Isaac Baker was born in August 1758 near Baltimore, MD. Moved (w/his parents, I presume) to Frederick County, MD in 1781, then to Nicholas County, KY "in Spring of Harmas' defeat by Indians); then to Sangamon County, IL in 1828. He settled in Rochester, Sangamon County, IL where he died in September 1848, 90 yrs old. He married Phoebe Waddell (b. ~1770, Baltimore, MD) in or around 1787 in Baltimore, MD. She died in July 1845 in Rochester, as well. His pension application states that Isaac spoke "Dutch". He served as a Fifer during the last 2 years of the Revolutionary War.
In the information I've received on him, I've never found any information about his parents or siblings. Same is true of his wife. Looking for some assistance.

Looking for Bakers from Wilson and Edgecombe Counties in NC. My info starts with a Blake Baker, born 1800 Married Nancy Barnes on Jan 17, 1825. Their offsprings were James, Daniel, John, Thomas, richard, henry and peter. Thomas marries a Sallie Forbes and they had 10 children. One was named Robert who married Beadie, one of Daniel's daughters (yes they were first cousins), and they were my grandparents. They were the parents of 18 children, many of whom died at birth, or only lived a few days and included 2 sets of triplets and 3 sets of twins. One of the few who lived to grow up was my father Thomas who married my mother, Alice Walston. After this point my data gets more accurate. I have only been researching this for a short time, and many dates of births, marriages, deaths, are missing or at best very sketchy. Would appreciate any help anyone can give me, and will share any other information I have -- ThanksBob Baker

Malden Baker was b. in 1802, married in Calvert Co. MD, then moved with his family to Monroe Co. IN. His father was Thomas Isaac Baker of Calvert Co. Also in the same area were Isaac and Nathaniel Baker, who were connected to land called the "Devil's Woodyard". Isaac seemed to go back to Baltimore on occasion. The Mauldin family also lived in Calvert Co. and may be the source of the first name Maldin. I'm looking for connections in MD.Ivan Benedict
