WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO
Clipped from the Kitchener-Waterloo Record dated December 31, 1994 item by internationally-syndicated columnist Ann Landers
Dear Ann Landers:
I've enjoyed reading your advice for more years than I care to admit. Recently, an article appeared in the Montreal (Quebec, Canada) senior newspaper, The Senior Times. It contained some words of wisdom I thought you might want to share with your readers. I found it very reassuring and am sure others will, too.

Dear George: These days, when one out of nine women will get breast cancer, it is important that your positive message be shared. Thank you for sending it on. Here it is:

My husband was diagnosed with cancer of the pharynx (soft palate) in February of 1997. He was a heavy smoker at the time;
he isn't now. By the grace of God and to His eternal glory, Archie's medical team was superb, diagnosis was early and treatment
was prompt. Intensive radiation left him with no saliva and virtually no sense of taste - but also no sign of cancer. HALLELUJAH!
It isn't over until it's over, of course ... but cancer professionals are incredible individuals and there is an extensive support
system available, if only you care to tap into it. This site is dedicated to helping you do exactly that.
May the love and presence of God be with you now and throughout this time of trauma, and may you learn to trust your cancer services
and support groups, because, my friend, there IS life after cancer. Cancer can, must and shall be beaten.
Please feel free to e-mail me if you need a friend who's "been there."
(Mrs.) Doris E. Howie <><
P.S.: Two years later, Archie is out rototilling a huge vegetable garden; tending his goats; mowing his lawn; planning his crops -- and praising his God Who has never left his side, but always been there WHEN CALLED UPON "IN FAITH, BELIEVING". Please, please, please, dear friend - let your first reaction after the initial shock of learning you have cancer be to turn yourself over to the Lord, heart and soul, and allow Him to work His perfect will in your life. He will see you through and give you peace such as you have never known. In Jesus' precious Name I ask you to do this. Amen.
