6 wins in 6 starts showed that extensive testing and development in the off season with AEC Racing Engines and technical support  has shown the  2014 season was a perfect one. Werth Race Engineering will be making a bid for the run in the SCCA Pro Racing Division under the TransAm race series.    Please check back as we are in talks with several manufactures to test and highlight new products and services.

Driver Profile and History

The Driver

Jeff Werth has been racing cars since 1984.  His first

year, he won 2 autocross championships as well as best in class

at the World of Wheels car show with a Datsun 510.  He eventually graduated to the road racing ranks, but Jeff did not forget his racing roots.  He  autocrossed his 510 off and on until 1992, when he won  his 6th autocross championship.

Faster had to be better, so in 1985, he raced in the Sports Car Club of America’s (SCCA) Improved Touring Class (ITC) at Summit Point Raceway in his 2nd Datsun 510.  This was Jeff’s first of many road racing championships.  Jeff moved on to SCCA’s GT (Grand Touring) class in 1987 after winning 2 Mid-Atlantic Road Racing ITC Championships.  He remained loyal to Datsun but switched to a 210 for the GT5 class.  He competed at the  Regional level for 1 year, won the championship and in 1988 moved to the National level.  This began his incredible string of 4 straight SCCA Southeast Division National championships in GT5.

Jeff first earned an invitation to attend the SCCA National Championships (“the Runoffs”) in 1988.  Incredibly, he won the Bronze Medal in GT5!  Podium finishes became a habit for Jeff.  Over the next 6 years racing a Datsun 210, he subsequently won 3 Silver Medals and 3 National Championships (two at Road Atlanta and the first ever National Champion at Mid-Ohio.

Some of his awards include the Washington, DC Region’s Dick Lord Trophy and Frank Pohanka Award.  The Nissan Motorsports Corporation bestowed upon him its “Nissan Rising Star Award.”   SportsCar Magazine named Jeff one of road racing’s “Rising Stars” in 1992.
