John 17: The prayer or Jesus 1 y* When Jesus had said this, he raised his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you, just as you gave him authority over all people, so that he may give eternal life to all you gave him. Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ. I glorified you on earth by acomplishing the work that you gave me to do. Now glorify me, Father, with you.

This is MY list of the horror movies i've seen and my REVIEWS on them! JUST IN!!! Review for: "Demons!!!!"NEW LINK: 214 rules when watching a horror flick: 214 rules, made by me with donations

I recently rented both "Demons" films on DVD from my video store, which happens to stock them...dont ask me why. Before watching the movie, I read a few reviews, most of them recommending the movie. So I popped it in the player at about midnight, turned the lights out, and tried to scare myself to death...the frightening thing is...it worked.

I was expecting the film "Demons" to be one of those low budget movies that look cheesy, have bad dialouge, no suspense, terrible make-up and down right lowly acting. Demons, I may now say, takes the cake for one of my favorite horror films. This film is right up there with "Night of the Demons" and "Night of the Living Dead".

What I loved about "Demons" was the Director's (Dario Argento) slick and eerie camera work. His choice of soundtrack was also amazing, made up entirely of 80's punk rock music, even David Bowie's "White Wedding". Quickly going back to the camera work in this film, Argento puts in special care when it comes to his shots, using many different angels and utilizing the resources he had.

"Demons" also has as great plot, unlike many horror movies that have been made throughout the years. It all begins when a girl gets off a train and is given two tickets to a show at a local no-name theater. She gets two tickets, one for her friend, and they decide to skip class to go to the show. Little do they know, that it is a horror movie, filled with gore...blood and pure terror.

Before the show begins, the crowd gathers in the theater lobby. Hanging in the center of the room is a silver mask, which one of the audience members tries on. The mask is horrible looking and is shaped like a demons head. While removing the mask, the girl gets cut in the cheek. She thinks nothing of it, and she follows the crowd into the theater.

The movie begins, and surprisingly, during one of the scenes, the same mask that was in the lobby appears on screen! And even more ironically, one of the characters puts the mask on, removes it, and gets stratched! He then turns into a Demon. The girl in the audience then touches her face and realizes she is still bleeding too. She goes to the bathroom and transforms into a demon too!

Before you know it, almost the whole theater turns into demons! It's wild and crazy! Some of the spookier scenes take place in the back rooms of the movie theater and in between the seats. I love it how Argento's camera work takes her right down in the midst of the action, between the seats, on the floor, behind the screen...UGH! All I must say is that all of these aspects are put together and make for a terrific film.

To cut things short, demons will make you pee your pants during some of the scenes. The make-up is so realistic that you'll want to hide under a blanket and cry! Watching this with the lights out was definatly a mistake!

If your looking for a classic horror film that is different from all the rest, check out "Demons". It has now been re-released on dvd with stunning picture and sound. It is about 88 minutes and presented in an "Unrated" version. Don't watch this alone!

I was forced into seeing "The Others" by my entire family who had already seen the film one Saturday night. Lets just say, i'm glad that they forced me.

From the opening scene to a closing shocker of an ending, "The Others" brought back what a horror/suspense/thriller should be. I would trash all of the "I know what you did last summer's" or "Urban Legend's" for one of these films. Not only did "The Other's" thrill, chill and suprise me, but the acting amazed me.

I must say that when I heard that Tom Cruise was producing this film I was turned off a bit, just because I am used to seeing him act, not produce. Boy was I ever wrong to think that.

"The Others" is for those of you out there who appriciate a piece of cinematic excellence, and despise teen slasher garbage like I do. Sure, I liked the film's "Scream" and "Nightmare on Elmstreet", but you can only go so far before all of that gets all. "The Others" redeem's these three genre's, showing the public what can be acheived when a little good old fashioned plot work is involved.

Nicole Kidman, starred in this film as the character of Grace. She is a single mother of two adorable children. The only problem, is that the children have a disease. All of the curtains in the large estate which Grace and her children dwell in, must be shut at all times, for if they are not, the children, a little boy and a little girl, will break out in hives and convulse to death. They have a certain disease that causes this to happen. All of the sudden, the little girl begins seeing ghosts around the house. From that point on, all hell breaks loose, and be prepared to leave all reality behind.

"The Others" has a shocking ending, remenisent of an M. Night Shymalan film, for ex. (The Sixth Sense or Unbreakable). The scares are few, except the story is what holds this movie together.

Theres not alot to say about this movie because I don't want to give any of it away. All I must say is that the performances are excellent, especially Nicole Kidman's Oscar worthly performance, which is a big reason to see this movie.

If you scare easily, this may not be the film for you, even though, like I said, the scares are few. By scaring the audience a few times only, you are terrified basically throughout the whole movie, in fear that something may pop out or someone might be watching.

For a final thought. I wish they had left the lights on in the theater when I watched this film. It had a creepy undertone to it, that frightened me. Go and see "The Others", if you like a genuine scary movie.

Unlike other films that I see lying on the more than occupied shelves of my local video rental store, it took me awhile to muster up enough interest to rent "Shadow of the Vampire". I must have paced back and forth among the thousands of movie titles, reading the synopsis to "Shadow of the Vampire" almost 10 times. Finally, having finally rented it, I can now explain to you, the reader of this review, how much I liked this film.

"Shadow of the Vampire" is about F.W. Murnau, a German Director who has set his mind to making one of the scariest, and true to life Vampire movies ever made. Having been turned down the rights to re-make Bram Stokers 'Dracula', Munau decides to create his own original film entitled "Nosferatu". Little does Murnau's crew know, that he has found an actual true to life Vampire, Max Shrek, to play the part of Count Orlock, the fictional Vampire. The films plot drives on the insane mind of Murnau, as he takes directing too far, all for a film.

"Shadow of the Vampire", was based on the true story of the making of "Nosferatu the Vampyre", filmed in 1922. This movie was also known as "Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror". To tell you the truth, I had seen Noseratu before I had seen "Shadow of the Vampire", and admitt that upon seeing "Shadow of the Vampire" you should go out and rent "Nosferatu". In all honesty, they should have included the full length motion picture on the "Shadow of the Vampire" DVD.

This film struck me as generally dark, and very disturbing. Disturbing in the sense that a director would even dream of going as far as Marnau had done for his Vampire film. It also frightened me because for all I know, Max Shrek "IS" really a full fleged Vampire.

Generally, Willem Dafoe and John Malkovich both brought this film to such greatness. Willem Dafoe breaths such life into Max Shreks character of Orlock. So much to the point of me being totally, and utterly envious and terrified of his character. His acting was unaquivically superb, bending all of the rules. Not only did he deliver a riviting performance, but also had to withstand the daily applications of make-up, which did not seem to be a very comfortably thing to do.

Malkovich was superb also as Marnau. He had the ability to make me extremely upset towards his character, to the point that I wanted to smash through my T.V. set and strangle him, yet I didn't because I still had 5% compassion towards him, don't ask me why. The only problem that I had with his character was that his German accent did not carry throughout his whole sentences, it was weird! It was like, German was spoken and then that theatrical Malkovich voice came through. This kind of turned me off until I got used to it.

Another character appeared in this film. It was the guy who played Robin Hood from "Robin Hood: Men in Tights". I think his name was is Fritz Wagner. When he arrived in this film, I was first stunned, but got used to the fact that he was on screen. I think he was totally out of place in this movie. Stick to comedies FRITZ!

Overall, some intellegent aspects of this film included the old boxed black and white camera that Marnau used to film the movie. When the camera rolled, the screen became black and white, and the picture seemed to be cut into a black circle like the actul film is. There are many of these black and white sequences, giving this film a classy, sophisticated look.

This film was only lacking in one aspect, its length. While some movies are unbearably long, "Shadow of the Vampire" was way too short. It left me wanting and yearning for more movie! It did not fill my desire for the evening. There was much story yet to be revealed.

Basically, "Shadow of the Vampire" kept my interest. There were moments when it lost me for one reason or another, but all in all, this was an witty film worthy of a rent.

Ten years ago, moviegoers across America met Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a psychologist with an intense lust for human flesh. His character was developed in the film Silence of the Lambs, which will forever remain a classic in the horror genre.

For those of you who have not seen the film, I am not going to spoil it for you, but I will say that its cinematography and suspense far surpassed any film of its kind.

Now, in the year 2001, Hannibal, who has for the last ten years remained dormant in the recesses of Florence, Italy, emerges from his quiet slumber. He is summoned by Detective, Clarice Starling, the same person who tried to put him away in the first film. Many people may be disappointed that Clarice is not played by Jodie Foster, but rather by the very talented Julianne Moore.

As the plot of the film thickens, we come to realize that the only known survivor of Hannibal's wrath, Mason Verger, is heading the search for the man that had once abused him and left his face deformed. The entire film focuses on the character of Hannibal Lecter, played by Anthony Hopkins.

Just like the first film, he is up to his old antics. After being discovered in Italy, Hannibal returns back to his homeland of America. He once again makes contact with now disgraced Agent Clarice Starling, who is suffering the wrath of a malicious FBI official as well as the media. Hannibal will stop at nothing to find Clarice, for one last "Dinner Engagement." This meal would consist of fried brains and some hearty vegetables.

Throughout the movie, there are numerous scenes filled with blood and gore intertwined within a clever and original story line. This is what makes the movie really interesting. The director, Ridley Scott (Gladiator) has developed the personality of Lecter in "Hannibal." The story itself does have violence in it, but Ridley Scott, while depicting an integral part of the story, handled the violence tastefully.

Many are probably asking, is it as good as the original, Silence of the Lambs?

The two movies are very different. In Silence of the Lambs, we were dealing with a caged monster whose intensity was extremely focused. Here, we have a monster on the loose gallivanting around in a great big world, free to indulge in his passions. These passions are not always pleasant, but at times can tend to be interesting.

Anthony Hopkins is, as usual, brilliant. What else are we to expect from an Oscar caliber actor? As Clarice, Julianne Moore was sexy and strong; but, of course, she did not even come close to Jodie Foster's performance in the first film.

Hans Zimmer provided for an engrossing and mesmerizing soundtrack, which set the ambiance for a truly creepy film. The music definitely made the movie scarier, adding an extra layer of terror.

While it is not another Silence of the Lambs, it is a new and fresh sequel that I enjoyed until the bitter end. Of course, like all other hit movies, the ending of Hannibal opens itself up for a third film. You can mark my words that if there is another sequel, I will reserve my ticket far in advance!

"ALLISON'S BIRTHDAY " This movie had no gore in it. Yet, it frightened me very much and its very cleaverly made. The director starts the films as you see a group of girls who are summoning the dead on Allisons Birthday. You watch in terror as one of the girls becomes possessed by an evil spirit who tells Allison that all her birthdays will be hell from now on. The film then skips 10 years in her life and we see Allison absolutely terrified that her birthday is coming up. She does know that if anything happens then her boyfriend will protect her....wont he? Well it unfolds when Allison decides to find out why her life has been so evil and demonic for the last 10 years. But when Allison gets too close, a deadly cult will stop at nothing to stop her from finding out the truth. The ending will amaze you and shock you. One of the scariest endings I have seen. Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"AMITYVILLE HORROR" A classic film that was in fierce compitition with the Exorcist in the 70's. Its a tale about a house that has a very eerie legend to it. The legend went like this: A man one night went crazy, he couldn't stand living anymore. So what happened was, he went from room to room in his house. First he killed one of his daughters then the other with a shot gun. Then he blew apart his wife. Shortly after, he killed himself. This is how the movie starts out. Then you see the story unfold as a new family with two kids move into the house. Once they move in, strange things start to happen. Money is put down on a table for the wedding that day, and is mysteriously missing, never to be found again. After awhile of living in the house, the house itself starts to get violent. It gets into the childrens brains and the husbands. It even posseses one of the children to lock a poor young babysitter in the closet and turn the lights out. The ending is predictable but the story itself is a timeless classic. It is definatly a scary movie if your looking for a good one. Worth a rent in your local video store. Available on VHS.

"APT PUPIL " The story of a boy who finds out that his neighbor was really a Nazi. Once he finds this out, he goes over to his house one day and asks him for the stories of what it was like to be a Nazi in World War 1. Telling the stories though, sparks a flame of passion in the old mans mind. He once again gets visions of death and killing and tries to ever put his cat in the oven!!! He even tries on a Nazi uniform and starts to march in place. It was scary because it could happen any day. Your next door nieghbor could be a Nazi!! I don't recomend this movie to be watched by Jewish families at all. It is a truely disturbing ride into the depths of terror. It streaches the limits in some terms. It definatly freaked me out. That means its worth a rent or even a buy for horror fans. Also, I rented this movie on DVD and the picture and sound quality was superb as always. It was also a full screen picture not widescreen. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Halloween" A classic in horror movie history. This movie is about a killer named Michael Myers who is after a teenage girl (Jamie Lee Curtis. He stalks her, hunts her and tries to kill her. What I thought was great about this film is that it doesn't have much gore at all, yet its the suspense that is scary. What is around that dark corner? Is it Michael, or just a broom ready to fall down? I think this film will be best known for its chilling climactic scenes and spine tingling twists. Is Michael dead after falling out of that window from the second floor? He looks like her is, but, wait?!! He's gone!!! This movie will forever go down in history as one of the BEST ever. Rated: R. Available on VHS, DVD, and Laserdisc. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!

