MCC v Rest of the World

On the 18th of July, 22 of the best players in the world will play in a benefit match for the 'Diana Princess of Wales Memorial '. The venue for this match between MCC XI and World XI is the LORDS cricket ground in London. Indian viewers can see the telecast live on Sony Television Channel . Two former captains have been asked to lead the two sides. Former England Captain Micheal Atherton will lead the MCC XI ,while Indian "whiz kid" Sachin Tendulkar captains the World XI. The exciting part is that there are totally 5 Indians selected on the two teams. But , Azhar , Saurav , Srinath and Anil are on the MCC side while Sachin will be the lone Indian on the World XI side. It will be a treat to watch Donald and Mcgrath bowling in tandem and with Srinath (who has recovered)to follow the World XI batsmen will fine the going tough. To make it really exciting , the World XI has a dream opening pair of Jayasuriya and Anwar. Sachin and Aravinda together at the wicket will give nightmares to any bowler in the World.

The only players missed will be Brian Lara , playing County championship in England and Shane Warne who pulled out of the MCC XI cos of injury. His place has been taken by our Anil Kumble.
