Vincent Van Gogh's house in Arles,
the "Yellow House", 1888,
oil on canvas, 72 x 91.5 cm.
Displayed at the Van Gogh Museum.

In February 1888 Van Gogh settled at Arles, where he painted more than 200 canvases in 15 months.

Vincent Van Gogh's Yellow House is where he dreamed of a co-operative of artisits working and studing together. He became enthusiastic for the idea of founding an artists' co-operative at Arles.

It is this cooperative principle that the Janis Bryant Art Center functions. Presently there are three resident artists working and exibiting their work along with the work of several guest artists.

We thank Vincent Van Gogh for giving birth to this great idea!
