A Few Of
My Favorite Things

I collect vintage costume jewelry. While I love all kinds of
old jewelry, I am particularly drawn to jewelry made in the 1930's. Unfortunately, most of the artists of that time did not sign their creations. Signed pieces are great but I love the old handmade, unattributed, pot metal works of art from this era.

Pictured below are a few glitzy floral pins from the 30's and early 40's that make my heart go pitty-pat!

From left to right...

  • Sophisticated Coro Lily Brooch, measures 4 inches long.
  • Wonderful Marcel Boucher Floral Pin with the old mark, about 2 inches long.
  • Thirties Glitz! Floral stems tied with a bow, measures about 3.25 long.
  • Huge Sunflower Brooch is a dazzler! Measures 4.4 inches long.

This wonderful old brooch was my first piece of 30's glitz! Purchased almost 17 years ago, it is this wonderful piece that inspired me to look for and collect older glamor jewels.

This beauty is comprised of 3 shades of blue and aqua stones in square sets, pear-shaped and baguette rhinestones. There are also three sizes of clear, round rhinestones. It is 3.5 inches long and about 2.5 inches wide.

I also love enameled flowers. The Pegasus Coro below is still on the original cards in the original round, clear plastic presentation box. The earring card and the brooch card are entitled "Hibiscus." I can't imagine a set that looks more like a Florida Jewelry style than this one!

These are my very favorite earrings! I wouldn't sell them for any amount of money. The pale green cabs and navettes are handpainted with pink roses and accented with real gold. They are quite three dimensional and that made it difficult to get a good scan of them. Accented with goldtone leaves and mint green rhinestones, these are sure to get you noticed! I smile every time I look at these.

This is my favorite butterfly. This one is unmarked but I have seen the exact same brooch, in the identical color combination, signed Weiss.
