Isaiah 34: 16
Look in the book of the LORD and read:
No one of these shall be lacking,
For the mouth of the LORD has ordered it,
and His Spirit shall gather them there.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful,
and kindle in them the fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created,
and You will renew the face of the earth.
Lord, by the light of the Holy Spirit,
You have taught the hearts of Your faithful.
In the same Spirit, help us to relish
what is right and always rejoice in Your consolation.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Welcome to the "Gathering Space." To "gather" means to bring
together in one place or group. This room is the beginning
point for the "Retreat House," a place for us to start.
A place where we "gather" to share our thoughts,
favorite bible verses, our love for God or why
it is so "special" to be a christian. Let others see
how we "gather" together to share our spiritual growth!

this is a interesting topic. this week i am preparing a teen retreat on being a christian. Being a christian means Christ-like. A Christian Leader is someone who believes in the Word of God and lives according to his Word. A Christian Leader prays everyday, reads the Bible frequently, goes to church, treat others with love and respect. Being a Christian leader does not mean being a hypocrite, liar. Being a Christian leader means to be mature and self-disciplined.

Christ is the very reason I am alive--literally. I recently had a very serious car accident on March 17. It is miraculous that I survived with a few injuries. I am ever more aware of Gods's healing touch and I stopped by to say "Thank You!"

I believe that being Christian is as simple as saying yes to the will of the Father. The Blessed Virgin Mary never questioned God no matter what task he assigned her--from the conception and birth of Jesus, to the crucifixion and death of our Savior on the cross. My daily prayer is that I might be obedient to the will of God, much as Mary was.

The world as we know it today, is in total decay. All the beauty that God has created is slowly being destroyed be mans greed and sin. Man has turned to the power of money for his needs. His material wealth is more important than right or justice. No one cares anymore about his neighbor. No one cares enough to help those in need. Gods judgement will be swift and merciless. Please pray for me a sinner.

I read this story somewhere, I can't quite remember where, but I'll share it with you. There were two men walking along a path on a mountain, traveling up the mountain to a cabin. It started to snow heavily and they knew that it was going to be a stuggle to get to the cabin. The snow got deeper and deeper. And suddenly, there in the road, they came upon another person lying still and hurt. The two men talked about what to do. The one man said, "Well, I'm going on. I'm going straight to the cabin. I'm not stopping." But the second man said, "I can't leave him." He picked up the still body that was lying in the snow covered road and carried him on his back slowly towards the cabin. The first man was way out of sight, while the second struggled with the weight of the injured man on his back. It was cold and the snow was starting to fall harder and piling deeper on the ground, but the man traveled on, carrying the injured person on his back. Suddenly, he came upon the body of his friend he had been traveling with who was lying dead on the side of the road as he was attempting to make his way to the cabin alone. The traveler, filled with anguish, realized that he had made the difficult journey because he had stopped to help someone in need, and that carrying the body of the injured traveler had kept him warm and alive. It is when we die to ourselves and help others, it is then that we live.

I thank God quite frequently for the privilege being being a Christian Catholic. Living as a christian is not easy, but so very rewarding and joyous. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts.

I feel that one of the most important aspects of Christian living is to focus our lives on loving and serving others. Last month, a friend of mine died in a car accident. Her death has reminded me of the fact that our time here is very short, and that we shouldn't waste it on trivial matters, but should try instead to focus on Christ's commandment to love one another.
