The Planning Stages
Please keep in mind that this particular page was written while we were planning our wedding. We didn't update it because we think it shows all of the pre-wedding excitement we felt . . .

This is one of the two ballrooms at the italian rennaisance style Wilshire Ebell, however it's not exactly the room that we picked for our reception. This photo will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect. Very romantic architecture!

Barbara Joan Grubman (Lee's Mother) has offered to bake our wedding cake.
Barbara is very artistic, and she's a great baker to boot!
We're looking forward to our first tasting session. Yum!

Lee & I have made a few more definite decisions. We've hired a photographer named Asgeir from David Michael Photography.Asgeir is from Iceland! We've never met anyone from that country before! He says that Iceland is similar in terrain to Montana. As of July, we still need to schedule our engagement session!

Music for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will be provided by Nick DeMauro Productions. Lee & I had to crash a Brazilian party over at Paramount Studios to hear the band play, and Lee had to negotiate with security so that we wouldn't get kicked out! This band jams, so be sure to get your dancing shoes in mint condition come November 8th!

Shopping Alert! Mom picked out her dress! She said she was so excited about getting her dress and thinking about the wedding, she couldn't sleep all night!

When Lee and I were first engaged, we decided that we would like to have a jewish wedding ceremony, and we would raise our child(ren) to be Jewish (someday when we decide start our family, of course). Since January, we have been taking an Introduction to Judaism class every Monday night, which is part of the process of my conversion to Judaism. Our last class of the course was Monday, June 16th. Lee and I attended each class, except for the one on Marriage!
Oy Vay! We were on vacation in Arizona during that class!

Shopping Alert! My Dad, Bill Rosen, bought some spiffy new shoes to wear to the wedding. Dad's new shoes are cocooned inside of sport socks to keep them shiny and new until the big day!

I've met with several florists to get some ideas about decor. There is so much to think about - the chuppah, bouquets (cascading or colonial), corsages (wrist or pin on), boutonnieres, centerpieces (low or really high), cake table decorations, flowergirl baskets, etc. etc. etc.! Lee could care less about this part. He keeps saying, As long as you're happy, Shelly, as long as you're happy . . . !

My girlfriends, Sheril Bozoian and Cathy Wood have offered to host a bridal shower for me in Sheril's lovely home on Saturday, September 27, 1997. Thanks gals!

Lee and I registered at Macy's over the weekend - talk about overwhelming! Lisa, the Bridal Consultant was very patient with us and offered lots and lots of suggestions - do you think she works off of commission?

We just received my Grandmother's beautiful silverware! Computers ARE wonderful! I was able to figure out the pattern name by a quick search on the internet. It's called "Coronation" by Oneida Community. You can see what it looks like here. Even though the pattern is discontinued, we can still pick up some serving pieces and salad forks to complete our set!

Invitations have been ordered! Lee and I agreed on an invitation style very quickly, so the decision wasn't very difficult. Anita at The Eloquent Elephant was very friendly, patient and helpful.