"Halloween: 4" This is an interesting movie, but not worth renting if you really like the Halloween series. It is a disapointment because it is so predicdable and cheezy! The only reason that I recomend you to see this movie is if you want to view all 7 of the Halloween series, but other then that.......this movie is not worth buying or renting. Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT " No gore what-so-ever, yet it left me feeling unsafe. This movie is basically about the dangerous and sickening people of the world. In the film directed by the well aclaimed director Wes Craven, two girls are out on a walk. One of them comes up with a wacky idea. She came up with a challenge. Whoever could get someone on the street to give them drugs first would win. Yet, one man, invited the girls into his house. They are then brutaly tortured and left for dead in the room. The movie doesn't end there. Then the men come back after days, and the girls are still alive!!! Then the men take the girls into the woods and tell them to do all sorts of horrible things. If the girls don't do the things they want, they are shot. I felt that this movie was a call out to people everywhere, to watch out for all these people in the world that can hurt them and to watch out when doing drugs because they never get you anywhere but dead. No matter how you rent or buy this movie, it will never have all the footage in it because a directors cut was never allowed in the U.S. The only audience that saw the directors cut was in the theaters when it came out. I would advise you only to rent this if you are prepared for what you will see. Yet, nothing can prepare you for it. If you are a horror fan though, go rent this film. Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"Urban Legend" Can eating pop rocks and drinking pepsi make your internal organs explode? I saw this one i the theaters. It didn't scare me at all, but I thought it was entertaining. It was all about Urban Legends that somehow all came true at a college. The killer found out all about Urban Legends and killed people according to them. You see people dying one by one. Thats basically all I have to say about this movie except the ending when the killer is revealed is totally unexpected and scary. Its worth a rent, but not a buy. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"FROM DUSK TILL DAWN" Think of the craziest plot and story line ever, and you get this movie. I thought it was TERRIFIC!!! Its about 2 guys who are running from the law and somehow end up in a strip club after taking a girl, her brother and her father hostage. After a few hours at the club though, everyone including the girls turn into vampire's and kill the visiting horn-dogs of men in the club, turning them into "fellow Vampires". Soon everyone in the club is transformed, except for the two men (George Cloony and Quintin Tarentino) the girl and her father. So here they are, fighting a bunch of zombies by themselves!!! Its crazy!!! Eventually it ends in a bloodbath that you will have to rent this movie in order to see. I highly recomend it to horror and movie lovers alike. No matter who you are, if you are under the age of 50, you'll love it!!!! Rent it or buy it now. A new DVD has just came out too!!! I'll rent it very soon. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

UPDATE FROM MASTER PAT: I recently recieved "From Dusk Till Dawn" on DVD from a friend. The special features on the disc include a theatrical trailer and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound. First off, commenting on this DVD is hard to do. Let us start off with sound quality. The rear speakers provide and exciting and in depth surround that will make you jump out of your shorts. The center channel is a diffrent story. I felt that it lacked the intensity and mood. This ment that the voices could not be heard that strongly. If you like this, then this movie is for you. The sound effects, including the spurting blood are evident throughout the entire movie and are flawless. Some of the best effects, I have heard on this DVD. These effects can best be tested out on the first scene of the movie when the two brothers shoot up and burn the guy in the convenience store. Now for picture quality. I felt that the dark scenes of this film (Mostly the whole film) were lacking rich textures and didn't blend very well. This didn't bother me that much, but may disturb others (If the movie doesn't do it first). Since this is a letterboxed version of the movie in 1.85 matte, you may see things that you havn't seen before in the video full screen version. In all honesty, this was a very entertaining DVD, and a great gift to recieve. If your looking for a new DVD to put in your collection this is a good choice. I feel that the director could have put more special features on the disc, like behind the scenes etc, but he didn't. Maybe a new one will come out in the future with all that stuff on it, who knows. Rated: R.

"Creepshow" I thought this movie was very original because it took 4 stories and focused on them. The stories come out of a magazine and are each intensly different in there own ways. They all have tons of gore and frighten you out of your mind. I wont tell you all the stories cause I don't want to give anything away. One story is about a man played by ironicaly Leslie Nielson. He is a sicko and buries a man and his wife under the sand at low tied and the water comes rushing up and drowns them. Yet, its not over. The dead bodies get their revenge and come back to his beach house. At this point they are zombified and they kill Leslie for what he did to them. One other story is about a Meteor that crashes in the back yard of a mans farm house. The man goes out to investigate and decides to touch the meteor. After doing this he goes back to his house. After a few hours, moss and grass starts to form on his body and he freaks out. It doesn't stop there. The grass and moss keeps growing and by the middle of the night, the man is totally covered in grass and moss. I wont give any more away. Its worth a rent though. Available on VHS.

"Silent Night, Deadly night: UNCUT VERSION"...........This movie is definatly worth renting, but ONLY if it is the UN-CUT version. The UN-CUT version has about 20 or so minutes of additional footage. I can't tell you what is in it because I don't want to give it away. I can tell you though that if you like gore or violence ......this is a movie for you! Available on VHS in "R" rated and "NC-17" rated versions. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!

"Sleepaway Camp" It starts out as you hear voices of children who have died around a barren camp. Desolate is a better word to use. All of the cabins lay vacant and the fields remain empty. The camara then fades to a shot of two teenagers pulling one of there friends along on a jet ski. The girl asks her boyfriend if she could drive the boat for awhile. Although he remains skeptic, the boy lets her drive. Not knowing that soon, she would end up killing people. The rest of the movie takes place at camp Arawak. A girl named Angela is the main character (If you can even call her a girl). She is a quite type who doesn't talk. All the girls at the camp harrass her for being so mute. As camp days press on, children begin getting killed. The first to get killed is a boy who gets drowned by the killer. There is also a scene where the chef in the camp gets VERY badly burned when the killer pushes the tub of hot boiling water on him. THIS SCENE IS NOT FOR THE SQUIMISH!!! Basically, at the end of this horror flick which I though was quite good, you find out whom the killer is. Believe me, it is a suprise. On top of that you find out a little note about our friend Angela that will shock, amaze and disgust you. I felt this film had great cinematography from begining to end and it held my interest for the whole film. I have to say there is much more nudity and gore in the second film, but if your in for a scary movie at a sleepover, then this movie is great for you. Worth a rent or buy. A new version of this film will be released soon on DVD by Anchor Bay Entertainment. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Sleepaway Camp 2" "Sleepaway Camp 2" is a terrific and gory sequel to "Sleepaway Camp." It contains Mutilations that may be unsuitable for most and viewer discretion is advised! This movie is about a woman (Who is actually a guy) that killed many in a camp two years before this movie. Her name is Angela, and she needs everything, including perfection from her campers or its off with there heads...........and hands, and feet, and jaws. An interesting movie worth a rent. Also the ending will suprise you, wait till you see what becomes of all the dead campers!! Its not for the squimish. Rated: NC-17. Availabe on VHS.

"Sleepaway Camp 3" DO NOT RENT THIS MOVIE! "Sleepaway camp 3" is a boring completion to the trilogy. I watched this in my room at night and was so bored I fell fast asleep! Not worth a rent, not worth a buy. It is about Angela again, and she is back to kill more campers. Boring, tastless, Stupid. Rated: NC-17. Available on VHS.

"Dead Alive" One of the greatest movies I have seen in my life. It is all about these people that die, but wierdly come back to life! This New Zealand made splatter comedy, opens with an interpid zoo official making off with a captive Sumatran Rat Monkey from Skull Island. The creature is taken to a New Zealand zoo where a series of fateful occurances lead to nerdy Lionel's domineering mother being bit by the foul fiend. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!! The bite doesnt agree with Lionel's mother who wastes no time turning into a gruesome, zombie mess. It doesn't take long before half the village follows suit. It is up to Lionel and his Spanish girlfriend, Paquita, to clean up the mess--most of which is handled by Lionel's lawnmower-hint, hint. It is one of the goriest films ever made and is never afraid to offend. Needless to say this film is not for everybody but if you're reading this, you can probably handle it. It also contains alot of "DARK" humor. A MUST SEE! I bought it, it was so good. Don't buy or rent the "R" rated version though, it has too be the "UN-CUT VERSION" or 20 minutes is cut out maybe more. a great movie, you gotta see it. Rated "NC-17" and "R". Available on VHS, DVD, and laser disc.

"Dead Alive: UNCUT LETTERBOX DVD- This is the movie that will forever change the face of splatter and horror films. Yet, when on VHS, was lacking something. Now, finally comes the DVD as the horror movie of the year. "Dead ALive is back in letterbox, in all of its uncut glory. When I got a DVD player for x-mas, I was so excited, but when "Dead Alive" came out on DVD I was jumping for joy. So I marched down to Coconuts and bought a copy. I popped it in my player and a super cameo menu showed up with eerie music. This disc contains 24 tracks (So you can get to that lawnmower scene faster than ever before) and a theatrical trailer. The only thing that is wrong with this movie is that the picture is way too bright and the picture is washed out in the day scenes, but all of the gore can be seen in its greatness. I would advise that all horror movie fans go out and buy this film, because it only 24 bucks and its truely the greatest. Rated: NC-17. Available on VHS, DVD and Laser disc. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!

A GREAT Dead Alive page: Pictures and much much more

"Blood Diner" I have to say, this movie was the goriest I have seen. It is "NOT RATED" and it has lots of nudity and GORE. I have to say that there is no real plot to this movie because its really demented. It is just killing and mutilating. The only plot I could Identify was when they had to kill people for some wierd cult. It also has a warning in the begining of the movie that says: YOU MUST BE VERY MATURE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE! It has some dark humor and normal humor. Rent it if you have a strong stomach. Rated: NC-19. Available on VHS.

"RE-Animator" "RE-ANIMATOR" was an "OK" movie. At the end there was lots of gore and blood and crap, but the begining was slow. The "UN-CUT VERSION" has a cool scene in it that if you rent it you will find out what it is. I saw the "UN-CUT VERSION" and you should too! alittle slow, but It was a classic horror movie. Rent it if you are the horror fan. Rated: "NC-17" and "R". Available on VHS.

"Don't open till christmas" Forget about this movie cause it is boring and stupid. Also the killing is too fake. Don't rent it or buy it. Rated: R. Available on VHS. I actually think you should buy this film and burn it!!!

"CHILD’S PLAY: A.K.A: Chucky" I have to tell all of you that I am really not a big fan of movies with killer dolls, I thought this one was kind of creepy. The first time I saw it was when I was a child of 5 years old with my dad. Me and him loved this movie so much, but only saw "Made For TV" screenings. The first time I rented this movie, it was a first for me. I said to my self "If my dad ever let me rent this movie when I was a kid, he had to be crazy". It is about a demonic doll. He was possesed by a man who died, but still wanted to kill after death, so he got into this doll to kill. The only problem is that the doll got into the hands of the wrong person. A little boy. He thinks that this doll is so great, until it tries to kill him and kills some of his family members. I wont tell you any more, but it is a gore filled ride from start to finish. You may even laugh at some times in this film because it tends to be alittle far out. So, if your a horror fan this is a must-see movie. I loved it and so will you. If you want to know some more about this and the Childs Play movies go to the link at the end of my page or read my reviews for the other 3 films. Its worth a rent or buy. Available on VHS.

"Dolly Dearest" This movie is very interesting if you like movies about Evil dolls. It is about this doll who comes to life and kills all these spanish people! It is racist. Also, kids in this film use guns to blow dolls apart! This film is kewl! Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"The Devonsville Terror" A unique and graphic story about witches and warlocks. A woman moves to the small town of Devonsville New Jersey to become a full time teacher. Soon she would find out that it was the worst move of her life. Laying in bed each night, the young teacher dreams of terrible things that used to happen to supposed witches and warlocks in the town. Graphic dreams of people being tied to wheels and let loose down tall hills and then burned at the steak. She awakes, thinking nothing of it until soon wierd things begin to happen to her. She feels like she is watched by everyone, her students, towns folk and boss. I wont give away anymore, but I will say it was extremely entertaining, as was the whole entire movie. It felt eerie the whole time cause I felt like it was my town because I live close to New Jersey. The only problem with this movie is that it is terribly hard to find because it is out of print. So if your local video store had this film like mine did, you are VERY lucky. Worth a rent, IF YOU CAN FIND IT!!! Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"Peter Jacksons: The Frighteners" Cheers to Micheal J. Fox!!! He was the main character in this movie and he was able to see ghosts!!! He plays the part of Frank Banister, a froudulent physcic investigator of the paranormal. He began the buisness when he made friends with a few ghosts. He would send them into houses to frighten the people and then he could investigate the situation and pretend to exstinguish the ghosts from the homes. Everything goes well until the press figure out his ways and so do the people. Frank starts seeing eerie numbers placed one the peoples heads starting with the number "47". Why numbers? Well we then find out that there was a man named Johnny Bartlet who went on a mass murder spree at the local hospital. He died. That doesn't mean he cant kill more people though. What he does is he hunts down people, carvs a number in there heads and squeezes the life out of there hearts. Pretty sick huh? And guess what! Micheal J. Fox is the only one that can see the ghosts. He has to put a stop to the killings and he will stop at nothing to do it. This even means having an out-of-body experience. I would definatly recomend this film to ALL horror fans because along with a frightening plot, it has its share of gore and scary moments. The special effects in this film are also terrific. If you have time and its a full moon, then go see this film no matter what it takes. A new DVD is also out for it, I havn't seen it yet but I bet it has a terrific picture a quality surround sound. The director also created and Directed "Dead Alive" my all-time favorite horror movie. Great film worth a rent or buy. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Evil Dead" "GREAT MOVIE"- The best horror movie ever Alive. It is part of the trilogy and it contains "MUCHO GORE FEST." you have to have a strong heart (and stomach) to watch this movie. It has no humor, just killing. A bunch of zombies come to life and kill the remainders of the souls in the cabin. It is wierd, but great.............and...............banned in Finland. *Special notice: This movie is now one sale at "Coconuts" or your nearest movie dealer, Ditigally Mastered for superb quality! Rated: NC-17. "BANNED": In Finland. Available on VHS and DVD!

"Evil dead 2" As good as the first. This one had some humor. As sick as the first though. The Zombies are back again for another feeding frenzy. Bruce Cambell (The director) is a geniouse. This is a classic horror movie. In this one, the main character "Ash" cuts his hand off at the wrist! Truely awsome, because he puts a chainsaw in place of the hand. When this happens, it makes it easier to decapitate and destroy all the Dedites! Rated: NC-17. "BANNED": In Finland! Available on VHS and DVD.

