The Canterbury
Second Floor
The
Sitting Room
These 2 rooms were really too small for much, so the furniture is
way out of scale to the first floor!
(ok, I was new to this!) The wallpaper is a commercial dollhouse
paper. The carpet is a piece
of peach velvet. The rug is from a kit done with markers.
The settee, chair, and footstool
are of balsa. The chair was formed by steaming the balsa,
and letting it dry while taped
around a tomato paste can! Legs on the settee and footstool
are beads. The stove is from
balsa, with a grommet for the pipe. The small rug is done
with markers on adia cloth.
The bookcase is from balsa as well. The light in the tower
alcove is a cap from a gumball machine trinket.
The other light is Sculptey clay. Items on the sofa table
are clay, as well. The book is a scrap
piece of balsa with a cover, and edges painted gold. The sewing
basket is a gift from my
daughter.
The
Bed Room
Not a good picture at all! The wallpaper is 'big people' paper.
Carpet is a piece of blue velvet.
The rug, again, is from a kit done with markers. The bed is
balsa, I loved the bead, and could not
resist using it on the headboard, though anyone who sleeps here
would probably be annoyed
by it! The bench is from balsa, painted gold, with a velvet
cover, and gold trim. The room
divider is cardboard, with pictures from magazines, and gold embossed
paper. The desk is gold
painted balsa, with embossed paper. The chair is from gold
earrings, with velvet backing.
Not very visible are desk accessories, a feather pen, paper, a picture
of a handsome gentleman,
and a flower. The crooked working light fixture is from Sculptey
clay.
Well, that completes the tour!
