Introduction

"All we know is that the fate of the entire world rests on the -- did you eat all the jellies?"

Salutations, here comes issue #9! It's was time for five all-new Buffy Episodes... However, next week's episode, "Earshot", will be canceled for many people in North America as a result of the tragic incident in Colorado. Late last night, I got a call from the WB publicity people confirming the rumor that I'd been hearing all day. Due to the horrific tragedy in Littleton, Colorado, the WB is pulling "Earshot," the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode that was supposed to air next Tuesday, and replacing it with a repeat of the episode "Bad Girls" (the one when Faith kills a human.) Click here for more information.

Should the episode of Buffy have been pulled? Vote Here! I don't know. Maybe pulling the show demonstrates respect for the victims. Although the WB hasn't yet decided on Earshot's rescheduled air date, my guess is that the episode will have to air at some point soon (it is an integral part of the season finale). However, if the WB's motive is to lessen the amount of violence on TV, it seems like next week's repeat is even more vehement! On May 4, it is emphasized that "Choices", an all-new episode will still premiere!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the WB has ordered a full season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the 1999-2000 season. As we know, it is also confirmed that Charisma Carpenter will be playing Cordelia Chase on the Buffy spinoff Angel this fall. WB has ordered 13 episodes of the new series. The month of May will be bringing us new episodes of Buffy as Season Three comes to an end on the May 25th.

In the episode "Enemies," Angel pretended to lose his soul so that he could get information from Faith about the upcoming Ascension of the mayor. We asked: Do you think that Faith and Angel slept together in that episode? What did you think? Sixteen people said "Yes". Twenty-one believed it was possible and thank goodness...eighty-seven said "Absolutely Not".

Sneak Peek at the Next "Buffy"

Buffy is haunted by the consequences of her and Faith's reckless behavior, while an increasingly destructive Faith refuses to feel remorse for slaying a man. The new watcher Wesley, overrides Giles's objections and instructs the two slayers to investigate the murder. Knowing the truth about the man's death, the mayor and Mr. Trick are thrilled by the possibility of imprisoning a slayer for murder.

Review of Last "Buffy"

Until now Xander's only superpower seemed to be his razor-sharp tongue. If Buffy wasn't saving his skin, Willow was thinking circles around him. But when a horde of long-haired she-demons come to town, Xander seizes the chance to be a hero. It's a night of bombs and bombshells, as he bounces from one bizarre experience to the next: zombie teens, a close encounter of the naked kind with Faith, a faceoff that's the bomb (literally). Wherever he looks it's fenders, fangs, Faith and frenzy. Not only does Xander save Sunnydale High from the big kablooey, but he gets a date (now that's amazing). Buffy and the gang may still see the same old Xander, but beneath the old exterior he's got a secret little strut. Even Cordy's claws can't scratch him.

OOPS!

When Jack and Xander are facing off while the bomb timer ticks away, the timing is not correct. At one point, the timer says :11, but two seconds later (and the beeps are audible, so you can count the seconds easily), it says :12. Then, exactly when it should explode, we see that it is at 4 seconds.

Jack says that he couldn't raise his dead friends earlier because he "had to wait 8 months for the stars to align," but he died three weeks ago and his "grandpappy" raised him the same night.

The scene where Xander and Ox are discussing "coolness" starts out with an audio of Xander talking, paired with a shot of cafeteria food being scooped up. In the background of this shot, you can see Xander, Buffy, and Willow at a table. But the next shot (and the rest of the scene) shows just Xander and Oz sitting together.

Hot News

INSIDE INFO FROM "BUFFY"...The WB confirms rumors that a new love will enter Buffy's life after Angel departs for Los Angeles at the end of the season. With Cordelia out of her hair and into Angel's arms, the Buffster will be lonely and bored. The whole pining-for-the-undead trip could be a thing of the past. Will Buff go for a real live flesh-and-blood lover, one who lives on junk food, not blood? Could be a refreshing change. The wanna-be Angel replacements seem to be lining up for the role, and Sarah Michelle Gellar will have a profound influence on who plays the mysterious new beau, according to the New York Post. Since she'll be smoochin' him, that only makes sense. Gellar and show creator Joss Whedon are already working on a storyline to introduce the new character -- who is rumored to meet Buffy when she starts college next fall.

WHAT'S YOUR TYPE?...Need a date? Teen Magazine recently typed out Seth Green (Oz) and David Boreanaz (Angel) so readers could rate their compatibility with the hunky stars. Seth was crowned "class clown" by the magazine -- he rates as a date's dream because of his infectious humor. On the flip side, the clown may sting when he doesn't take others' feelings seriously. David is considered "Mr. Mysterious" and "passion's paradox: darkly handsome but with a lighter, sweeter side" (sounds downright Angelic). If you fall for his type, don't expect the walls around his heart to crumble quickly: you'll have to be subtle yet persistent to capture his love.

WHERE CAN I FIND THEM?...Look for Seth in three coming films: "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me," "Stonebrook" and "Idle Hands." A passionate-looking David can be seen in the May Mademoiselle, posing in an all-white ensemble while lounging in bed with actress Tangi Miller ("Felicity").
