I found the Baker Hoax info interesting. I've recently begun to study my grandmother's lineage--Bessie Martha (Baker) Tilton. A cousin gave me some newspaper articles regarding the Hoax along with other Baker info. It seems these Bakers were of German descent. Were "the Hoax" folks German or English? She was daughter of William Henry Baker of Beaver County Pennsylvania. Anyone related out there?

Hi all, I'm looking for any Baker family who may recognize my Jacob Adam Weaver, and Alivia Stern. They lived in VA, had some children, my gggrandmother, Eleanor M. Weaver, being one of them. She was b. 1812, in VA. The family moved to Warren Co. OH. abt 1815/16. Eleanor marr. John Randolph, in 1829, had children, one son, James, had a daughter named by Eleanor. Her name was Izabinda Baker Randolph. I saw a letter where an older family member of mine told another relative that the Weaver's or the Stern's had Baker in the family, thought to be Eleanor's grandmom's maiden name. Jacob Weaver apparently took his parents with him to OH, too, as there is another Jacob Weaver, and wife, Mary buried in the family plot. Could this Mary have been the Baker? I can't find where in VA. that Jacob Adam Weaver came from with his wife, Alivia Stern Weaver, but suspect they may have have been from a Germanna Colony family.
Any help with this mystery would be very appriciated. Sue Reddell