"Evil dead 3" Army Of Darkness: This is actually a bad movie compared to the other Evil deads. It definatly does not have as much gore. It is also not as much of a classic. It takes place in the medival times, long long ago. It's not in the cabin anymore. The only good thing about this Evil Dead is that it has lots of kewl skeletons and a battle occurs with good against evil. "Army of Darkness" is a feel good monty python type movie. It contains alot of funny elements. WATCH THIS MOVIE AND PLEASE DO NOT TRY ANY OF IT AT HOME! Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

UPDATE From Master Pat: I have recently found the DVD copy of "Army Of Darkness!" It is too kewl for words. You can skip to any scene you want! Plus, it has some interesting extra features. Monty Python and Evil Dead fans alike should purchase this movie on DVD. There is also a rumor that the optional deleted ending is on the disc, but I have not yet found it. E-mail me with any information!

"The Serpent and the Rainbow" Wes Craven delivers another one with this movie. It has to do with a very interesting issue and that is voodoo and the bringing back of the dead. From the moment this movie was released in theaters it was an instant classic. How I found out this movie existed was when I walked into the video store, I asked one of the guys working there for a really good horror film. He went strait to the horror section and picked up this movie. I said "It better be good" and I purchased it and walked out. That night I put it into my VCR and played it. It was in fact creepy because of the whole potion thing that brought back the dead. Basically in this movie a man goes into the jungle in search of some reason that people were mysteriously dying. He found out why, but you have to rent the film to see why. It is definatly worth a rent. Rated R: Available on VHS.

"WAXWORK" This is one of the all time greatest horror movies. A group of teenagers are invited to a WAXWORKS show. The only thing is that the wax has a mind of its own. A forcfield around the wax scenes suck the teenagers into the setting. VERY scary. A bit too graphic for youngsters. I give it 5 out of 5 starz! Available on VHS in and "R" rated and "NC-17" rated version.

"In Dreams" A truly creepy film. This one stars Robert Downy Jr. He plays a Phsycotic killer who stalks a woman and her family. The terror begins in this film on the night of one of her daughters school plays. After the play, he daughter is kidnapped, killed and then a few days later, found beneath a lake in her small town. Under this lake, a small village is also found. The village had been totaly emersed in water a few years back and has stayed that way ever since. The Phsyco doesn't quite after killer the womans daughter. He then torments and gets into her moms head. I'll stop there, lets just say that this film is creepy and very scary when it wants to be. I loved Robert Downy Jr. in this film though. He was totaly on drugs when it was made so he looks wasted through the whole movie. For that very reason, he is a very scary character. The ending is a suprise too, don't we all love suprise endings!!! Well, i know I do. This film is worth a rent. I decided to buy it on VHS and not DVD because I didn't feel like spending 30 bucks. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"IT" This is one of Stephen King's better more interesting movies. It is about a clown that comes up every 40 years and feeds on little children. I give this one a 4 out of 5. This is because the make-up could have been much better, and it is a made for TV movie. The clown is played by the well known Tim Curry. Tim also starred in Home Alone 2: lost in New York, and the movie "Clue". Rated: PG. Available on VHS.

"Night Of The Living dead" I personally loved this movie because it is a REAL classic. It is the first zombie movie ever made in the USA. George Romero is the director and I have to give him tons and tons of credit for making this movie. WE LOVE YOU GEORGE! This movie may be known for the Famouse line "There coming to get you barbara!" It is also known as A really scary movie and I give it a 5 plus, plus, plus! Zombie movies are the greatest! Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Night Of The Living Dead 90'" This is a re-make of the 1968 version and I say it is much better than the black and white one. It has soooo much more special effects and detailed guts and gore. What I always say is that "The Gore Makes A Good Horror Movie!" I say everyone should rent this one. It never gets boring and is always fast paced and disgusting. George Romero once again is a geniouse. I would defiately not watch this movie with the lights out! Rated: NC-17. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Night Of The Living Dead 2" I have to say this movie was a great sequal for a horror movie. NOLD 2 has great special effects. Also whats good about this movie is the dense fog. It makes the setting spooky and scary. The ending is superb and this movie is worth a rent or even two. Available on VHS in "R" rated and "NC-17" rated versions.

"Dawn of the Dead" AWSOME!!! George Romero hits another gold mine in this classic. If you love LOTS of gore and zombie flicks, then BUY this one. Its basically all about zombies. A group of four go into a mall at night that is infested with zombies. They hide out in this room, in a nook of the mall. For months they live there, with zombies all around them. Until the fun begins. They decide one day that they are going to lock all the doors and kill all of the zombies, one by one and lock them up. What they want to do Basicaly is get the mall all to themselves. So they raid the gun shop, shot all the zombies in the heads and lock them up in a room so they wont smell up the place. There lives are going well, until a bunch of out-of-control motorists decide to break into the mall, letting more zombies in. Lets keep it at that and let you find out what happens next if you buy the movie or rent it. Its one of my favorite movies to watch and has finally been released in a theatrical wide-screen formate on DVD. I hear the picture quality is terrific and the sound and eerie music has to be awsome too. I loved it. BUY IT. Probably George Romero's best. Rated: R. Available on VHS, DVD and Laser Disc.

UPDATE from master Pat: I recently purchased the "Dawn of the Dead: Collecters Edition, Directors cut". The directors cut of the DVD, has a 30 minutes more of footage. The total runtime is 142 minutes!!! The DVD is presented in a matted 1.65 aspect ratio. This means that the bars on the top and bottom of the screen were added, either by the director or by the makers of the DVD. Now for my verdict on the new DVD of Dawn. I felt that the DVD had a nice clear picture. Some of the scenes don't work out though. Such as the scene in the boiler room. It just didnt work out. The colors in the picture were saturated with too much black. This made is hard for the peoples faces to come though completly. Also on some parts of the DVD, the picture shifts as if the film that was used was old and run down and the film in coming off the reel. Other than that, the scenes throughout the actual mall were bright and crisp. The next dissapointment with this DVD, came with the Dolby soundtrack. It was probably the worst soundtrack i have ever heard in a movie. It was totaly drained out and it had a limit. If a put my volume up to a certain loudness, the sound became distorted and broken up. I felt that the DVD of Dawn was not a terrific acomplishment. Yet, their is another side to why I am happy in having bought the DVD. First off, the DVD contained four rare trailers from Germany and the US. All trailers run 3 minutes each. The other reason this DVD is awsome is because of the extra footage! OVER 30 MINUTES OF IT!!! the extra 30 minutes is just more gore and zombie slaying. Also, there is an alternative dock scene. Once again though, the bad things about this DVD outnumber the good. I hated the fact that you had to turn this disc over after the end of the first part of the movie. You actually have to get your butt off the couch and flip the stupid disc over!!! Oh well, maybe another version will come out. Until then, I cant solute Anchor Bay for coming out with this DVD version of the film. Sorry!

Unofficial Dawn Info Site: Lots of info on the film and the versions of it on sale!

"Night Of The Demons" You know, some movies live in your hearts forever. This movie is one of them. Its about a group of high school students who decide to throw a party at an old abandond house called "Hull House". Once there, they turn the music one and start to dance, until one of the girls named Angela decides to hold a meeting to call the dead. She does this and Demon spirits are raised and break out of an old mirror. One by one all the kids at this party are possesed by demons. It's not a movie for the weak at heart, but it an unforgettable movie. Once again, you have to buy the original DIRECTORS CUT version to appriciate the movie greatly. The only DIRECTORS CUT version available is on Japanese Laser disk and now VHS. Look out for the scene with the magic marker if you rent or buy this movie. Rated: R and NC-17. Available on VHS and Laser Disc.

"Night of The Demons 2" An OK movie. It has good special effects and a cheezy plot. I give it a 3 out of 5 because of the lame plot. It takes place at a co-ed Catholic college and involves about 6 main characters. When Halloween comes, the College throws a part and the nuns don't even let anyone slow dance!!! So what happens is, these 6 kids ditch the party and go to Hull house to have there own little shin-dig. The only problem is, one of the demons gets out of the house and posseses a girl who goes back to the party. She lures boys into the bathroom for sex and then kills them. I liked the fact that in this one the Demon sang a demonic song. I also like the voice of the demon in this movie and the ending is "TO DIE FOR!" Lets just say it has something to do with a snake. Rent it. Not worth a buy unless you are a horror movie GURU like me. Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"Night of The Demons 3" A good movie. This movie has better special effects than all the others. It takes place in Hull house once again, and a bunch of no-minded kids decide to have a party there. What a bad mistake, because they are killed and possesed by Demons. This film tended to look alot like the first. It was probably the one I liked the least. Of course the first was the scariest. The marker scene in the first is unforgettable as I stated in my review before this one. I wouldnt recomend waching this movie with the lights OUT! It is also not a good movie for little children under the age of 14 or 15. I think that this could have horror movie potential if it ads more gore and suspense and a bit of humor. Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"Scream" A great horror movie of the 90's. Scream has set a new standard of horror and has undoubtably become a classic. If you haven't seen it, it is about a man dressed in a ghost suit who goes around killing people....or is it two men? you'll have to see the movie! Scream is cleverely swave and sophisticated. Billy loomis probably makes the movie, he is strangely creepy. Also, stu, he brings a little bit of comedy to the movie and helps it out. Rent or buy this movie. I own it on DVD, the new copy had just come out. It has alot of tracks and a theatrical trailer. PLUS, a comentary by Wes craven. If you have a DVD, it is worth a buy. I think of this movie as a great movie, but after repeated viewings gets boring, unlike "Dead Alive". O well, Wes Just doesn't have as much power as Peter Jackson does. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Scream 2: Scream again- This was by far better than the first. I can watch this one one hundred times and not get board of it at all! I wont tell you who the killers were in this one, but heres a hint "The killer is a woman". Look for the scene where the kid gets up on the table and starts singing to his girl. SO ROMANTIC! Wes deserves two thumbs up for this one! There was also more gore and violence in this one. Rent it, buy it, watch it. Rated: R. NOW ON DVD and VHS.

"DISTURBING BEHAVIOR" Why do we have to be perfect? This is the question that this movie poses. A local town school wants to take all of the children in the school and implant something in there heads to make them 100 percent perfect. They act like mature 40 y/o adults, yet they are neglegent 16 and 17 year olds. To cut the story short, these kids eventually go haywire and start to become evil beings and they try to overpower and murder all of the non-perfect teens. The ending is interesting, yet, i cant call it a real horror movie, it just didn't cut it. None of it was scary and I shouldn't have rented it. I don't think anyone should rent it if they are looking for a really good horror movie. If you decide to rent it, get it on DVD because the DVD has about 10 deleted scenes and it may be cool. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

Lucio Fulci's "ZOMBIE"- This movie is actually a sequal to another zombie movie by the Italian horror film director Lucio Fulci. This film is set on the an island. This island looks normal to everyone elses eyes, but, Zombies lurk in the dark corners behind the trees and they come out at night to feed on human flesh. This film is not for the squirmish, expecialy a scene where a piece of wood splinter goes right into a womans eye. This movie sets standards for all Zombie flicks and should get and honorable mention. It is a fun and suspenseful film that has an eerie touch. The first time I saw this film was July 3, 1998 and I thought it was a fun movie. Rent it, but there is really no need to buy it unless you really love Zombie flicks. Rated: NC17. Available on VHS and now on DVD.

Don't go in the house!" This movie, I found to be quite disturbing. After killing his mother (by burning her I might add) a man starts luring victims into his house! Each victim he kills in a different a unique way! Did I mention that he kills these people because of abuse in the past? Well, thats why he kills them. Every bit of this movie is eerie and I was truely haunted and disturbed by this character of a sick physcotic man. Then, neer the end of the movie, he sticks all the burnt, decapitated and mangled bodies in one of the guest rooms. I would say this movie frightened me because of the reality of it. None of the scenes looked fake! so, I would say that you should not buy this movie because of legal and moral issues, but, you should definatly go to your local video store and give it a rent. Rated: NC-17. Available on VHS.

"The mardi Gras' massacre" There is really no way to explain this movie. A man, goes to bars during the mardi gras and picks up hookers. The only thing wrong is that he is into grotesque things like say.....cutting someone open with a knife and sacrificing the bodily organs to the gods. This man is part of a cult that is into wierd rituals. I wouldn't advise that this movie whould be watched, it tended to be a bit boring and fake. Yet, the director had no problem with the nudity factor. Worth a rent. Rated: NC-17. Available on VHS.

"Harvest of the blood farmers" This movie was undoubtably the worst piece of crap I have ever seen. The gore was fake, the film was REALLY boring, and the movie was just bad. Rated: NG- for "NOT GOOD!" Not worth a rent or buy. Available on VHS.

"The video Dead" I loved this movie. It is about a group of three kids. One day a strange looking T.V. set arrives at their home, but wait a second? They didn't order a T.V. set! The fed ex dude has the kid sign for the T.V. and leaves in a big hurry. This is when the trouble begins. One of the kids decide to turn on the set one day. He flicks on the T.V. and there is a good ol' horror movie. The title of the movie "Zombie Bloody nightmare". The kid thinks "O well, this looks like a good movie", but, this is the only movie the set gets, on every channel! The kid falls asleep with the T.V. on and when he wakes up, the T.V. is smashed on the floor and a strange mist is coming out of it. Guess what the mist is? The zombies have escaped, out of the set and into the childrens home. What will they do to stop these vile zombies? Rent or buy it to find out. I thought this movie was interesting, entertaining and scary (Even in the daytime!). Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"Deadtime Stories" This movie definatly one of my favorites. It is about a young boy and his uncle. The young boy keeps telling his father to tell him a bed time story. "Tell me a bedtime story? says the boy. His uncle sits down in his big chair next to the bed. And tells him three stories. The first story, having to do with witches resurecting the dead body of there sister. The second story has to do with a girl resembling little red riding hood. The third, none other than Goldylocks. I wont even go into that one. Contains interesting special effects and gorey scenes. Some nudity involved, keep away from young children. Have fun. Rated: NC-17. Available on VHS.

