock and HHH. Amongst the topics that are covered are: travelling on the road, the war between the 'Big Two', gimmicks, a wrestling school, small-time promotions, lucha libre, marketing, commentators, injuries and legends of the past. You probably won't learn much from this show you didn't already know, but it still makes for an enjoyable show.

Gallacher: (a Canadian chat show). The first interview is with Ken Shamrock, who discusses his UFC days, and his time in the WWF. A very good interview. The second show features Val Venis, who is even better and makes a good showing for himself. He even takes part in a little segment similar to 'Blind Date'! //

All Pro Wrestling 'At It's Hardcore Best' 2 (Commercial/Handheld) & ICP Stranglemania (Commercial): Lady Brenda debuts little Dic Grimes (19/9/97) / Jay Smooth & Tony Jones vs Vic & Dic Grimes (***, 19/9/97) / Lady Brenda vs JR Benson (**1/2, Halloween Hell , / /31/10/97) / The ultimate post match carnage-Boom Boom Comini attacks Brenda until the Grimes Bros make the save . JR Benson takes having your butt kicked to another level with Pumpkins , a Chair , a Tool Box , a VCR , a Car , a Golf club , a Chainsaw , a bag of bugs (!) , a Table and Barbed Wire . (31/10/97) / Close up backstage footage of a bloody Benson (31/10/97) / Vic Grimes vs Erin o'Grady (*****, early '98) / Those rock legends Insane Clown Posse play Beavis and Butthead with a music video substitute . Basically a collection of the best bouts from the infamous 1995 IWA King of the death matches tournament . Plus the Mushroom Boys square off in an awesome glass death match , Cactus Sac & Leather Balls vs Deadly Fred & Lamanamanemai in a no rope barbed wire , thumbtack death and the big $25.00 battle royal ! Awesome , brutal action with hysterical commentary by ICP . Strong language , a new spin on old ring names and conclusive proof that ICP could be good for something . Side splitting. //

TSN's 'Off The Record': A fascinating tape featuring the following shows

-Bret Hart: This was the show taped a few days before the infamous Survivor Series show in Montreal. Bret discussed the rumours regarding his possible departure from the WWF, his Survivor Series match, his opinions on his and other WWF storylines, the new WWF attitude, and WCW. If you can't work out whether the whole 'Bret screwjob' was a work, or not, watch this so it can answer a few questions.

- Vince McMahon: The event after the event. McMahon was featured over two successive days, so this features two 'Off The Record' shows featuring McMahon. These shows occured about a year ago, and was gripping television. The host, Michael Landsberg, grilled McMahon about that fateful night in Montreal, and the events that led up to it. Vince is very candid in his views and is eventually made to admit that he lied to Bret in order to screw him. The second show is just as interesting as it features McMahon discussing the state of play in the Monday night wars, at that point in time. He also discussed the WWF's adult direction, WCW, and many of the biggest personalities in the business. Classic stuff.

- Bret Hart: Bret is featured again in early December 1997, and discusses the 'screwjob'. He talks in-depth about his feelings towards McMahon, Earl Hebner (just hear the story on that situation), the other WWF officials and Shawn Michaels. He also discusses the current state of play in both the WWF and WCW, and his hopes and aspirations for his new life in WCW.

-Bobby Heenan: This interview features Heenan along with a baseball player and a comedian. Heenan is on form here and cracks everyone up with his fine sense of humour.

-'Stone Cold' Steve Austin: An awesome interview from early-April. Coming hot on the heels of Austin's Wrestlemania triumph, Austin discussed many topics with Landsberg. He discussed his days in WCW, his gimmick, his popularity, the WWF, WCW, his friendship with the late Brian Pillman, Wrestlemania, the Bret screwjob and lots more. Also get to see Landsberg embarass Austin on one point, though I won't reveal it here.

-Eric Bischoff: The tape concludes with another excellent interview, this time with the President of WCW. Bischoff has opinions on everything, and lets us know what he thinks of the WWF, Vince McMahon, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Ted Turner, the nWo, and lots more beside. Is he an asshole in real life, or not? This may help you decide.
