This page is dedicated to the greatest financial strategy I ever seen.

Although MicroPROSE always produces great strategies, this time I was surprised
with fun, quality and graphic of the Chris Sawyer's game - Transport Tycoon Deluxe.
This game became my favorite two years ago and it still my favorite (Who played this game knows what am I talking about). Here you will find some stuff about Transport Tycoon Deluxe. So if you have anything to say about Transport Tycoon - just mail me.

       WHAT TRANSPORT TYCOON DELUXE IS?
So, you probably guessed that Transport Tycoon Deluxe is a computer game. You're right! It is improved edition of the great game Transport Tycoon and it's even better! Actually it is the one of the best strategy games of all times! If you are strategy fan and didn't try it yet - you ought to do so!
Transport Tycoon Deluxe is financial strategy - it means you have to earn money, not to kill some orcs.

       HOW TO PLAY?

OK, your goal in this game is to create a transport company and become a monopolist in transportation! First, if you have registered copy of TTD, you'll find enough information about game in your manual. You probably smart enough to start a new game in TTD on your own, but I'll tell you anyway.
Start TTD, than choose New Game and choose scenario you want to play (if it's demo than you can't choose scenario). In the new game you can name your company and choose face and name for your Manager. Than you'll have to place your Head Quaters (HQ). It's easy. Now you can start to build your transportation system. You have 4 types of vehicles - Road vehicles (Buses and Trucks), Trains, Ships and Planes (in demo only Trains are available). Better to start with road vehicles or trains. At the of the screen you'll see the menu - just experiment with menu buttons and figure out how to use them. Now choose from menu button with the railroad tracks picture.
Find some town and build one Train Station - you'll find how to do it. Now find nearest town and build other Train Station. Connect them with railway tracks. It'll require some practice.
After all this build Train Depot, make sure that Depot is properly connected to the track. Now click on the depot, choose New Vehicles and build new train and one passenger carriage. I won't explain you everything,so try to find out how to give orders to the train where to go. In general learn all the tricks on your own - it's not so hard. I will say only that every vehicle should have at least two stations where it can load and unload cargo and passengers.
So, just get some experience during the game and start making money! This game is not complicated to play! You can check my section Strategy for more information how to play.

Know that demo version is allows you to play ONLY from 1930 to 1932, anyway
it's enough to get feeling of the game.

       STRATEGY OF THE GAME

Of course everybody has own strategy in TTD, but I'll give you some advises about strategy.
Here is my opinion on strategy of the game:
First, you should start to build your transport routes as fast as you can (pretty obvious, huh?), so you can start earning money. I like to start with buses - they are cheap and you can build big enough system to earn a lot of money. Better build routes between two big or medium sized towns - it brings you bigger profit. During construction of your bus system you should start train cargo transportation, such as coal, livestock. It will bring you more profits. Start like this will give you some opportunities to survive in the harsh world of business.
Now, find all major profitable routs and take over them, to prevent concurents from doing that. Always keep track of the goverment subsidies; it is your chance to make lotsa money! Also, when you will have, say, $1,000,000 - you can buy share value of any company. By buying share and selling it when company will raise its value, you can earn money - stock market, see! By the way, you can buy whole company, but be aware that along with all routes and vehicles you will also get all company's debts.
One more useful thing - try to build different types of the stations in one place, integrate them, so it will become one station. Than you'll be able to load and unload cargo of differtent types of the vehicles.

       TRICKS AND HELP

OK, the major trick! When you're starting the new game do not build anything! Try to build tunnel from one coast to another (from one side of the world to another), it doesn't matter how long is the tunnel, it just have to be very expensive. Instead of saying that you don't have that much money, game will give you billions of dollars or whatever currency you use. I will put some more tricks later. So far, if you have anything to ask about strategy and tricks of TTD just mail me, and I'll post the answer here.
