  • Communicator History Clear - This useful freeware program for Netscape Communicator lets you easily erase your cache directory, cookies, history and drop-down list memory.
  • Anonymous.to - This service allows you to send anonymous E-mail through your browser. You may also post messages to newsgroups through this service. The form on this site sends an E-mail message through a number of remailers located around the world that you may select and is "almost 100% untraceable." No spamming allowed. Note that your message may take as long as 2 days to arrive.
  • Crypto Kong - This program will allow you to easily encrypt your communications. It's simpler and easier to use than any competing digital signature and encryption product, because there is no need for certificate management. With Kong, you do not need to worry about public key certificates and you do not need to create and publish your public key certificate, or obtain other people's certificates so that you can communicate with them privately, unlike other digital signature and encryption programs.For Win 95/NT only.
  • Luckmans Anonymous Cookie for Internet Privacy - "Cookies," a Net tracking mechanism, allow companies to invade your privacy and access your phone number, credit card number, address, and other sensitive personal information and preferences. Luckmans Anonymous Cookie is a free utility program that lets you instantly disable all cookies in your browsers cookie directory or file. This "anonymous mode" ensures total privacy since it hides all your personal information from outside sources. Available for PCs and Macs.
  • RPK InvisiMail - This is a standards-based E-mail security add-in for POP3/SMTP Internet e-mail software and Internet gateway servers. With RPK InvisiMail you can transparently send and receive E-mail messages securely over the Internet and have complete trust in your Internet communications.
  • Anonymizer - Anonymizer: very useful site that lets you surf without leaving a trail of personal information about yourself across the Web. This service offers unlimited trial access.
  • Win95 AnonyMail (direct download) - This is a Windows 95 anonymous E-mailer program. It's pretty simple to use, just fill in the blanks and press the send button.
  • Lucent Personalized Web Assistant - The LPWA helps you easily create and use consistent unique personal identities at Web sites that provide personalized services. These identities allow you to register at Web sites while keeping your true identity private. LPWA creates these unique identities on demand. This free service is available as a technology demonstration only; use at your own risk (and read the disclaimer at the bottom of the site's welcome page).
  • Protecting Your Privacy free brochure - This site is offering a brochure on privacy issues, including information on using protecting your passwords as well as information on Web cookies and E-mail privacy issues. To get a printed brochure, send them an E-mail.
  • Cookie Cruncher - This is another freeware Internet cookie tool. The latest version works with AOL, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Netscape Navigator. It gives you the power to select which cookies to keep or delete at boot-up. You can also view the content of the cookies and edit Explorer and AOL cookies.
  • Eudora Lite with PGP - If you need privacy when sending your E-mail, here's a good free solution: Eudora Light (an excellent freeware E-mail client) is now bundled with "Pretty Good Privacy for Personal Privacy," the strongest encryption program commercially available for individual users. Because of the current U.S. export restrictions on encryption software, you must verify that you are a citizen of the U.S. or Canada before you can download the software. Available for both PCs and Macs.
  • Pretty Good Privacy freeware version - The de-facto global standard for e-mail and file privacy. Available for Macintosh, DOS, and Unix platforms.
  • PGPfone - PGPfone (Pretty Good Privacy Phone) is a software package that turns your desktop or notebook computer into a secure telephone. It uses speech compression and strong cryptography protocols to give you the ability to have a real-time secure telephone conversation via a modem-to-modem connection.
  • Private Idaho - An Internet privacy utility for Windows. It simplifies using E-mail with Pretty Good Privacy (see above listing), anonymous remailers, and nym servers, providing you with more electronic privacy.
  • Encrypt (direct download) - With Encrypt you can scramble text files so no one can read them with the password (e.g. to send them as the attachment of an E-mail message). Requires VB5 runtimes. Home page is here.