"One Dark Night" This film is unrated, and suitable for all ages. It is one of those movies that arent that gorey, but really scary. It is about three girls that tell a geek that if she wants to be in the "Sisters club" she would have to stay in the morgue overnight. I wont tell you the rest, but you will just have to rent or buy it. Guess what, Adam West is in this movie (The original Batman)! Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU" This movie was very cool and we also get to see the return performance of the original godfather (Marlon Brando). He plays a terrific part in this sci-fi thriller. It is about a scientist who arrives on an island VIA a wooden plank. Since there is no way off, he finds out that the "MAD" scientist (Marlon Brando) is gene splicing genes of animals with humans and the island is filled with these disgusting creatures. Eventually they turn on the "MAD" scientist and every known human on the island ending in a finale of epic perportions. Its a very original movie with twists and turns to make your mind blow. Worth a rent. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Wild Things" All I have to say is that this movie had the most twists of any film ever made. It stars Nieve Campbell, Denise Richards and Kevin Bacon. Its too complicated to explain so I wont go into it, but it starts out when Denise Richards acuses her teacher of sexually abusing her. Yet, he never even touched her. I think that the director of this is very talented and he deserves an oscar. This film has been released on DVD too and the DVD has deleted scenes!!!!! I'm thinking about renting that too. Worth a rent or buy. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Class Reunion Massacre" Hmmmm. This movie left me wondering. What kind of stupid, idiotic, demented, #$%$ed up individual could put this movie on the shelves or even waste the tape used to make this movie. It was about some wierd topic that baffled me. I don't get it. Don't even think about this movie. If you see it on the shelves then don't buy it, tell the store owner to burn it. Rated: NC-17. Available on VHS.

"The Texas Chainsaw massacre" One of my top recomendations. This movie is and will aways remain a classic for all times. It is about a crazy guy with a mask named "Leather face" that lures people into his farm house and brutally slaughters them. It is not rated and is very scary. Watch it with the lights on! Please! Rated: R. Available on VHS, DVD, and laserdisc.

"I know what you did last Summer" Now this is definately a true horror movie. It has all the elements. Suspense, Gore, on the edge of your seat terror and humor. It is basically about 4 teenagers that kill a man in a slicker on the side of the road. They dump him in the ocean and make a pact that noone will breath a word about the incident for the rest of there lives. One year passes. A note comes to one of the teenagers doors. The note reads "I still know!" The rest of the movie is on the edge of your seat entertainment that you do not want to miss. The movie stars: Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Rent it of buy it if you dare. Rated: R. Available on VHS, DVD and laser Disc.

IKWYDLS Page: A Terrific "I know what you did last summer" page!

"I STILL know what you did last summer!" This is the sequel to the first. I think (To tell you upfront) that this was much better than the first. Jennifer Love Hewitt makes the movie, she is such a great actress. Anyway, in the sequel, Jennifer and her friend played by "Brandy", get a phone call from their favorite radio station 96.7. If they name the capital of Brazil than they win an all expense paid trip to an island in the Bahamas. What happens? You guessed it, the girls win. Wait a second though? Rio isn't the capital of Brazil! Something is terribly wrong here. You have to rent the movie to see what happens. I would recomend that if you have a DVD player than you should rent this film or buy it on DVD. It is very clever and tricky to figure out. If you enjoy horror movies, you will definately enjoy this flick. Rated: R. Available on VHS, DVD and Laser Disc.

"The Mummy-1999" This film had terrrific special effects and a hauntingly eerie feel. I went to see this film with my father and we arrived at the theater at about 7:15. The show was at 7:45, but still there wasn't a line at all! We got great seats and eventually the theatre was packed. Teenagers and adults alike watched in terror. An also great element to this film was the use of comedy. Here and there something was extremly funny. Brendon Fraiser did a terrific job in the movie also, I couldn't have picked a better actor to be the fearless explorer. Now available on DVD and VHS. Rated: PG-13.

"Copy Cat" I just bought this one on DVD. I feel that the only way to describe this film is to tell you that it is very suspensful. It is about a Copy Cat killer who is after a woman. After he is jailed, the killer hires another man to do the job. The picture quality on the disc is superb and so is the sound. I felt that this movie also had many twists and turns just like Halloween. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Don't Go in the Woods!" I recently viewed this movie last weekend. I felt that it lacked the acting aspect. This was a classic B-movie about a group of campers that go into the woods and get hacked appart by a man dressed in leaves and covered in mud. The man carries a machetti and slices them all up. I wouldn't recomend a view for this one, just because it gets too boring. Also, when watching this movie, everyone was running too much. There were terrible shots of people just running and running and running from who knows what. Not worth a rent. Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"The Gate" Me and my best friend Ned both agree, that this is by far the scariest movie since Evil dead. Its about a group of kids. There parents go away for a week on vacation, leaving them the house. Upon there parents exit, wierd things start to happen in the house. Lights go on and off, the house shakes. No problem, but, the real entertainment begins when creatures start to emerge from underneath the house in the basement. Dead bodies apear in the closet. These little creatures from below, kill some of the kids and leave the others with the task of driving them back into the ground. The only way this is possible, is with the good ol' bible. I wont give away any more. All I have to say is that it gets pretty damn scary from there. Its worth a rent. I'm thinking about renting it again. Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"When the Screaming stops" This movie was originaly Italian and english was dubbed in to have the movie make sense. It was about this demon that comes out of the sea and manifests it self to look like a beautiful young lady. By doing this, she tricks everyone into thinking she is normal. The target for this demon is a girls school. The monster rips all the girls hearts out, while killing some villigers along the way. One thing I liked about this movie was that it had red flashes on the screen before the really sick parts are shown. I think this movie is worth a decent rent. Rated: R. Available on VHS.

"Killer Clowns From Outer Space" Truely one of the wierder movies that I have seen. It is all about these clowns that come from the outer rings of the planets and stalk and kill there victems. Although many may think of this as a comedy it was a VERY scary movie. And if you hate clowns, don't watch this film in the dark. I was frieked out at one part when a clown came out of a hamper and attaked the girl. At the end, it all comes down to a brawl in a Big Top circus tent. Rated R: Available on VHS and Laser disc.

"Wishmaster" A Wes Craven film that has it all. The movie is about a girl played by Denis Richards who finds a rare red gem that upon inspecting releases a demonic genie that grants her three wishes. Yet, all the wishes somehow turn out bad. The girl is haunted by him, until she comes out with the idea of wishing his to blow his brains out. So he does and you actually see the brains come out!!! It ends in a gore filled experience that only Wes Craven could deliver. I knew when I saw this film on Pay-per-view that it would be interesting and it was. I think its also one of Wes Cravens best films since the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series. I also hear rumors that there is a "Wishmaster 2" out their somewhere. If anyone has any information on it then e-mail your info to me. For the record, Wishmaster is worth a rent. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Carnival of Souls-1999" I viewed this movie last night and it was eerie and VERY creepy. It is about a girl, whos father molests her very young. Her father happens to be a circus clown that her mother met at a circus one day. The plot gets wierder as she starts seeing her dead father and evil deamons. It all ends when she goes back to the circus where her mother met her demonic father. When she enters the fun house at the end of the movie, she confronts more terror than can be imagined. This film is definatly worth a rent. I felt that it scared me, mostly because I hate clowns and also because carnivals freak me out totally. If this is true for you, then this is the first horror movie you should rent before any other. Cotton candy anyone?? Rated: R. Available on VHS and now on DVD.

American History x
" This film moved me, shocked me and definatly sent chills down my spine. It is about a group of modern age nazi skin heads. They murder and kill everyone that is colored, Jewish and others. Basically, they are like a group of Hitlers. I felt that this was very wrong and it frusterated me to see them kill and beat these other races. Yet, in the end, one of the younger members in the group, writes a sotry called "American History X". At the end, he comes to realize that other races are just like us and the ending is moving and terrifing. I rented a DVD of this picture and I would recommend that if you have a DVD player like me than you should rent it on DVD. The picture is VERY clear and the audio track on this film is terrific. The DVD is in WIDESCREEN letter-boxed format. I think this film is worth a rent or two. Rated: R. Available on DVD, Laserdisc and VHS.

TOD BROWNING'S: "FREAKS" A carnival barker takes a group of people to look at a sideshow freak, called the FEATHERED HEN. A woman screams. He tells the story of the freak.Cleopatra was a trapeze artist with the carnival. She knew that Hans,a midget, had a mad crush on her,and flirted with him so he would give her money. Frieda, Hans' fiance[also a midget], warned Hans that Cleopatra was just taking advantage of him. It turns out that Hans falls in love with this beautiful woman and wants to make her part of the family. Frightening! He dances round the room, proclaiming his marriage to the young girl. YET, she did not agree to marry him! It turns out to be a horrific ending and the freaks fight back and get the woman back for treating them so bad. This is one of the scariest movies that I have seen. I watched it one night with my friend Mike and his mom. We were all afraid and couldn't get to sleep. I give this film a high rating. Also, none of these Freaks were fake. All of them were genuine freaks and you know what? Never has a film been made after this with realy freaks. I wonder why? Worth a rent or two or three! Rated: NR. Available on VHS.

Tod and his freaks: A picture of the cast
One of the actors.: A no armed, no legged freak
The Marriage toast: The midgit pours wine.

"The Faculty" The film starts off with a football coach screaming at his players. What he doesn't know is that he is about to be posessed by an alien life form. Soon, he spreads the alien to all of the facutly members and then........the students. Only four students are left to take on the aliens. Yet, they have to be careful, for some of there friends may not be all they appear to be. They now set off on the mission, to kill the queen alien. Once they do that, all of the students and faculty in the town, will return back to normal. I found this film to be VERY entertaining. It had suspense, with that extra spurt of gore. Alos, Jon Stewart, host of the daily show, was in this movie. I rented it on DVD and it was presented in a 1.35 aspect ratio (meaning letterboxed) or for more primitive humans (Two black bars on the top and bottom of the TV screen). The picture on the disc was superb and I would even say to you people out there to buy this one, because its good for repeated viewings. If you rent it, rent it more than once. Rated: R. Available on DVD, VHS and laserdisc.

"Storm of the Century" This was a 2-day, 4 hour mini-series created, written and directed by Stephen King. I was surverying the shelves of "Academy Video" last week when I came upon a film that caught my attention. It was "Storm of the Century". This DVD's cover looked eerie yet interesting. So, I picked it up, carried it to the desk and rented it out. The next day I watched for almost 4 and 1/2 hours. It was worth every second. It was nail-bitting entertainment. This movie didn't even have to have alot of gore in it to make it scary. It just naturally was horrifying. It had a strong ending. It was about a ghostly stranger who appeared one night at an old womans door step. After he murders her, he is locked up. Bars don't stop him though, he gets into the peoples minds from within the cell and makes them kill themselves. The people with in this small island community off the coast of Maine, soon find out that he wont leave, until he gets what he wants. What he wants, isn't logical or ethical. GREAT movie worth a rent or even a buy. Rated: PG-13. Available on VHS and DVD.

"CUBE"- An in depth look at the DVD: The film begins in a Cubed box. Inside this box, lay 3 adults and one teenage girl. The question is posed for each of the people in this cube-shaped room. How do we all get out? Every door leads to a cube-shaped room. Yet, its not that simple. Some of the rooms have traps within them. If you come across one of those traps...then your dead. In the begining of this movie, before the plot starts, you see a man, get ripped to shreds by tiny wires that cant be seen by the human eye. Soon, another adult gets killed by a trap. Acid burns his face off, and a gap lay where it used to be. This movie is not for the faint at heart. How, will these people get out of the cube? Why were they put in the cube? Rent the movie to find out. I found this movie very interesting. It had all elements of horror and of Science Fiction. This movie is DEFINATLEY one of my top ten movies ever. I feel that the whole world should see this film, even buy it. I am fortunate as to have a DVD player. So, I rented this movie on DVD, today being July 8th. I popped it in my player and watched it in its letterbox version. The only thing that I could say is if you have a DVD player...RENT THIS MOVIE!! It also contains Deleted scenes, Storyboards, Art and a theatrical trailer!!! Don't pass this one up. The picture was very good on this disc too. The STEREO SOUND was very awsome too. RENT THIS ON DVD OR VHS OR YOU'LL BE MISSING OUT!!! Rated: R. Available on VHS, DVD and Laserdisc.

"Summer Of Sam" It starts off with a news reporter. He talks about how there are many many many stories about happenings in NY. He tells the audience that the one he is going to talk to you about tonight, is David Berkowitz, the Son of Sam killer. You stare at the screen and watch as the plot unfolds and a couple making out in a car are killed. In this film directed by Spike Lee, none of the gore in spared. Every bloody aspect is shown. So you see the Son of Sam killer shoot this innocent couple. Blood splatters on the window, and entrails hang from holes in there bodies. Within this plot of a killer and his victems, another plot unfolds. This is the relationship of two people played by John Legazamo and Mira Sorvino. John Legazamo plays a man who constantly cheats on his girlfriend (Mira Sorvino) with other women. As the film presses on, we see clips of David Berkowitz talking and yelling to himself at voices that he hears from a barking dog outside his window. He claims that the dog tels him to kill the people he kills. Yet, the audience knows better, hes a pshycotic man with no one that cares for him. During the middle of the movie, we see John Legazamo and his friends begin to make a list of all possible suspects. Niether he or his friends know that they are making a terrible mistake...but you will have to see the movie to know what it is. I felt that this movie was creative, engenious and clever. It doesn't focus to much on the killer and it tends to go off on relationships between friends etc. If you want to learn alot about the killer himself and your prepared for a movie that will scare you to death, then this isn't the movie for you. I also think that the cinemotography in this film is terrific. Spike Doesn't have a problem starring in the film too, he plays a reporter for channel 7 news. If you like Drama, horror or even spicy romance, then check out this movie in theaters now. As for me, I am a happy man now that i have seen it. I was impressed. A must see for all!!!! Rated: R. In theaters everywhere

"Curse of the Blair Witch"-TV: A good Special is all I have to say. Its just sad that you want to see the real movie even more after seeing this. The fact is that the movie wont even come out until the end of July!!! Yet, this true documentary on the sci-fi channel. The documentary was all about the history in this town in Maryland thats words are haunted by the Blair Witch. It also tells about a man that claims the witch made him kill seven children over a period of time "THE VOICES TOLD ME TO DO IT!!!" He says. Can we believe this whole story though? Was the guy really hearing voices of a witch?? Did these three kids really dissapear into the woods shooting "The Blair Witch Project"??? I know the truth :), you will geth the answer when I see and review the movie. Until then, I have nothing else to say, but, when the special airs again over the course of this month you should see it. Rated: NR. Available only on the sci-fi channel. For air times, click on the colored link below to go to the official site.

