Jamima Ann Elizabeth Baker, born June 1858 in MO., died circa 1940 in LeFlore Co., OK. Married 1). Mr. Jones, with one known surviving child, Lee Jones; 2). Jacob Ellsberry "Berry" Tidwell, with four children from that marriage. She is reported to be of Chickasaw or Choctaw heritage, but this is not proven, since she is not enrolled in either Nation. Joshua Baker, the forth son of Alexander Baker and his wife, Elizabeth, b. 30 April 1642, was the ancestor of the Baker families in Montville, CT. He removed from Boston and settled at New London, CT, about 1670. He married, 13 Sep 1674, Hannah (Tongue) Minturn, relict of Tristram Minturn of New London. She was a daughter of George Tongue, b. 20 Jul 1654. A sister of hers married Gov. John Fitz Winthrop. He died at New London, 27 Dec 1717, aged 75 yrs.

Information on Amos H. Baker born Dec. 25, 1839 and died July 3,1919. Amos lived in Delaware County, Indiana where he is believed to have come from Butler County, Pa. He married Sarah Reynolds from Blackford County, Indiana date unknown. I believe Amos was a member of the 35 or 36 Indiana Volunteers. I am after information preceeding the mid 1880s back to his birth and the family line before him. Samuel Samuel Baker was born 4/11/1847 in Taylor township (Lawrence county). He served in the Civil War and was captured at the battle of Plymouth and served time in the Andersonville prison. He married Maria Booher in 1868 and lived the rest of his life in Wampum. He died 7/10/1935. Samuel's father was James Baker. He was married to Mary Millison 6/29/1845 in Zelienople (Lutheran church). He also served in the Civil War and died 8/17/1864 in Andersonville prison. Mary continued to live in Lawrence county but I don't know anymore about what happened to her. James was born in Beaver county in 1826 or 1827. I believe his father's name was Richard. Samuel was my great grandfather and I am interested in tracing the family further back. I know the first family member here was a Prussian mercinery who fought in George Washinton's army. I feel sure someone has done extensive genealogy work in the past and am interested in contacting them or anyone who has information.

I am looking for information on Joseph Baker Sr. He was born on Nov. 2, 1806 and married Ann Young in 1831. Ann lived from July 24, 1814 to Dec. 21, 1893. Joseph Baker owned around 400 acres on the west side of Cape Girardeau Co., Mo. He purchased this land from Daniel Bollinger in 1827. He and Ann had five children: Their names were Francis, Columbus, Sarah E., Jefferson, and Mary Jane. I have found some evidence that he came to Cape Girardeau Co., Mo. from North Carolina, however I'm not certain that this is correct. Baker died on Jan. 7, 1849.

Rev. Thomas Baker and family, Kingston, Washington Co., Rhode Island. Thomas was born 1638 Essex, England. Served at the First Baptist church (1655) Three children: Benjamin married Mary H.; Thomas married Mary; and James married Penelop Westcott daughter of Amos and Deborah Westcott. Looking for information on Thomas A. Baker whom I believe relocated to somewhere in New York from Pennsylvania in the early to mid 1800s. I believe Thomas was born around 1790, his wife's name is unknown. I do know that Thomas and his wife had at least one child a son, Algernon Sydney Baker, born around 1818 possibly in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Algernon married Sarah Stevens of Stevens Point, Wisconsin and they also had a son named Silas Thomas Baker who was born in New York (County unknown) in 1843. Any info would be
greatly appreciated.
