Viscount of Bearn - 13th Century

Obverse Reverse

This is a silver denier of Bearn, a region to the south of Paris. It was minted in the 13th century by one of several Vicounts and shows a short cross with two pellets at the top. Surrounding that is the legend CENTULLO COM (Count of Centulle - a city in Bearn). The reverse shows an interesting monogram that appears to be an A over a P and a cross. Actually, what they are going for is the word PAX (peace). The monogram is encircled by the legend +ONOR FORCAS. If anyone can tell me what that legend signifies, please e-mail me and I will be sure to give you credit. I've had several guesses but no authoritative answer as of yet. It is in F (Fine) condition.
