PCGS VF35

Type: 6e

Recommended Grade: VF30 or VF35

There are two known varieties, differing slightly in the placement of the data logotype. The reverse is a re-use of one of the 1870-CC dies. Breen's comment about "doubled die reverse" on this and other early CC eagles is incorrect: it is strike doubling from loose dies.

A specimen slabbed as MS62 is known to exist. It auctioned for $44,000 in a Feb. 1995 Heritage sale.
