There are two known varieties, differing slightly in the placement
of the data logotype. The reverse is a re-use of one of the 1870-CC
dies. Breen's comment about "doubled die reverse" on this and other
early CC eagles is incorrect: it is strike doubling from loose
dies.
A specimen slabbed as MS62 is known to exist. It auctioned for
$44,000 in a Feb. 1995 Heritage sale.
