My life isn't about keeping score. It's not about how many friends I have...Or how accepted I am. Not about if I have plans this weekend or if I'm alone. It isn't about who I'm dating, who I used to date, how many people I dated, or if I haven't been with anyone at all. It isn't about who I kissed, It's not about my personal sex life. It isn't about who my family is or how much money they have...Or what kind of car I drive. It's not about how handsome or ugly I am. Or what clothes I wear, what shoes I have on, or what kind of music I listen to. It's not about if my hair is blond, red, black, or brown...Or if my skin is too light or too dark. Not about what grades I get...Or how others think of me...Or how smart standarized tests say I am. It's not about what clubs I'm in or how good I am at "my" sport. It's not about representing my whole being on a piece of paper and seeing who will "accept the written me." But, life is about who I love or choose to love and who I hurt. It's about who I make happy or unhappy purposefully. It's about keeping or betraying trust. It's about friendship, used as a sanctity or weapon. It's about what I say and mean, maybe hurtful, maybe heartening. About starting rumors and contributing to petty gossip. It's about what judgements I pass and why. And who my judgements are spread to. It's about who I've ignored with full control and intention. It's about jealousy, fear, ignorance, and revenge. It's about carrying inner hate and love, letting it grow, and spreading it. But most of all, it's about using my life to touch or poison other people's hearts in such a way that could have never occurred alone. Only I choose the way those hearts are affected, and those choices are what my life's all about.
The experience. It's been about learning who you are, learning what the world has in it, learning how to learn, learning what the questions are, not just the answers. Learning how to fail and try all over again. Learning to trust the inner voice that will tell you the right thing to do. And learning how to love. Along the way, I made some friends. Along the way, I made someone's day. Along the way, I have fallen in love. Along the way, I made the grade. Along the way, I made a success of myself because I believe in faith.
