James Van Der Beek plays the character
Dawson Leery the star of Dawson's Creek.
Dawson is 16 years old, and is a sophmore
in Highschool. He idolizes the big screen
film writer Steven Speilburg. Dawson is
an only child and lives with his mother
and Father.
Dawson went through a time period that
he had a big crush on Jen Lindly. They
went out, and got together, but that didn't
last long. Jen got jealous of Dawson and
Joey's friendship. Which has been going
on since both were very small. Toward the
end of this season, Dawson and Joey's
friendship becomes more involved. They have
now been together, and broken up many times.
Dawson is going through a lot, with the
regular pressure of highschool, the stress
of him filming his own writen movie, this
Joey thing, and now his parents Mitch and
Gail Leery's marriage has hit a rough spot,
and gets the two seperated. Mrs. Leery
cheated on her husband with her co-worker
Bob. Dawson is now living with his mother,
since his Dad moved into his own apartment.
Gail missed Mitch and wants him back. But she
later finds out that Mitch is seeing Nicole,
(Dawson's film teacher) He discribes her as
"A colleague, alright, she's smart, she's
funny, and I enjoy spending time with her."
