A week had gone by and things had been quiet. Upon Nick's return to school, the principal announced Nick's involvement with the "Find Of The Century" as well as being the one who pointed it out and located it. But with news media about the attack at the museum, it was the only thing that anybody wanted to hear. Yeah, he had plenty to say, but couldn't. You can never tell somebody something like that.

Nick didn't mind not telling anyone the truth. They have senn and heard about "The Mysterious Savior" which he had been dubbed, or rather, what Crystal Guardian had been dubbed. "What was Nick's job?" "Save the Universe from Shadow Star and all evil?" OR "Watch over and protect the crystal?" I mean with the name "Crystal Guardian" and being called "Guardian Of The Crystal", it makes it kind of hard to bring yourself to think that your something special, instead of just a "Babysitter". The previous Crystal Guardian had fought to keep evil from possessing the crystal, but that was all "She" had done. In the end, what once was a happy life with a husband, 3 children and everything you could ever want, to a burden of fighting to save a crystal, left her with only one final thing. DEATH....

Nick's alarm went off, but was soon shut off as he threw it at the wall. The night before, he had spent most of it trying to sort things out and ended up falling asleep around 3:30am. Nick slowly sits up and looks at his watch, which sits on his nightstand. "11:30am. Why wasn't my clock set for earlier? Ah forget it. I might as well get dressed and go get the assignments I've missed then I'll head back here... Why am I talking to myself?" Nick steps out of bed and heads into the bathroom. After brushing his teeth and shaving, he takes a shower. 10 mins. later, he's dressed and headed out the door.

That morning it had rained, and the ground was still wet, but with the now blazing sun up above, that would soon change. The student parking lot was empty when he arrived. It was already lunch time and it seems like nobody wasted anytime getting out of there. He found a spot in front, and makes his way to each of his classes to pick up his work.

This day wasn't starting out quite well, but now it was worse. All of his teachers were out to lunch and there was no point of rushing home, so Nick decides to head to the cafeteria to get something for lunch.

It was crowded in the cafeteria, it seemed like everyone at school or at least close to it. It didn't matter, because the table he sat at was empty. After buying his lunch, he walked over and sat down at his table. He noticed as he started to eat, that people had quited down and pretty soon the whole cafeteria was silent. Things weren't right and he knew it.

A soft but growing whisper started to build up, but it wasn't coming from inside. The sound was coming from somewhere outside. Nick stands up, just as a monster comes crashing through the ceiling. People begin to become aware of things again and start to flee the cafeteria screaming. Nick however just stood there and waited for everyone to leave.

The monster, a huge reptilian creature with no legs, but in their place were about 10 or so thick electrically charged tenticles, slowly rose into the air and grinned down at Nick. "Very wise of you Crystal Guardian. You make my kill so much easier. Now just stand there so I can finish this." Nick smiles back. "Sure, whatever you say.... Universal Guardian Crystal Power!" The monster fires a tenticle at Nick, but he fades away quickly and rematerializes. "Boy your slow." Nick's eyes begin to glow, as he charges up. "Crystal Orb Light!" A massive ball of light bursts from his chest and flies toward the monster. Just as it almosts hit's the monster, it puts out it's hand, and the ball stops dead in it's track, and fades away. "You little light has no effect on me. I can absorb powers of hurt... Let's see if you can do the same."

The monster's tenticles seep into the the ground and re-emerge behind Nick. Before he notices them, they wrap themselves around him and begin to strangle him. As an added effect, the tenticles begin to drain hime of his energy which is begin fed directly from the crystal. "How does that feel Crystal Guardian?"
