Boadicea: Who was this Woman

Boadicea or Boudic(c)ea was Queen of the Iceni and led a rebellion agenst the Romans in 60-61 C.A.. She bacame leader of the tribe after her husband Prasutagus' death. In his will he left his posetions to both Rome and his Daughters. This was not enough for Rome. so "the Procurator Cutus Dicianus who was the finantial administrator of the British provence seized all the land, had Boadicea flogged, and her daughters publically raped. This outraged the tribe because of the mistreatment of the royal family and the treatment of Britons in general. The were treated like Roman slaves. Boadicea gathered herself together and instigated the rebellion. The tribe marched thru Canulodunum and london. This army of 120,000 killed over 80,000 Romans that were in those towns. Eventually Boadicea and her army met up with Suetonius and were defeated by the Romans. Insted of being captured Boadicea was thought to have taken poison and ended her life.

This great lady and her courage was the reason i took the Circle name and the net name of Boadicea. I have a degree in history and poly sci and getting one this year in psychology. My real name is Anita and i'm wiccan. This is how I describe myself also that i live animals, Music, movies and Martial Arts. I"m a college student( been one for 10 years) and hopefully will graduate with 200 hours. I love to teach( thoug i'm not a teacher only a sub i cussed out the teachers ed dept at my college for teachibng BS and not useful stuff. The profs need to get in a real classroom and to see what goes on IMO). I"m not good at crafts, i'm not an artist, i'm just little ole me a 28 year ols blonde. There is not much to tell about me I lead a borring life so i have no great adventurs to tell of unless you want to count going to Wal-mart.hehehe. I have many friends on the net and yes i'm hooked on chat i never thought it would happen but it has.

About things I like . Music is one all kinds but country. love AC/DC, Blondie, movie soundtracks like the Crow, and Lorenna McKinnit. I love books also and authors like Marion Zimmer Bradley, Misty Lackey, Anee Rice, Nancy A. Collens, and books with strong women. I also love Silver Ravenwolf's books which I feel are reat wiccan studies books.

Now about wicca which is a big part of my life. Wicca is not an evil religion we do not kill animals or children we do not believe in the devil and we do not believe in hell. Wicca see in all things aspects of the devine. We worship both the Female and Male spects of the devine. I feel that when my soul leaves this body that it will so to the Summerland and then when the time comes come back in a new form to learn more. I feel that there are many ways to the Devine Wiccan is one of them my Godeess Andrasta and my God Cernunnos are one way to the devine. I feel all religions are valid and all lead to one thing peace within your soul and being one with the devine. What makes me so mad is that some cant' see that many paths are valid and those who have another path are just as committed to their beliefs as those who condim. I hope to be able to educate people on wicca not to convert but to bring about aan understanding between all. Merry Meet, Merry Part, and Merry Meet Again

Pentacle

The pentacle is a circle surrounding a five-pointed, upright star. It is worn as a symbol of a Witch's belief and used in magickal workings. Each point on the star has a meaning: Earth,Air, Fire, Water, and Sprit. Pentacles are not worn inverted in the Craft. Many witches consider this blasphemy of their faith. HOwever, an inverted pentagram is used in some second degree initiations, not to indicate evil, but to fulfill a function of growth.
