This picture is very similar to the previous work. It is called "Wheat Fields With Crows" and was painted in July of 1890. One way that it is similar is the brush stroke style used in this work. It is very typical of Van Gough's works, yet its not considered Fauvism due to the symbols that are used in the work. Also, this painting, as in the previous one, has a contrasting foreground and background. The forground utilizes light colors which add a substantal contrast to the darker background. This creates the feel of seperation. Also in this work, the dark of the crows in it mix the two plains. The road that also goes down the middle almost acts as if it divides the image into an Eastern and Western hemispheres.
