Me and my Borracho
Brothers love to gather for a drink, share stories and
jokes, talk
about the day's work or maybe talk about anything under the sun or the
moon. It is one good way to unwind after a hard day's work or when we
feel too much "Techno Stress".
Our drinks include San Miguel Beer ( mostly right after payday when finances
are still high). Tequila, Whisky, Sake, Pastis (when we welcome visiting friends
or long lost friends from an Official Business abroad - provided that friend
brings his own Tequila or Sake
or Whisky ). We have a rare treat of Lambanog or Tapuy when some friends
bring them from far south or from the Mountain provinces. However our
favorite is the lowly but ever faithful San Miguel Gin (cheap but it can give
you the 'spirit') - we drink this when we only have a few pesos to spare or on
a rainy friday afternoon.
With any of the above drinks, we serve a PULUTAN. As a Borracho I have learned the skill of cooking PULUTAN
and became good at it.