Scifi channel web site: To look for the Blair Witch T.V. listings.

"THE HAUNTING"-1999 Sadly, it was kind of a dissapointment. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would have been, but still had terrific special effects, like the "Mummy". I feel as if the special effects drained out the horror aspect of this film. If was too fake for anyone to believe what was going on. If it were to be a good splatter film, then I think audiences would have been much more apt to being scared. Me and a friend went to see this movie and she thought it was "OK" but not scary enough. So my friends, don't make this movie into an extravegant event because its a see in the theater or rent on video kind of movie. DO NOT!! Make this film a summer priority. The whole premise of this film is how a hand full of people get dragged into the house for an experiement, in Fear. Some get badly injured, while others get decapitated. The two people that you think wont live by the end of the movie, live. Have fun watching this one on a rainy day. Rated: PG-13. AVAILABLE SOON ON DVD.

"The Blair Witch Project" Nothing can prepare you for this movie, I assure you of that. Everything you think about this film, is not true. It is 10 times scarier than you think. When the film starts out and throught the whole film, the picture doesn't take up the whole screen. It just takes up the center of it. This is because it is filmed with a hand held camara, not a letterbox camara. Then the movie starts out when everyone is picked up by Heather Donahue and Josh. Three students go into the dark lonesome woods, but never ever come out. They all get taken over by the witch. Although the witch is never seen, its presence is all around them in sounds and objects made by her. I bet you would love to know from me how the whole movie ends. Lets just say, it sends a chill down your spine from top to bottom. I found this film also funny, cause all the kids said some funny things and made some funny jokes. If you are not planning to sleep the same night you see the film, then you can see it. I assure you, after you see it, you will get no sleep. Plus, this is not a childrens movie, don't take them to see it. This movie/documentary is Rated: R for graphic language. NOW AVAILABLE ON VHS and DVD.

"Blood Sucking Freaks" A film that will forever change the face of TERROR. It starts out as a midget comes walking up and tells his master that the new shipment has come in. From then on all hell breaks loose, for the shipment is a new box of slaves for his deranged show of the macob. On stage, each of the slaves at killed. Either they are decapitated or tortured to death. Each of these slaves die in real life, but to the audience, they think its all one big magic trick. Until one day, one some of the audience members end up on stage. I though this movie was clever and terrifing in its own demented way. It was disturbing and made me have nightmares for 2 nights straight. I wouldn't recommend anyone under the age of 18 to view this film because of all aspects. I also don't think any one who views this film should take it very seriously. Its basically a gore fest. I didn't watch the 91 minute directors cut, but i'm sure that those added 3 minutes of gore were sickening. I felt ill during this movie, but for true horror fans, this film is a must and worth a rent or two. Rated: NC-17. Available on VHS and now in a special Directors Cut Version on DVD.

"The Sixth Sense" All I have to say is "Awsome!" Maybe one reason that I say this is that I love Bruce Willis Films. He was awsome in all of the "Die Hard" movies and now comes this brillient movie. In this one, he plays a shrink who works with children that have psycological problems. In begining of the movie, you see him confronted with a man who has come back from a past child evaluation, and, shot. I feel like this movie was an acheivment on Bruce's part because his acting is getting better with each movie he makes. I also thought that the child in this movie acted terrifically. He was really convincing. Like when he said "I see dead people" he really looked like he ment it and he acted his part out very well. In terms of being scary, this movie did the trick. It was an instant classic in terms of original horror and I feel that Bruce Willis does a great job in the horror film industry. I do advise everyone to see this movie because it also has a terrific moral at the end of it. Believe it or not, some of this film could even pass for a love story. I give it high recomendetion and everyone should get up and go to the theaters to see it. Rated: PG-13. Now Playing in Theaters everywhere.

"8MM" Chillingly real and it was probably the scariest film I have ever seen. The movie begins as you see a private investigator played by the very talented Nicholas Cage walking into a very large estate. He is confronted by an old lady whom shows him a ver disturbing piece of 8 mm film. She said to him that she found the film in her dead husbands vault. The movie was in fact a very controversial, Home-made Snuff film. This worried the old woman. Was her husband killing this innocent little girl in the film she had just seen? Intrigued by the case that has been bestowed upon him by the old woman. Cage sets out into the world of pornography to get to the bottom of the Snuff film history. He goes into the film underground in the ally's of major cities around the world viewing every type of adult film out there. I wont tell you anymore, but lets just say its an extriemly terrifying journey. In watching this film with my family and my best friend. I felt as if I wasn't in my living room anymore, but in fact immersed in this other world with Nicholas Cage. I felt as if I was in these cities looking at this violence. I recomend all adults looking for a quality scary movie to RUN, not walk but RUN to your local video store and rent this. I rented it on DVD and the picture and sound quality was superb. That also added to the reality of being there. If you have a DVD player go out of your way to rent it or buy it on DVD. By the Far the scariest, most nerve racking movie ever. Rated: R. Available on VHS and DVD.

"Strangeland Letterboxed DVD" The picture begins. You see two girls, sitting at a computer screen. Genevieve is 15 and the other girl is 16. They both enter a "TEENS ONLY" chat room. They start to chat with a person having the screen name of "Captain Howdy". He convices the two girls to come to his house for a little party. They stupidly agree and go to his house. Only to find out that they are to be tied up and pierced. The next day one of the girls is found dead in the lake. Genevieve is still alive but tied up and put in a cage. In a mad rage, Genevieves father goes on the net with the help of his neice and hunts down the brutal killer. They find him once and lock him up. Soon enough, the killer is released and set back out into the real world. After 2 weeks, he is killing again. I'll leave the rest for you to see. I thought this movie was creepy and VERY disgusting, at some parts I couldn't even watch this sicko pierce the poor victims. I was suprised to see Robert Englund (Freddie Crougar) in this movie as one of the angry townspeople. I found this to be a very original horror flick and the picture was terrifically clear and crisp. The sound could have been better because they didn't make it digital. I advise people that hate gorey flicks to not stay around for the ending of this movie, because it is just rediculously sickening. I give this movie alot of credit for originality, but I have to say its not worth a buy. A rent or two would be a good idea for horror movie fans. If you have a DVD, rent it on DVD. It is worth it if you do. Rated: NC-17. Available on DVD (In a letterboxed Format) and VHS.

"Stir of Echoes" Stir of Echoes belongs to one of the oldest genres of horror films: the ghost story. I have to say that "Stir of Echoes" doesn't spare the chills. Around every corner of this film is another suprise and frightening scene. The film begins as we see a small child, not even six, just looking at the camera, and talking to an invisible friend that only he can see. His father is of course baffled by what he is seeing, until one dark night. He is at a party with his friends and allows himself to be hypnotized by his wives new-age sister, Lisa (Illeana Douglas). While she's in his mind, she leaves a suggestion for him to "open up." This results in Tom beginning to experience paranormal experiences. Soon enough, Tom (Kevin Bacon) begins to see apparitions of a teenaged girl sitting on his couch and walking about his home. It is now his job to find out the truth behind how the girl died and why she is in his home. He becomes obsessed with initiating a second contact with the ghost, losing his job and neglecting his friends and family in the process. The truth of the matter folks is this film is scary... but more in that honest to goodness... this is scary sort of way... And not so much in that.... BOO! Hahahaha... gotcha sort of way. I feel that Kevin Bacon played the terrific role of a psychotic individual. His role in "Stir of Echoes" reminded me the most of the role that Jack Nicholson Played in "The Shining". The way his eyes gleam in that fiendishly horrifying way and the eerie way that he smiles. This differs from the other roles that Kevin Bacon played before because he actually has to be "evil" in this movie, and he does a great and convincing job, at it. Some of you out there, will see similarities to M. Night Shyamalan's "The Sixth Sense", but if its a heart throbbing scare that your looking for, "Stir of Echoes" is the film to see. I have to admit a scream or two may have even came out of my mouth during this movie. For all of you looking for a terrific movie to go watch on a weekend, check this one out, I think that you won’t be disappointed. True horror fans will appreciate this movie greatly, also. The first movie that has scared me in awhile. Playing now in Theaters Everywhere.

"Stigmata" The plot is strange, yet eerie in its own way. A hair dresser from New York is given a gift from a far away land, by her mother. The gift is brown rosary beads. Picking the beads up and examining them, she begins to feel a strange sensation in her stomach, it passes, but not for long. Days later, she dreams of nails being pounded into her arms and hands. It is the "Stigmata". (If you wish to learn about what the "Stigmata" really is, I urge you to go and see this film.) The audience finds out that the girl played by Patricia Arquete, is really possesed. I can't give away anymore of the film, but I have to say it gets very confusing. I looked at this movie as more of a puzzle or suspense type of film, more than a horror film. None of it really scared me, and I felt that it was just a joke. The movie was closely related to "The Exorcist", yet wasn't as good. I was just about ready to scream out "May the power of christ compel you" at the end of the film. Hell, I even did yell that out. My friend quickly shut me up, but I yelled it out. Folks, if you want a mystery film, then go see this one. It's the less interesting of the three horror films released recently. In my eyes, "Stigmata" was a flop. I think it was that trailer that tricked all of the audience to go and see it. The trailer was actually better then the movie! I guess when the trailer comes out on video, i'll just have to buy it. I wouldn't recomend you see this one until a rainy day, maybe even not then. Now playing in theaters everywhere.......but not for long!!

"Idle hands" This is an absolutly scary and hysterical horror movie. Literally about a boy and his right hand. It all begins on a cold October night. The character of Anton lies sleeping in his bed in the attic, while his parents are downstairs ready to go to bed, when they look up at there ceiling. In strange blue writing is the sentence "I'm under the bed". Eventually the parents both die, and Anton wakes up to an empty house. Blood coats the floor, yet he doesn't notice. Eventually, as the story progresses, Anton finds his parents, dead. His friends come over to his house, only to find that Antons hand has become posessed, and that it was actually the hand that killed his parents. I wont give away much more, but Anotons hand kills his friends in grusome ways. "Idle Hands" reminded me alot of the movie "Dead Alive". It was gorey and scary in a darkly funny sort of way. A character in this movie that I think is overlooked, is the dog. In the begining of the movie he is just crack up to death funny. Exspecialy when he hides under the covers with Anton. I also found this film to be Extremely entertaining. Not only in the horror aspect, but the comedy aspect too. Anton (Devon Sawa) plays a great part in this film of potreying a pot smoking, couch potato that hasn't been to school since kindergarden. The only this that bothered me about this movie was the relationship between Anton and this girl that he has a crush on. First we see them just talking and Anton acting like a total jerk, and then we see the girl and Anton in bed together!!! How wierd is this. I'll tell you folks, Hollywood has taken over. This isn't the real world. In the real world, it takes a month just to hug a girl. Other then that, I loved this movie. I advise horror fans to go see this movie and comedy fans. Available on DVD and VHS.

"The Matrix-Widescreen DVD" The most special effects that I have ever seen in any movie, throughout my whole entire life!!! The setting of this film is in the year 2090. A group of people, build a computer generated world, called "The Matrix". This world can be altered in any way. Basically, we can say that its a computer game. Yet, in every movie there is a conflict. In this movie, a bug gets into the system and tries to destroy and take it over. They do this by capturing the creator of "The Matrix". His name is Morpheus. Pretty soon it is up to the other members in the group to save his life by eliminating all of the bugs in the system. Will they do it? Although I am dying to tell you...I just can't. Lets just say that Its an action packed final ending. Once again, I must stress that renting or buying the DVD of this movie will enhance your enjoyment of it. With 5.1 surround sound, every click of the gun, and wiz of the bullets can be heard. Since I own the DVD, I can tell you right now, that every time I watch the ending, my whole room rumbles. I cannot guarentee this effect for all of you that have DVD players. I cant because it all depends on the amount of speakers you have. I myself have four speakers. The picture though, no matter what kind of set-up you have, is as clear as crystal. I can definatly say that it is the clearest picture I have seen on a DVD (With the exception of Saving Private Ryan). Folks, let me tell you something. Matrix is the kind of DVD that if you buy it, it wont get boring each time you watch it. You can watch this one at least 100 times before you would even get close to sick of it. So, go out and buy it, don't rent it. It's only $19.00 in your local video retail store, such as "Sam Goody". I recommend this movie to everyone that loves sci-fi and horror. Available on VHS and DVD. Rated: R.

"The Rage: Carrie 2-Widescreen Version" For those of you who have seen the movie "Carrie", this is the sequel. In "The Rage", we are introduced to another one of the children with "Telecenisis" (If thats how you spell it). She is basically an outcast in school and not a very social person, but when the most popular guy in school starts to show a liking to her, she is immediatly flushed with nervousness. Everything is fine within their relationship when he finally gets up the nerve to ask her out, until his friends start to bust on her for being such a jerk. He anger comes out in the form of energy released, and items begin to fly around the room. Its not a very violent movie, with the exception of the first scene, when a young teenaged girl, jumps off the roof of the school building. I felt that this movie was cleaverly directed. The director knew just how to scare the audience without going too far, and adding too much blood and gore, which would ruin the plot. The Letterboxed DVD that I watched had an incredible picture. Very clear and crisp in color details. Some scenes in the movie were black and white, I thought that the black and white was handled brilliently. I can't say the same about the sound in this movie though. The sound needed some help. It was in a 5.1 digital format, but it still sounded like a regular stereo movie. It seemed that the sound effects washed out the voice parts in this movie. Other than that, the special features on this DVD were awsome. Deleted scenes, an optional ending, and a commentary by the director. If your looking for a diffrent type of horror flick, this is the movie for you. If you don't rent it on DVD, try getting it on VHS. Available on VHS and DVD. Rated: R.

