background sound




Putting background sounds on your e-mail and web page can be very advantageous. You want to make sure, however, that you don't go overboard. I recommend not using rams (real audio) on your e-mail, because they take forever to load and will not allow your viewer to back out of your letter. I suggest midis or wavs.





There are two codes you can use to put background sounds on your e-mail. The first is simple, but is not accepted by as many browsers as the second. I would use the first for e-mail and the second for web pages.

1.) <<>bgsound src="url of sound"<>>

2.) <<>embed src="url of sound" autostart="true"<>>

Just replace "url of sound" with the address of the sound you want to play. To find the address of a sound on pages where they offer them for free, click on the link to the song and then hit "go to" on your keyboard and select "show last." The address that appears in the box is the one you need.

You also have the option of making your viewers click on a speaker in order to listen to your sound. That code is the same as #2 up above, but without the autostart="true":
