The next day Taylor woke up to Isaac shaking him. "Where am I?" he asked. His eyes half open. "Tay, you're out on the back patio. What happened?" Isaac stopped shaking him and stood up. Taylor suddenly sat up and looked around. He had fallen asleep on the cement. What happened? One minute I was talking with Veronica, and then next, Ike is waking me up. He turned to Isaac, who was staring down at him. Isaac asked him again, "What happened? How come you're out here?" Bewildered, Taylor stood up, "I-I don't know." He looked around once more. Isaac looked at him as though he were crazy. "You don't know?" he said, speaking one word and a time, pausing longer than usal inbetween. Taylor's stomach growled. "Geez, I'm starving!" he said as the strange thought of him awakening out there slipped his mind just then. Isaac lead the way into the house. "I found him," he said. "Taylor, where were you?" his mother gave him a somewhat sharp look. "He was asleep on the back patio," Isaac spoke before Taylor could get anything out. "Well, I woke up last night," he began, and with all eyes on him he sat down on the couch, "I had just had this really strange dream, but I couldn't remember what it was. I thought I heard someone outside my window, so I went and looked, Veronica was standing outside in the back-yard looking up at me, so I changed and went downstairs to talk to her. I asked her what she was doing and she said she was just out for a walk 'cause she couldn't sleep and then the next thing I remember, Ike was shaking me.." his voice trailed off. * * * * * * His father told him to make sure that this Veronica wasn't like some obsessed fan or anthing. Ten they sat down for breakfest. Pancakes. Later, Isaac, Zac, and Taylor were sitting down infront of the TV, Zac just flipping through the channels, stopping every no and then. When the phone rang, Zac jumped up and got it, "Hello?" "Hello, Zac?" came a girls voice from the other line. "Yeah, this is Zac," he turned and faced Isaac and Taylor, who were staring at him, wondering who it was. "Hi! This is Veronica," to Zac, her voice sounded cheerfful. Isaac mouthed, "Who is it?" "Hey, can you hold on a sec?" Zac waited for a reply. "Yeah, sure," she said and then waited in silence. Zac held his hand over the mouthpiece of the phone. "Its Veronica," he answered Isaac's silent question and Taylor's un- asked question. "Hey, cool. Ike, Zac, do you mind if I ask her to do some- thing with us today?" Taylor asked, looking and Isaac and then Zac. "No, go a head, I don't mind," Zac whispered. The look on Isaac's face seemed to sat to Taylor 'Are you sure?' but he answered, "Sure." Taylor reached for the phone and Zac gave it to him, taking his hand off the mouthpiece. "Hello? Veronica?" his voice sounding a little confused. "Tay? Hi! Did you have a nice sleep?" she giggled. "Yeah, hi. Umm.. I did, but I don't remember going to sleep," he looked at his brothers. "You don't remember falling asleep?" Why doesn't he remember? she thought. "You said you were tired and you sat down and leaned against the side of the house and a few minutes later, you'd fallen asleep." "Oh, I don't remember, oh well. So, we were wondering if you wanted to get together and do something later?" "Sure, how about noon?" She looked at the clock sitting on her nightstand about a foot from her. It read 10:27. "OK. Well, I gotta go, see ya then?" "Yeah, see ya then. Bye!" "Bye." "So?" Isaac looked at his brother, eyebrows raised slightly. "So, shes coming over at noon," he paused, "Got any ideas on what we could do?" "We could go rollerblading," Zac flipped through the channels. "The mall? Watch a movie? I don't know, you're the one who wanted her to come over," Isaac said before turning back towards the TV. Taylor thought about what they could do, but not much seemed exciting enough, Maybe its just today or somethin' he thought and mentally shrugged it off.
