![]() What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? and kindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created, and You will renew the face of the earth. Lord, by the light of the Holy Spirit, You have taught the hearts of Your faithful. In the same Spirit, help us to relish what is right and always rejoice in Your consolation. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. The testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:3 One day a young boy decided to fly his kite. It was a breezy spring afternoon and the kite was flying high in the sky. The kite proudly thought to himself, "Look at me, I'm so beautiful...I'm flying so high. I could go even higher if this little boy would let go of my string. I have a tail and wide wings. I bet I could fly to the moon if he would just LET GO of me." Just then the little boy was distracted and dropped the string. The proud kite wobbled around helplessly and landed in some brush completely tangled up. Much of our Christian growth depends on tests and trials which often make us anxious, angry and scared. If God were to "let go" of the restrictions that go along with these difficult experiences, we would beome wobbly and tangled up just like the proud kite. Just as James said, "The testing of faith proves patience," our heavenly father wants to reward us and watch our spiritual growth soar. Only those who are bound to Christ are truly free. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Binsam's Web Graphics |Library| |Study Hall| |Garden| |Links |The Retreat House| |Catholic Spirituality| |
