Gamma Kappa Service

Members of Gamma Sigma Sigma have opportunities to work with many service organizations. Although 15 hours of service may sound like a lot, it really isn't. Most members go well beyond the required 15 hours. If you distribute the hours throughout the semester, that is only 5 hours per month...which can be done in one or two days per month easily!

Currently we have a huge variety of projects going on. We do service at the Helen Ross McNabb Center, Florence Crittendon Center, the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Runaway Shelter, Volunteers of America, Family Crisis Center, & Columbus Home. Our Annual Rock-A-Thon this year will be for AIDS/HIV Research, which is a major project for us this year. We will also be participating in the annual AIDS walk to raise money for research. As always, our national philanthropy is the March of Dimes and we will be helping with Bail for Babies and doing some office work this semester. The Runaway Shelter's Haunted House will be coming up in October. It's a great chance to dress up and have fun for a good cause.

If you have any suggestions for service projects, please email our Service VP, Heather Welborn.
