I am definitely interested in anyone with the Surname of Keaton. My wife Shirley's oldest ancestor, Joseph A. Baker Sr., born in VA in 1815, first appears in the 1850 census of Roane County, Tn with his wife Julia Ann Keaton. Julia Ann Keaton was born on 6 May 1822 in Tennessee and died on 17 September 1872 in Cedar County, MO. She is buried in the Alder Cemetery at Stockton, Cedar Co, MO.
The oldest son of this family was named Elijah and is indicated as being born in Alabama in 1842. I believe Elijah was killed during the Civil war but cannot prove it.
My wife's connection to Joseph Sr., comes via his son Joseph A Jr., born in 1845 in Roane Co, TN and emigrated to Missouri with family in 1853/1854 time frame. Joseph Jr., emigrated then after the civil war to East Texas where remnants of his family still reside.
I would like to develop a communication with anyone that has information on this family.
