The Indians of Arizona run the "gaming" places. Each reservation seems to have its own casino and they are as varied as the different tribes are. The size of the building varies but they all have the usual "gaming" possibilities and the buffets are all quite excellent. The adobe style building above is the Gila (hee-lah) River Casino and is a huge, very beautiful building designed in the Indian tradition of the south west. Harrah's, on the left, is a more cosmopolitan structure with fountains and domes..... both provide the fun of gambling and will gobble up your money with equal glee. Below is a piture of the "Cuyuna Range" breakfast held on the first Monday of each month. During the winter the group swells to 100 or more. The Cuyuna Rnge, where I grew up in Minnesota, was one of the major iron mining areas, the other being the Mesabi Range near Hibbing, Mn.. The breakfasters are mostly snow birds that get together to reminisce and share news of home.