"End of days" An explosion of brillent special effects with occasional comedy. "End of Days" should not be missed and overlooked as another one of those sappy Armageddon movies. In this film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the man who will in fact try to save the world from the evil forces of satan. The character of satan is played by Gabriel Byrne. Gabriel does a terrific job in portraying the devil. I found many aspects of his acting the same as in the movie "The Devils Advocate". Anywayz, back to the movie... Arnold comes in contact with a girl whom is supposed to be "THE CHOSEN ONE". She had been born under the special sign. The character of Christine York (The girl) is haunted by the fact that all of the sudden she has being hunted down and almost killed. The character of Christine explains in one vivid scene, that she has in fact, had dreams of making love to satan. These dreams, she explains, have been coming to her every night since she was a teenager. This review may seem hard to understand, but that is because it is a complicated film that shows the world ending, not by a comet of meteor, but ending in a fierce battle with satan. Now that we have gotten the plot of this film out of the way, lets move on to the film itself. I was lucky enough to see this movie at night on a HUGE screen with the new DTS sound format. Let me tell you, that made all the diffrence. The sound was so clear and crisp that i felt like i was really their. At the end of the movie, my seat even shook from the sound. At the begging of the movie, paper was burning during the opening credits, and it sounded like the fire was actually in the theater. Now on to the special effects portion. The special effect were amazing in the fact that they were diffrent. They had animated fire and even an anamated version of satan with the wings and all. This deffinatly freaked me out because i was sitting 2 rows away from the screen. To sum up. "End of Days" isnt just a movie. Its more of a ride. I wouldnt look deep into this movie for some type of meaning or even that good of a plot. Plot wise, this movie lacked unbelievably, but the special effects balanced the movie out and gave it a good deal of depth and was more than entertaining. I actually begged for more footage at the end of the film. I perdict that when this movie comes out on DVD, it will be one of the best DVD's ever made. Let me tell you, this movie better have DTS on the DVD and not that crappy dolby digital sound. If anyone ever takes a poll, vote DTS against dolby digital sound. Now that you have finished reading my review, go out and see "End of Days". Rated: R. Now playing in theaters everywhere.

"The Devils Advocate- Widescreen DVD" "Freedom baby, is never having to say your sorry!" Al Pacino delivers this classic line in the "Devils Advocate." He plays the character of the devil. I have to say out of all the roles that Pacino has been in, this one puts the icing on the cake. His descriptions and emotions in the "Devils Advocate" are so vivid, that they stay in your mind long after the movie has ended. The other character in this film is Keanu Reeves. He plays the character of a young buisness lawyer whom decides to "Deal with the Devil". So why don't we start at the beggining. The movie beggins in a courtroom, as we see this young lawyer in the middle of a child molestation case. He is for the defendant and he is trying his best to prove his innocents. As the lawyer goes to recess, he goes into the bathroom, putting his ring down on the sink. He washes his face, returns to the courtroom, and wins the case flawlessly. Yet, in the back of his mind, he really didn't want this guy to get off, he knew he was guilty. That night, while partying, he is confronted by a small negro man whom gives him a buisness proposition to work in New York City on bigger and more high paying cases. At first he is skeptical, but he finally decides to go. He would soon find out that this will be the worst mistake of his life. From this point of the film until the end, the lawyer must choose between his job, or the life of his wife and himself. I rate this film extremely high in terms of how frightening it is. I was even freaked out at some of the parts in this movie. Like when innocent people, suddenly turned out to be deamons. I love this film. I also loved the dvd. For an older movie, this dvd had great picture and excellent sound. The special features were amazing too including: Deleted scenes, Full director commentary and cast and crew bios. Don't miss this DVD or VHS. Rated: R. Avialable on DVD, VHS and Laser disc.

"The Green Mile" Probably the biggest idea that I have learned from the movie, is that of innocent men and women around the world and how sometimes innocent men and women die for a crime that they haven't even committed. In "The Green Mile", as I can remember, John Coffey was found with the bodies of two young girls limp in his arms. These bodies were of Cora and Kathe Detterick, both seven years of age. Yet, just because they were found in John Coffey's arms doesn't mean that he killed them. Like John said "I tried to take it back, but it was too late." Eventually, we found out that he was not the killer, but this was two days before his execution. What were they to do, fry an innocent man? That's exactly what they did, they killed an innocent man. This posed the idea in my head, "Is the electric chair necessary, or will we keep killing innocent citizens of America?" There is so much hate in this world. "I am tired of people bein ugly to each other. It feels like pieces of glass in my head". It is those very people whom hate so much that make these electric chairs and have every person die for what they may, or even may not have done. I feel that this strong topic that is presented in "The Green Mile", should be analyzed by every person of this world who thinks that hate is the answer to everyone's problems. The answer to the problem should not be hate; it should be reflection in my eyes. A man should also be looked at more for what kind of a person he really is and not judged primarily on color or race, like John Coffey was. This movie was great, and everyone in the world should see it.Rated: R. In theaters now, PLAYING EVERYWHERE!!!

"Teaching Ms. Tingle" This movie may have been intended has a comedy, but I thought it was an extremely frightening. The film starts off, as we see a bunch of children running to their first block class at a local High School. Immediatly after, we are in the classroom of Ms. Tingle. A 12th grade American History teacher. She calls upon members of the class to present there projects. Among the students is Leigh Ann Watson, played by Katie Holmes. She has prepared the perfect project on "The life of an Accused Salem Witch". Leigh Ann put together a journal of the Witch's, bound in real old rusty material. The project looked like it may have taken at least 8 months to put together. The only problem is, if she wants to be Valedictorian she must get an "A" on this project. You would think that a woman teacher would be kind and sweet and want her students to all get great grades, but Tingle is a diffrent story. She is totally opposite. In fact she is rude, mean and strict. Leigh Ann has no chance. We see her struggle up to the front of the class, read an entry, and look towards Ms. Tingle. Maybe the project was good after all? Tingle grabs it from the girls hands, and mocks her, making fun of her in front of the whole class. Leigh Ann is crushed, and after school goes to the gym to hang out with her friend, Jo Lynn Jordan. Jo Lynn and her friend sit there, and Leigh Ann stays quite. Jo Lynn's friend, Luke Churner, starts a conversation in which he pulls out the answers to the final exam. Just as her is handing them to Leigh Ann, the drop on the floor and a voice is heard in the backround. IT IS TINGLE!!! She knows they stole the exam!!! Or does she? Leigh Ann grabs the exam and stuffs it in her backpack. Yet, it is still in eyes view of Tingle. Tingle reaches in the girls bag, pulls it out, and intends to bring the news of Leigh Ann's cheating straight to the Principle. What will she do now?? There is no way she can make Valedictorian now. What is going to happen next? You'll have to rent the movie to find out. I thought it was a gripping film that had more twists than a red twizzler. It kept you guessing, while scaring you along the way. Watch this movie, and look for the funny character "SPANKY"! I am sure if you are a fan of horror and suspense you will love this movie as much as I did. I saw the DVD version and the picture and sound was great. Let me just tell you that "Teaching Ms. Tingle" the DVD, has DTS and Dolby Digital sound on one disc, if you want to test out that DTS decoder of yours. Definatly buy or rent this movie, you wont regret it.

"Scream 3" This is by far the scariest of them all. It begins when you see the infamous Cotton Weiry in his jeep. He answers the telphone to hear a young womans voice. It is a sweet voice and he thinks nothing of it. Yet, later on in the conversation, the voice turns into the voice of the Ghost Face. The ghost face says that he is in Cotton's girlfriends apartment. Cotton, worried for her life, cuts in front of traffic and rushes to her apartment. What happens there, is suspensful and horrific. This is the opening to the movie. Just to talk alittle bit about the characters in this one: Deputy Duey is back playing an assistant on the set of the movie "Stab 3". Sydney is back of course and on her own. She works on a help line that helps women cope with their problems in relationships. Gale Weathers returns, still as the famous reporter. Might I add that she is terrific in this one. Cotton is back to, but, he is soon eliminated, too bad. Despite the rumors that you may or may not have heard, Randy is not alive, he is still dead. The clip that you saw of him in the trailer was of a movie that he had made before he died. Kind of a Will. Five more characters are added, including a new killer of course. Don't worry I wont tell you who the killer is. Plus, you'll never figure out who it is all throughout the movie, so don't even try to. I though that "Scream 3" had an eerie setting to it, being set in Hollywood. I thought it was kinda dumb that they put a "Stab 3" in this one because in the second movie, there was only a "Stab 1". This means that "Stab 2" was never even made, unless they just didn't show it in any of the movies. Be sure that the theater you see this movie in has "SDDS" Sony Dinamic Digital Sound. This will make all the difference in the enjoyment of this film. Overall, I think that this one was one of the best to be made. Wes Craven is a genious. You will find lots of suprises and things that jump out at you in this flick. One things that I didn't enjoy was that the people in the film did not get murdered in more creative ways. Still, I give this movie high ratings and it is a terrific, scary, suspenseful movie. So, go out and see it, you wont be dissapointed.

"THE ASTRONAUT'S WIFE" When NASA Astronaut Spencer Armacost's mission loses contact with Earth for two minutes, his wife is driven to the brink of madness by the terrifying suspicion that the father of her unborn twins in no longer the man she married--he may not even be human. This film had a series of suspenseful moments, along with the occasional long "Talk-Scene". I can't say that this movie was action-packed, but I can say that it was extremely entertaining. I felt that in this movie, the director could have embelished the relationship between the Armacost couple, before Mrs. Armacost's husband (Played by Johnny Depp) goes into space and comes back an alien. Despite this dissapointment, the rest of the film was terrific and suspensefull. It had a way of frusterating you, while keeping you rooting for the poor woman who is carrying an alien in her stomach. Did I loose you yet? Hope not cause i'm still going. At some points in this film (Like when Mrs. Armacost tries to kill her twin baby's that live inside her stomach with pills) you don't know wether to root for the alien, or root for the innocent woman with the baby's in her stomach. The plot seems confusing but i'll sum it up for you in simpler terms. A guy goes into space, theres a two minute blackout of transmission, he is badely hurt, he comes back to earth and is nursed back to life, soon after he impregnats his wife with two alien baby's. By all means, if you are a true sci-fi fan, check out this awsome flick. Now for the DVD specifications that I always give you. The film is presented in a "Letterboxed 1.85 format". The sound specifications give you a choice of Dolby Digital 5.1 surround, or Dolby stereo 2.0 surround, there is one theatrical trailer, and a bunch of DVD-rom features including Behind the scenes. Take my advice and in the opening menu, go into "LANGUAGES" and choose "5.1 Dolby Digital Surround". Even though the back speakers are primarily quite throughout the whole film, it is a suprise when they all of the sudden come on and scare you to death. Now for the picture. The picture of this film is no diffrent from any other DVD and nothing special. Its not a shocker, but the colors do blend well with each other and there is virtually no bleeding. A crisp picture is once again delivered. Rent this DVD, fit for a Friday evening. Not worth a buy unless you have viewed it once and really enjoy it. Rated: R.

"Eyes Wide Shut: A synopsis of the film and in depth review!"

The Synopsis:

This is probably the greatest film of 1999. New York City, 1999... A close up of Nicole Kidman (Alice Harford) slipping into an evening gown while Tom Cruise (Dr William Harford) is in the next room getting into his tux. They are almost ready to attend a party thrown by Williams friend. Once at this event, William gets to talking with a two incredibly attractive girls, while his wife, Alice, gets to talking and even dancing with another man older than her! Well, you can see from the very start of this movie that it is going to be alittle strange. Nothing happens between William and the girls or his wife and the older man, but the real troubles begin that night. After smoking at least half a joint of marajuana, they both go into a frenzy, yelling at each other and blaming one another for things that neither of them ever even did! Williams wife begins to talk to William about a fantasy that she had one time about a young navy sailor in the lobby of a hotel. William is speechless. What can he say, what can he do? It was only a fantasy! In the moment of silence after the story is told, the phone rings. In a daze, William answers it. A call from one of his patients granddaughters reveals that his patient has just died. He says that he will be right over, and leaves. Of course he visits his patient at the house and confronts his granddaughter, but before he leaves, William is hit on by the granddaughter! She all of the sudden kisses him passionately! This is insain, the viewer thinks. Yet, William resists the temptation and leaves the house. Walking along the streets going back to his home, he cannot shake the vision of his wifes fantasy stuck into his head. He keeps seeing her having sex with this other man in a navy uniform! Out of a rage, he feels like he wants to get revenge, yet tries to sustain himself. It is a shame that down the street awhile, he is tempted by a prostitute which lures him into her apartment. He cannot resist, yet he does not want to cheat on his wife. He makes himself comfortable in her apartment, and they both agree on the price of $150 for the night. In the back of his mind, he can see his wife and how this would hurt her so much, but also in his mind is the vision of his wife making love to another man. So, he decides to go through with it, but right when they are getting ready to make love, his cell phone rings. It is his wife! This phone call beems William back to reality and he decides that he cannot go through with sleeping with this prostitute. So he leaves and once again walks along the streets coming upon a bar where his good friend Nick Nightingale (Played by Todd Field) is playing piano in a Jazz band. He watches them perform the last song of the night and the two men get to chatting.

Nick tells William of this gig that he does almost every other night. Each night it is in a diffrent place, but it is always the same group of people. While they are talking, Nick gets a phone call which makes him jump, but he answers it. It's a man, and he is instructing him to write down some sort of password. Nick writes down the password, and William glances over at it. Once off the phone, he asks Nick about the address of the gig, and he finally tells him, but says that he must get a cloak, a tux and a mask to get in. William does as he is told, and rents the costume. He then waves down a cab to take him to the address. Once he arrives two men, one at the gate and one at the door, ask for the password. He gladely gives it to them and enters the "Main Room". In this room he sees hundreds of people, all in cloaks and masks. A man is in the middle of the room in a red cloak, letting off incents and saying some sort of incantation. Once done, he takes a group of women and circles them around him, instructing them to remove there clothes. They do it. The rest I will leave up to your imagination and let you watch the movie to find out what happens at the house. William eventually leaves and makes a trip home. What lies ahead for him now, is a night that he will never forget and visions that he will always have nightmares about.

