He married Chloe Sherman in Fairfax, Vermont, Dec 1848. Chloe was born in Fairfax, Vermont 1822. Chloe died 22 Jun 1882 in Enosburgh, Vermont.

James Jay Felton and Chloe Sherman had the following children:
