Mrs. Hanson answered the door. There stood my parents. (@@What?Did you think I was going to kill them off?@@)

"Mom! Dad!," I cried. I was never as happy to see them as I was right then.

"Daisy! You're OK! Were you here when it happened?," Dad asked.

"No. Tay and I were at our house," I said.

"Which reminds me, Daisy. Someone should look at your ankle," Tay said.


August 20, 1996

We're leaving tomorrow. Luckily, we had insurance, so replacing our stuff wasn't a problem. Mom kept telling Tay and me how proud she was of how well we handled the earthquake, considering we were alone.

I going to miss it here. I had so much fun. So many memories. I know I'll always remember the earthquake, and the mall, and the fourth of july barbecue. And I suppose I'll always remember my first love.