The Review:

Out of all the movies that I have seen this year, "Eyes Wide shut" scared me the most. It was not only chilling, but it seemed so real. First, lets talk about the Director, Stanly Kubrick. Now, this guy definatly had a twisted mind, yet he was extremely gifted in the field of film. His ideas are so original that is amazing they even get out of his head and onto the screen. Now there is no gore in this film, but it is scary because it could really happen. Noone has even thought of these things being real, but they happen every day. There is a part in "Eyes Wide shut" when William is renting the costume where we see a young 14 year old girl come out of the back in her underwear and a bra. She stares at William as if to say "I want you". William must resist her. Yet, this is the kind of stuff that only Stanly Kubrick can come up with. Of course we also can't forget the famous orgy scene in the palace. This is one to remember forever because it stays so vividly in your mind. People actually are doing this? Yes! Strange but true. Now lets move on to the characters in the movie. We have Tom Cruise, who plays the very complicated character of William Harford. In one side of his mind he never wants to hurt his wife and on the other, he want revenge. In other words, he doesn't know what he wants. Probably sex, drugs, money and love. He wanders the streets and in one night, gets into more dirt than some people have gotten into in there whole lives. William should be one of the greatest characters of our time. He is filled with emotion, anger and lust. What can we conclude from William? That he is like any other guy! Yes, all men are like William. When tempted, they can get into lots of trouble. The other main character is Alive Harford, played by Nicole Kidman. In real life the two are married, and they are in this movie also which adds to the realism of a real couple. Now Alice is also a strange character because she doesn't say very much through the whole movie. She just sits and waits two nights for her husband to return. This still makes her a complicated character, because she is so like a man. She too, if tempted can be lured in by sex, love, drugs and money by all of men. It is sad. And these two characters have a beautiful daughter! Well, what else can I say about this movie. Well, it is full of terrific cinematography and creepy lighting. The score to the film is also creepy. When something bad is about to happen a piano key plays and keeps picking up tempo until something bad happens or until the character is relieved. All in all the is one of the greatest film and most complicated films of our time. It will forever remain a classic. Director Stanly Kubric will forver remain in our hearts.

"Scary Movie"- Look. Almost all of the movies I review, I think very highly of in opinion. Now, like I say in most of my reviews, every film deserves a chance to be looked at equally and too have a fair chance at being viewed. That was until this movie came along...Scary Movie is about....um...ahhh...um...i'll have to get back to you on that after I think about it. Basically, in my mind, i believe it was supposed to be a spoof on horror movies which were made in the last 4 years. To tell you the truth, none of the good classic horror films have been made in the last 4 years so how can you make a spoof about them! "Scary Movie" stunk from top to bottom. It began with a cameo from Scream, I think. I feel that this movie was not only a waste of money, but it was a waste of the American peoples time. I advise noone to go and see this movie. In fact, I advise that it be mocked and jeered upon for what it is. Actors? There were no big name actors in this movie...actually, the only actor I actually recognized from "American Pie" was the character who played Nadia. Besides that, the rest of the characters in this film were terrible, and none of the people playing them could act at all. Now, I think noone under the age of 21 should view this film. This is one of those movies that you watch thoroughly and then say to yourself "This could easily be a film that young teenagers watch and try to act out in real life". It does not teach our teenagers values, it does not show the American public just how gifted directors are. It's in fact an insult to motion pictures and an insult to what ever company distributed it. I was suprised that Dimension Films actually backed up the production of it. Simply, I feel that my sister could have done a better job of making a movie and she's still in 5th grade. The ending of the film also left you disturbed because some girl gets hit by a car and then the whole movie ends. Its disgusting. Remember those trailers for the film where we see Keenan Ivory Waynes saying "I see Dead People" and mist coming out of his mouth. Let me tell you right now, that wasn't mist as in "Its cold in the room", that was none other than smoke from the "WACKY WEED". Thats right folks, pot. An un-necessary use of drugs were presented in this film, telling our teenagers that it is "OK" to use drugs. Many parents, having seen the trailers deeming the film "APROPRIATE" will take there kids to see it. The trailer is mis-leading and does not hint on any of the bad things going down within this movie. Look, this is my opinion, if noone else agrees with it, thats fine. I just refuse to shut up about a film that I thought was absolutely repulsive and if I was the president of the MPAA, I would bann it from North America. I hope this discourages any person, man, woman, animal, from seeing any part of this film. STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!

"Tim Burton's: Sleepy Hollow"-I did not have the privledge of seing this film in the theaters, but when it was adveratised on pay-per-view as a ONE TIME sneak preview, I jumped at the chance to order it. So, I flicked on my TV one saturady night, turned up my surround speakers and decided to give it a try. Basically, I saw this film because I am a big fan of the very unique style of Tim Burton. Since he created "Beetle Juice" and "Edward Scissor Hands", not to mention the awsome "Nightmare Before Christmas", I have been hooked on all of his work. It is probably because of the weird characters and the eleborate sets. The second thing that attracted me to this film was, of course, Johhny Depp. Like I said in my review of "Ninth Gate", he is my favorite actor and is always convincing to me in his roles. "Sleepy Hollow", was originally a story created by John Irving. It is the whimsical tale of a dreaded Headless Horseman, whom rides through the town of Sleepy Hollow, and chopping off heads of the town's people. Now, Disney has done some things to try and make the story into cartoons and popular books. Yet, noone has really dared to tell the story EXACTLY as John Irving did...with a few exceptions here and there. Tim Burton did just that. He took Irvings story, and made it into a film with dazzeling special effects and a whole new, never before approached plot to the famous tale.

Burton's version of the film begins as we see the great "Constibal Icabod Crane". Crane is played by Depp, who is really not that skinny at all, as we most time precieve Icabod. Never-the-less, we see the plot evolve and Crane ends up traveling to Sleepy Hollow to investigate a murder. Upon arrival, Crane finds that all of the men and women in the town are frightened out of there gord. They are in fear of the one, the only, headless horseman. 5 bodies dead already, the constibal will need some convincing that a "Headless Horseman" did all of this. It is then, that the film begins to get creepy. Conspiracies form within the members of the town. Crane is in for more than he bargained for, when this town starts to bring out memories of his past, and haunt the present.

After viewing the film as a whole, I realized that it was truely amazing. Not only the acting on Depp's part, but the wonderfully creepy sets and the great action scenes. There were actually times in this film, when the horseman himself got into sword fights with several townspeople, including Icabod. On top of this, the revised story plot, I found to be extremely interesting. It was almost as if I was witnessing a whole new story. Burton never spared any gore or "Head-decapitation's" in this film. Yet, thats what made it all the more interesting to watch! You can't help but cringe in your seat when a head gets lopped off and rolls along the ground. Its exceptional! Now, the acting was amazing on Johnny Depp's part. He brought Icabod to life, and gave him emotion. I actually got to like the character of Icabod after the movie came to an end. I guess it would be fair to say that he brought a new meaning to this man that had lived in the tale for many years. Until this very film, you never saw what Icabod was really like, and when you watch it, you will. I can best relate his acting in this film to that of his acting in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". Although his character mind set is different, he brings the same emount of humor to the screen. Such as in a scene where Icabod is consulting the men of the town in the woods. They are all hudled around a body and the Depp asks "Did you move the body?" At which point, one of the men says "Yes", at which point Depp responds "You should NEVER move the body!" In a confident and very well mannered voice. The men all look at each other and one says "And why is that Constibal?", at which point Icabod says "Because", walking away and holding his head proudly up in the air. This is just one scene out of many that will make you chuckle a bit. Christina Ricci on the other hand, wasn't too great. I mean, she is a very talented actress and I felt that the reason she probably didn't do it for me in this film is because she didn't have the opportunity too. Her lines were feeble and scarce, meaning she didn't have very many of them. What she did have, came off, to me, as sloppily acted...or...maybe ever sloppily written...either or. You can not compare this film to any one of her roles, because it was totally different. Too bad it couldn't have been better. All in all, I am glad that I witnessed this film. It brought to me, a new meaning of the story and a new appriciation for it. "Sleepy Hollow" is a must see if you are a movie lover and if you are a fan of Burton's work. It's in your local video store now. Don't miss it!

"The Ninth Gate"- Now, I must say that I did not see the trailers for this movie ANYWHERE. I did not read any reviews on it. Yet, it was through a clever add that I noticed the film. Now, Polaski, the director, was very farmiliar to me along with the face of Johnny Depp on the cover. It just happens to be that Depp is one of my favorite actors. For that very reason, I figured that I would give the film a try and go out to the video store to rent it on DVD. I walked into the store, to the back, where the new releases are kept and picked up this title, "The Ninth Gate". I flipped the cover over and decided to read the back, to get a jist of what exactly the film was about. So, I read the very short summary, and to tell you the truth...it didn't really apeal to me. It actually looked like one of those "Stigmata" or "End of Day's" movies, both of which I had seen enough of. But.......Johnny Depp was in it. So, I guessed that he would probably keep the film interesting. So, I paid to $3.50, and checked the film out. This evening, I put the disc into the player and watched through the movie with two friends, from beggining to end. The following, are my views on the film. Before, I tell you about my thoughts on it, let me breifly summerize the plot for you. Johnny Depp played a somewhat sneaky book dealer, what I mean by sneaky is that he charged people less for a book of greater quality, worth much more than his value. Now, one day, he is sent on a mission to analize three books of the same kind, to see if a mans book is in fact a forgery. The book is so elegantly titled "Ninth Gate" and the contents of it included a ritual in bringing back to life, satan. On his journey, he discovers many horrific truths behind this books dark past, and various secrets that lie within its pages. I usually tell the people who read my reviews that I do not listen to big time reviewers at all. I look at every movie the same, and I figure that every movie deserves a fair chance at being watched. Holding those truths, I thought this film was execptional. the very begging of the movie it literally shocked you into watching the rest. As I approached the end of the film...It had felt like I had been playing the board game "Clue". The film just kept me guessing till the bitter end. Another way to put my love for this film into words, is that it was a joyride. At times...I felt myself drifting into the movie and becoming the characters.
On top of this, the movie was VERY scary. Something is always around the corner. Plus, the morbid truth behind it, made the movie VERY scary. All the facts about satan and the devil from biblical ages scares me alot. If you like this one, you will definatly like "Eyes Wide Shut" or "The Bone Collector". The film was, of course, wierd. Yet, it entertained me emensly.

Now, I did say that I love Johnny Depp. I was suspecting a good performance from him and what I got.......was an AWSOME performance. He intrigued me in his role. I felt him being terrified. I felt his pain and anguish. I think he did an exceptional job of putting me in the mood of the film. The director, Polaski, is extremely gifted. Although the film was long, 2 hours and 13 min. , he made not one second of it boring. Every part of the film was a twist, and it was also VERY unique. I have to say that not one bit of material was one that I had seen in any film before. Completely original. By all means, if you are looking for a suspenseful, intriguing, scary film to rent tonight. Rent "Ninth Door". Its amazing and exciting.

"Felecia's Journey"-After reading this movie which was HEAVILY talked about and praised in "Fangoria" magazine, I thought I would give it a try. Let me say...I'm glad I did. Now lets just say that this IS NOT a movie you should be watching when you are falling asleep. To not relie on it to keep you awake. It is in fact a VERY complicated movie (Probably the best I have ever seen of its kind) about a serial killer. The killer is played, of course, by Bob Hoskins. You may know of him for his work in Roger Rabitt :) . Lets say that if thats the only other movie you have seen him in besides this one, you are in for a rude awakening when you view his character in this movie. Basically, the movie is about a young girl named Felecia. She is on a search for her boyfriend whom left her in ireland. Supposedly he works in a lawnmower factory. Once she is in the town she comes across this man, Hoskin's, track about 5 times. Coincidence? No way! He is secretly luring her in like he has with other girls. So finally, the plot develops and we learn alot about Felicia's past and alot about the killers path. Hint...He really hates his mother. Don't all serial killers? Maybe if theres a serial killer reading this review, they would like to write me a comment on this review to tell me if its really true. So, where were we? Oh yes, the plot develops more and Felicia ends up in the man's home. BIG MISTAKE! I wont give away anymore.

I can't say much more about the movie itself. Just don't expect lots of action packed adventure. It is a deep and slow moving film. Watch it in the afternoon and let it develop. Lots of people say that Hoskins plays the best part in this film. I agree totally except for the fact that Felicia played a good part too. I forget the young actresses name, but she did a good job in showing her nieve side, because she was VERY nieve. Hoskins was a creepy fellow in this movie. He just scared me! A switch from Roger Rabitt, lol.

A question that you all want me to answer is "Does the film scare"? The answer is "YES" in its own twisted way it scares the #$^$ out of you. Its all talking, but the talking is sick and twisted. Slowly, you become frightened by the fact that the killer lures Felicia in SLOWLY and very TRICKILY. The ending to the film is a true shocker. You will never predict it and i'm not of liberty to tell you about it.

True horror fans will embrace this film. Rent it on a quiet afternoon when you arent tired and you'll be ok.

"What lies Beneath"- Well, after viewing the cleaver advertising trailers for this movie and reading the 4 page review in Fangoria Magazine, I knew I had to this film. It was with a few friends that I cared to go and see just how "SCARY" it was. Many reviewers have mixed feelings about the film, but you know what...who listens to reviewers have the time anyway? I will advise anyone right now to not listen to anything they have heard so far, good or bad, about the film and go to the theaters to view it for yourself. Trust me, don't go alone.

I found myself in the begining of the film a bit confused about what this was really....well....about! I admit that I had to get into the movie. It wasn't one of those films that just draw you in immediatly...except for the suspense that you know something is ALWAYS around the corner, ready to pop out and scare the #%@# out of you! Now, we get about 15 minutes into the film and we hear (OH MY!) that Michel Phiefer's character is sensing a ghostly presence in her home. The rest of the movie basically twists and turns. The couple try and figure out who exactly is in the home, haunting it. Don't believe everything you see in this film.

