SUMMER BARBECUE &
CHINA'S TIBET AUTONOMOUS REGION DELEGATION


On Sunday July 11, Veronica Yuyitung of the CCS hosted a summer barbecue at her house. Over 60 people enjoyed an afternoon of good food and musical entertainment at this event. The CCS also hosted a Tibetan delegation on Friday July 13. Thanks to all those who came and helped out on this special evening.

JEWS IN SHANGHAI:
THE STORY FOR SURVIVAL


We were proud to help present an exciting theatre event about a very special community numbering close to 50,000 at the end of World War II who were offered sanctuary in Shanghai. 850 people were in attendance for that very special night.

JIAO-ZI PARTY AND SQUARE DANCE

Our annual spring jiaz-zi party and square dance is a special CCS event which combines two diverse cultural events into a very enjoyable evening! Guests come for a special dinner of tasty jiao-zi dumplings followed by square dancing. Beginners are welcome as the dance caller makes it easy to follow.

UNVEILING OF BETHUNE STATUE

Governor-General Adrienne Clarkson attended a very special event in Gravenhurst last year. The CCS co-sponsored an unveiling of a statue of Dr. Norman Bethune, a Canadian doctor who is revered in China for his humanitarian medical work there.
