HTR Fosbery

Harry Tudor Raynor Fosbery
1904 - 1976

Fifth son and seventh child of his father Frank Robert Fosbery, Harry was born at Kilgobbin in county Limerick in December 1904.
His Grandfather was Thomas Fosbery

At the age of 18 Harry left Ireland for Australia, arriving at Fremantle in May 1923, and settled there in W.A.

His widowed mother went to Australia the same year, as did his siblings William, Hilda and Rhoda Amy.

Harry married Australian born Thurza Orr and they had nine children, 5 boys and 4 girls.

During WWII Harry served in the Royal Australian Army Service Corps, following which he and his wife went back into farming at Pingelly in W.A.

One of Harry and Thurza's sons, Graham Laurence Fosbery, has written an extensive and interesting history of this branch of the family and has included in addition notes and recollections gleaned on visits to Ireland by his son Noel and wife Susan in 1986 and by Graham himself and his wife Patricia in 1997.