Now lets compare this to previous Zemeckis films in the horror genre. We have the movie "The Frighteners". Zemeckis worked with Peter Jackson on this film. Now, the two films had alot of similarities. They both had to do with ghosts and they both had to do with ghosts having personal connections with other people. The great thing that Zemeckis did with "What lies beneath" is that he did not show the actually ghost very much. You only see her about 4 times. NOT seeing the ghost makes it all the more scary. To tell you the truth, half the movie is just grueling anticipation. Whats around that corner? Is he dead? Or alive? That kind of stuff. There are about 10 big jump in your seat scares that will literally sometimes make you scream. To tell you the truth I screamed like a little baby!

Now you look at some movies such as "Friday the 13th" and "Nightmare on Elm street". The horror in those movies revolves around LOTS of blood and gore. The REAL horror about this movie is what you don't know about. Are you getting me? Well, I mean just that. What you don't see at all scares you the most. Now that is TRUE horror. Any horror fan would be able to stand up at the end of this film and clap. It's cleaver, scary and imaginative.

I said in my title that this film is "Hitchcock revived through Zemeckis", and I mean that completely. If you go out and watch one of those OLD hitchcock films, "Vertigo", "The Birds", "Phsycho", you will get this very same feeling. I think actually that this film was more like some of the episodes in the "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" tv show. In those shows you never saw the killer, but it scared you to know that he was somewhere in the room or close by. "Fangoria" magazine stated that Zemeckis told them that they wanted the film to be "Hitchcock with digital effects..." I this that Zemeckis acheived that goal masterfully.

The big question is...will it last as number one? I wouldn't relate this film to last year summer blockbuster "The Sixth Sense" because it will never last as long. People will see this film, walk out scared, talk about it to there friends, but, they wont go back to see it again, and probably none of there friends will want to either. It's just NOT that kind of movie.

Harrison Ford...another good question is "How did this compare to some of his other roles." I have to rate his acting in this film as AVERAGE. A five on a scale from 1-10. It wasn't his best performance because he really wasn't the main character. He didn't shine like he usually does and he handels a bigger role better. Such as "Indiana Jones". Hence the title, he was the main character, and did a darn good job at it. If you want to see a movie where Harrison ford acts to the best of his ability, don't choose this one. Lets leave it at, he did what was expected from him to the best of his ability.

Now Michel Phiefer on the other hand...WOW! She looked sexy in this film and when she had to play a possessed woman, she pulled it off perfectly without overdoing it. He sinful side came out being possessed and it was a wonderfully acted scene, along with the whole movie being wonderfully acted. I give her an A+ for this movie and recommend all of her fans to see it. She makes the film. One of her best roles yet. Kudos to Michel.

The last thing I want to hint on was the creepy musical score. Without the music this film wouldn't have had the intensity that it did have. When someone jumped out, the music got loud and made you jump. It also sent chills down your spine. The strong eerie score made this movie all the more scary and fun to watch.

It's late saturday night, what are we gonna do? Catch the later showing of "What lies beneath"! You wont be dissapointed. I know I wasn't.

OH YEAH! Do bring someone with you..... :)

"The Cell"-Reading reviews on "The Cell", in the year 2000 August and September issue's of Fangoria magazine, I found the premise of this film to be much more than interesting. I found it to be one of those films that you need to rush to the theaters to view because you are awed by the way it sounds in the review. So, I ran to the theater the night it came out and watched the film from beginning to end.

Jennifer Lopez play's a child psychologist whom not only has face to face sessions with her patients, but also has mind to mind sessions too. You’re probably asking, what do I mean by "mind to mind"? Well, I mean just that. A machine, within the confines of a lab, allows Lopez to get into the children’s heads for a more personal session. While in the children’s heads, she confronts their good sides, and their sometimes-horrifying "Bad" sides.

The beginning of the film has the audiences following two separate plots. In one place, we get to know a mentally ill and deviously gruesome killer who tortures his victims by putting them into a glassed room that slowly fills up with water. The victims (All Girls) are video taped by the killer for personal pleasure. In the other place, we see Lopez trying to help a young boy by getting into his mind for a session. The two plots meet, and eventually Lopez's character must go into the mind of this vicious killer. Why does she have to do this you ask? Well, the killer captured a victim, but soon after went into a deep comatose state, not able to speak. Therefore, not able to tell anyone where he has been keeping the victim locked up. Meanwhile, the victim (an innocent girl) is in a glass room somewhere, while it is filling up slowly with water. Lopez must go into the killer’s head to find out where the girl is locked up. But time is running short.

Lopez's character eventually enters the killer’s head, about half way into the film. Once inside, she experiences visions so horrific they make Charles Manson seem like Barney the lovable purple dinosaur. Will this brilliant child psychologist remember that this is all just fantasy? Or will she make it her reality...forever entrapping her inside the mind of the killer?

Overall, this film was dazzling right from the start. The costumes were amazing and the sets were elaborate and mind-boggling. The special effects throughout the film rocked my world.

Going beyond the out-of-this-world special effects, the plot was strong and the acting was actually not that bad! Jennifer Lopez played an excellent part, and lots of her butt could be seen all throughout the movie (The feature that guys love the best). That’s the important thing. Compared to a lot of other sci-fi flicks I have seen, this one actually did it for me. Now, I have to say this because ever since I viewed this film I have been thinking of past summer special effects blockbusters. Matrix was last year’s blockbuster for special effects. This year, so far, "The Cell" is the most special effect-filled film I have seen this year.

Now I watch allot of sci-fi and horror films. If you have seen "Dee Snider's: Strangeland" or "Silence of the Lambs" and actually enjoyed them, then chances are you will like "The Cell". On top of gruesome scenes, "The Cell" offers a very unique and frightening type of suspense. Its like one of those "What's lurking around the corner?" types of suspense. Now this film has yet one more essential and overlooked layer to it. The musical score. This film, from beginning to end, had an exceptionally creepy and bizarre soundtrack playing in the background. Whoever was responsible for it definitely gets an “A” in my book. The music had that Arabian Desert type of feel, while on the other hand, when Lopez is inside the killer's head, the music becomes the epitome of all anarchy and disorder. It seems a bit chaotic, making the audience feels disoriented and nervous, not knowing what is to come.

Well, that’s about it. This movie IS one that you should definitely see in theaters, because the special effects are amazing. In some scenes you even feel like you are moving! Freaky! Well, go out an see it. Enjoy it. Don't blame me if you are grossed out…I warned you.

"American Psyco"- They ranted and raved about this film in Fangoria magazine. I never got a chance to see it in the theaters, but...when I found out it had just come out on DVD in an UNRATED VERSION, I know I had to rent it. So, I went to my local video store to rent it. One copy left, lucky me!!!! I plopped it into my player, and watched. I have to admit that at the end, I was alittle mad. Not at the quality of the movie, but how it ended. Don't worry, you can read on, I wont give anything away. Basically, the whole movie was about a man named Patrick. He has a relationship with a woman, yet occasionally has sex with others on the side. He is a die hard for fitness and working out. I think it was during one of his first narratives when he mentioned that he does almost 500 crunches a day and 600 push ups. A work-out-holic! As the plot unfolds, he begins to kill people. No suprise, since the title is "American Phsyco". I doubted it would be about a loveable purple dinosaur. So, yeah, he starts killing people that are close to him. Then he starts killing random women. Weird. At this point in the film, I was about to turn it off, but then it redeemed itself. The actor that played the part of the phsyco delivered an amazing solioqy towards the end of the movie. It is a short 5 minute scene where he gets on the phone and admits everything he did to an answering machine at his friends house. It is definatly a memorable, emotional scene. The rest of the movie consisted of killing, killing and more killing. Chasing people down halls with chainsaws, murdering protitutes and even cutting off heads and putting them next to the ice cream container in the freezer. Oh boy! Well, horror buffs like myself love this kinda thing. But, half the population in the United States, hates worthless and overloaded blood and guts. I would have to say that if you like this kind of thing, like me, then rent the movie. The UNRATED dvd now out, has about 4 minutes of extra footage. They claim that the footage is in the sex scene. Didn't really matter to me, because this was the first time I was watching it. I thought the director did an interesting thing with this movie. He/she made it so ridiculous that noone could possibly take it seriously, but then made people think...there are people like this out on the streets! That was what scared me the most. Some of the worlds most vicious serial killers have done wierd stuff. If you too are into gruesome scenes, like horror films, and want to see a realy serial killer at work...and play...then American Phsyco is the movie for you.

"The Exorcist: The version you havn't seen"- It was about 3 years ago, when I first rented the "Exorcist" on my VHS system. I have to say...it was frightening! Now, in the year 2000, the Exorcist is back and better than ever. It has been released on the big screen, with surround sound and even a newly mixed soundtrack. Among these things are several deleted scenes including the infamous "Spider Walk" scene. I will comment on this version of the film in my review of "The Exorcist: The version you havn't seen". I woke up on a Sunday morning and decided that I wanted to see a movie. It was early October, and the sun was out. I got a few friends together, and we figured on seeing the new version of "The Exorcist". We hopped in the car, and off we went. We were at least 20 min late, but I had already seen the movie so it was no big deal. I watched the movie through, and these are my views. The soundtrack was AMAZING! In the dark scenes when things were flying around the room, it sounded as if you were actually in the room! The whole film was in full surround sound wih DTS! AMAZING! Also, the musical score sounded better than ever, with that haunted rythm of Tubular Bells. Picture wise, I wasn't impressed. I could have rented it on DVD and got a better transfer! For some reason, I don't think that the producers of this new version, cared much about the picture quality because it was grainy and terrible. Hard to believe it was remastered. Now, supposedly 15 minutes of the film was restored and totally added. These scenes were included on the DVD except for the spider walk scene. LEt me tell you. The Spider Walk scene is so amazing, and so horrific, that it made me jump out of my seat. I was terrefied! The whole deal behind this scene is that Reagan (The main Character-The possessed) walks down the stairs upside down and on her hands like a spider, and then spits blood out of her mouth. SCARY! TOO SCARY! I was informed that even this version of the deleted "Spider Walk" scene, was cut down, because in the version in theaters, we don't see the second half of this scene when Reagan chases everyone around the room in the Spider position. In the version WE see, Reagan stops at the bottom of the stairs and spews up blood. Frightening and chilling. It will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Let me warn you, it comes out of nowhere and is totally unexpected. The other scenes consisted of minimal value and were not even worth adding. In my opinion, they made the movie longer than it already is. Which is now 2 hours and 15 minutes with the added footage! I won't review the acting and directing because most people have seen this classic before, but lets just say that all the actors and actresses are phenomenal. Linda Blair deliveres an on your seat performance to die for! If you havn't seen the film yet, I advise that you go out to theaters and check it out. What do you have to loose? I would advise anyone else that wants to see it, to just go to see it in theaters because of the AMAZING soundtrack and the bone chilling "Spider Walk" scene. Don't take my advice if you don't want to, but I would advise you to check with your local movie theater and make sure that the showing of the NEW Exorcist is in Digital Surround Sound and NOT stereo.

NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET BOX SET REVIEWS!!! These reviews will come out as I watch the films. It may take awhile to review all eight DVD's, so bare with me!!!

"Nightmare on Elm Street: Part 1" Prepare yourself for a truely awsome horror flick. Part 1, and the entire Elm Street series was directed by Wes Craven. Keep in mind that the review for this film is NOT the VHS version of the film. I have viewed the DVD 1.85 letterboxed format/special edition of this film. It may contain extra footage. I would advise you buy or rent the entire boxed set to get the full impact out of the film and this review. The first film starts off in a boiler room, where we see a young girl of fifteen-years-old named Tina, running away from something. The character of Freddie Krueger, soon comes out of the shadows. He is dressed in nothing more than a red and black striped shirt and worn out pants. In place of his fingers are sharp knives. The girl is terrified at the site, yet as he reaches to cut her body with the knives, she wakes up. She is trembling in her bed, sweat pouring down her face. This is the first dream in the series. More dreams follow, until one girl dies. (I'm not telling which one). One of the kids, soon decide to go into there dream, pull out freddie, and kill him. Will it work? Will Freddie be killed? First off, I just want to say that this movie was brillient. Watching it in letterbox made the experience even better. Plus, the soundtrack was re-mastered for optimal performance and was in a 5.1 digital surround sound format. The DVD definatly is one of the clearest pictures I have ever seen. I think the sound could have been alittle better, since the music was significantly louder than the voice. I think the reason that this happened was because the microphones used in this movie weren't that good. The interactive menu was awsome too. When you load up the DVD, a collage of clips are put into the begining that you will soon see in the film, along with eerie music. The DVD also has the option to "Skip to a Nightmare" where you can skip to any Nightmare in the movie that you want. Movie wise, it was creepy, and intense. Worth a rent. The character of Freddie is so freaky and the concept of dreams becoming reality, scares me to death. If you have the money, then the box set if worth a buy at 125 dollars. Available only on DVD. Another version of the box set is available in a standard sized format with no surround sound on VHS.

"Nightmare on Elm Street: Part 2" Freddy is back, but that in his regular form. In Part: 2, Freddy takes over the body of a young boy. All the boy had to do was find Freddy's fearsome glove and slip it on, and then he in fact turned into him. As Freddy, the boy now goes on another killing spree while also trying to keep up his relationship with his girlfriend. His girlfriend soon realizes that when he is not with her, he is turning into an evil monster who is capable of reaching children through their dreams in uncanny ways. The final scene involves his girlfriend, actually fighting her own boyfriend off!!! Trying to free the evil spirit from his body. I wont tell you if it works or not, but I will say that Part: 2 is as good as part one and one of the best horror movies in the series. Once again, DVD comes through with an unbeleivable copy of the film. The picture is to die for and the remastered 5.1 dolby digital soundtrack is mind boggling. This DVD also has the "Skip to a Nightmare" feature and "Cast and Crew Bios". If you are wondering where all the behind the scenes action is, then you have to look through the collection and find the DVD labled "Nightmare on Elm Street Encyclopedia". This Seperate DVD has behind the scenes info, trailers, bios, and nifty facts about the films. This Film is also presented in a 1.85 aspect ratio to fit all the picture in the screen. The black bars are normal, trust me. I have in fact seen the whole series already, but please give me time to right the rest of the reviews. Thank you.
