The Senators will succeed this year if...

Alfredsson stays healthy (2) 25%
Yashin starts scoring (2) 25%
They get Hasek-esk goaltending (2) 25%
Their young defencemen have break through years (2) 25%
The NHL doesn't ban the trap (0) 0%

Montreal should have resolved their goaltending situation by...

Going through with the Hackett deal (13) 27%
Sticking with their two young goalies (3) 6%
Trading for Potvin (25) 52%
Dealing the mint to Colorado for Patrick (7) 15%
Total Votes: 48

He wins player of the week, has put up numbers that rank him in the top 10 goalies and Habs fans would still rather have Potvin over Hackett. I'm tempted to put up a poll asking who the Habs would be better off with: Potvin or Hasek? In all fairness, most of the Potvin votes were probably a while ago, before Hackett was playing this great.

The Leafs should...

have dealt Potvin in the summer (2) 12%
deal Potvin now for whatever they can get (4) 24%
wait until the right deal comes along (11) 65%
keep him as the backup (0) 0%
Total Votes: 17

Seems like people overwelmingly want the Leafs to wait it out. But then as I said in my commentary, what if the right deal doesn't come along?

Which Canadian City Most Derserves an NHL Team?

Quebec (18) 25%
Winnipeg (16) 22%
Regina (5) 7%
Hamilton (30) 42%
Moose Jaw (3) 4%
Total Votes: 72

So it seems Hamilton has a right to be miffed at not getting their expansion team as 42% of voters felt Hamilton deserved their "Steel Heads". Quebec and Winnipeg, both of whom lost their teams came in in second and third place.

Who's the best Canadian player in the NHL?

Paul Kariya (8) 42%
Eric Lindros (3) 16%
Wayne Gretzky (6) 32%
Patrick Roy (1) 5%
Martin Brodeur (1) 5%
Total Votes: 19

Looks like the Great One is still great in the hearts of Candians as he finished a close second to Paul Kariya. It's a little surprising that Eric didn't get a lot votes with the start that he's had this year though.

What rule change would you least like to see in the NHL?

Shoot-outs (2) 7%
Four 15 minute quarters (13) 43%
All TV broadcasts must show the FOX puck (5) 17%
Ban Fighting (7) 23%
No beer allowed at the rink (3) 10%
Total Votes: 30

Well it looks like people cringe brigning the Zamboni out an extra time as "Four 15 minute quarters" was the runnaway winner as least wanted rule change. Keep in mind, the tough crowd (beer, fighting) picked up a combined 33% of the vote, much to Ken Dryden's dismay. At least five people had common sense to despise the FOX puck and apparently only 2 folk remember Nagano clearly.
