WCW Rumors

Micasa has reported that Malenko and Benoit are not very anxious about reforming the 4 Horsemen without Ric Flair. Makes sense.

The Tournament of Champions for the 9/13 WCW PPV is off. The plan was to have a tournament with former World Champions (Bret Hart, Hogan, Sting, Warrior ...) battling it out. It was a great idea, but it was scrapped because there would too much problems with the jobs that would have to be done.

The WCW deals with Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, and Eddie Guerrero are expected to end between now and early next year. Chris Jericho, Dean Malenko, and Eddie Guerrero are expected to return to WCW. Everybody says that Benoit is the only guy that is expected to move on. People close to Benoit say that he is thinking about doing a Japan gig and working in ECW when he’s overseas when his deal runs out with WCW. ECW's Gabe spoke remarks on AOL, he said that Paul Heyman, during the Sandman controversy, said that if the Sandman left, he would use the salary of the Sandman to try to get Benoit from WCW. Eric Bischoff is not gonna let Benoit go free, especially to ECW. Heyman maybe said those remarks to put pressure on the Sandman. This weekend there will be more on this situation since the Sandman and Heyman are scheduled to meet. Benoit's fractured elbow will keep him out of action for possibly another month or two.

WCW had to make some changes to the Nitro Linup because the Warrior interview was scheduled to be 6 minutes long, but it lasted about 17 minutes.

Apparently the Giant wants to go into professional boxing, he will not give up wrestling if he does indeed enter professional boxing. Giant wants to have a big name recognition, and the way to do that is to win a boxing title, and then go back into wrestling.

Stevie Richard will be returning to WCW in the next few months, if he indeed does return he will participate in the Raven angle. Richards ring performance has been affected due to his neck surgery. Though, Raven, Saturn and Kanyon have there own angles with each other, Richards may be forced into some highly competitive matches. He may not be able to keep up because of the neck surgery.

A man set to make a change of wardrobe (and alliances for that matter) is Raven. Look for the brooding Scott Levy go from a flock leader to an nWo follower REAL soon. The nWo shirts bearing his likeness are ready to hit the merchandising shelves as of press time.
